The area surrounding the bar is actually very beautiful and a nice place to take a stroll and the bar itself is cozy and well suited to seat parties of multiple sizes. Food-wise the prices were pretty decent (from an American perspective). I ended up trying the moose burger and it was well worth a try. The actual meat is slightly gamey--not as satisfying as a beef patty, but the mix of the cranberry jam (or some sort of berry jam?) they put on the burger actually mixed very well with the overall dish. In 20+ years of…read moreinternational travel this establishment had by far the worst service that I've ever experienced. Last night (Tuesday 29 May) both servers completely ignored me from the time I walked in until I left. I waited 20 minutes before finally asking one of the two servers if I could place a drink order. They walked past me several times without even making eye contact. I had to ask for a menu. Staying safe I ordered a burger and fries which were mediocre. No one came by to ask if the meal was satisfactory. In fact I didn't talked to the server again for approx 1 hour. I had to get their attention to remove the dishes. I was sitting at a high top table only 10 feet from and facing the bar! No offer of a second beer until after 45 minutes of waiting I finally flagged the bar tender to bring the bill. Outrageous. The atmosphere falls well below the standard for a pub. There was American football paraphernalia in a few spots - in an Irish bar! How about real football??!! Don't waste your time on this place.
