On this busy Jonquière road, this restaurant/pub is always booming with large crowds and a lively ambiance! However, lunch time is a different story. Came here with 3 friends on a Sunday afternoon (literally all restaurants in Jonquière are closed on Sundays) and we weren't greeted at all. In fact, because we were clearly anglophones, no one bothered to serve us or give us menus. We had to wait about 15 minutes just to get our menus even though the place was almost empty. With only one waitress working at this hour, she barely came to us and we had to try really hard to flag her down. Needless to say, the food was very delicious. Fantastic Saguenay local based brew pub that has a very down home comfortable feel to it. Working in the area I recommended coming here with a work colleague as we felt like some good food in cool comfortable surrounding. When we arrived here there appeared to be some larger groups really enjoying themselves. Beer was flowing and good times were being had. Rarely do I consume much booze at lunch or I'd never feel like going back to work. Or smelling like beer for an afternoon meeting is not very cool with clients (unless you are with them). I ordered a club sandwich that was healthy in size and came with a few salads and what appeared to be focaccia bread. Overall a solid meal hearty and fresh. Portion size was good and service was above average. I've eaten at La Voie Maltee in Quebec where it felt more like a "meat market" in the evening with many hungry cougars on the prowl. The feel here was much more laid back and younger. Maybe in the night time the Gino's and Betty's come out looking their finest looking for a good times. Maybe it's more laid back. I walked in with my friends, and we were told to sit at any table we wanted. We waited for around 20 minutes before anyone came and gave us some menus. When we sat down, I overheard one of the workers say that we were anglophones, something that I was not impressed with. Needless to say, we waited 20 minutes, trying to get the attention of our waitress. When we did, we were finally given menus, and service picked up a bit. I ordered their burger, and it was delicious! The patty was cooked perfectly, and the toppings on the burger were amazing. The onion ring on the burger helped to complete it, and the fries were perfectly cooked. They weren't too oily, and the portions were decent! Prices were a bit steep, but with it being one of the only restaurants in Jonquière open on a Sunday, it was definitely worth it! read more
