I don't write reviews very often, but when I do, I make it a damn good one. These men and women at Express Staffing ARE NOT helpful let alone knowledgeable of a damn thing. They're seriously a waste of time. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR A JOB. SCREW EXPRESS STAFFING!!!!!!!!!! I have every damn good reason you can think of to be this upset. Story starts like this: I was out of a job for 8 months. When I was asked to come in for a interview BY THE COMPANY (I now work for) at the end of my interview my employer says to me "I'm not gonna lie I wanna hire you!" I replied "Awesome let's do it." He then says to me "You have 2 options get hired through the company or go through Express Staffing. If you go through the company you'll start in about 2 or 3 weeks, if you go through Express you'll start immediately. What would you like to do?" I replied "Well, because I have no experience in this field I'll go through Express for now. While my paperwork through the company is in the process" PROBABLY THEE BIGGEST MISTAKE I'VE EVER MADE! She then says "Oh, ok here fill out this application and we'll get back to you tomorrow" A week passes. No contact from Express. I contact with my employer. He says he'll look into it. I contact Express a woman tells me they're waiting on a background check I say ok. I have a criminal background. That is long but haven't been in the system for roughly about 8 years since that time I've worked straight through no breaks. Express contacts me 3 weeks after my application was submitted. Sara Marticorena says to me "Hi, Travis this is Sara with Express we received your background, and I have to say we're NOT going to be able to place you at (Company Here). I recommend you get your background expunged or sealed for future placement. S-Thurs 7pm-5:30pm. He was told by several people at the agency he'd make $12 (7pm-12am) and $15 (12am-5:30am). Last night was his first day of training at the Amazon warehouse in Hebron,KY. After speaking with other temp workers, he found out that he would actually make only $13/hr and was advised to call SMX. After calling SMX and asking for a manager (Steven) he was told he'd need to go back to Amazon to fill out a form to change the building he's working in. I've worked temp jobs before with other companies and I've always done everything through the staffing agency so that struck me as odd. After doing more research on this company I found even more negative reviews of shady pay wage practices. I had my husband call SMX back and he was told by the woman (he didn't get her name) that Steven actually is NOT a manager, but a recruiter just like her. She also told him that he cannot change his schedule for the next 90 days. If you need stable employment and want to work for Amazon, fill out the Amazon application online. If you want temporary staffing, there are TONS more staffing agencies that will not conduct business this way.
