The canals are rather non-descript and remarkably devoid of avian life - we saw perhaps as many as a dozen water fowl and a few hawks along the banks. Sailing through the two harbors was a little more interesting, particularly the boatyards when several antiquated wooden boats were undergoing restoration. The cow herding exhibition was quite disappointing to anyone who has seen an American cowboy in action. I have seen 12-year old cowboys at local town rodeos who could outperform the French chevaliers.
