Unfortunately I trusted the very high reviews, and did not have a good experience during my wedding.
The artists for makeup were very hit or miss. One artist did well, but one terrible artist who did my MIL and we had to redo her entire glam/set us back two hours during the wedding day. My MIL is brown, skin and she gave her orange foundation, which was unacceptable. Her and my SIL missed a lot of our pictures and everyone was rattled. I only had 4 bridesmaids, so this was disappointing.
In general, they really do one "style" of makeup (heavy eyes, same painting format) and even after showing them photos of what I wanted, they don't really deviate from that. It still looked OK, but I was hopeful to have gotten more of what I asked for.
I know this part is my fault, but you have to pay balance in CASH ONLY, after touch up, during cocktail hour. This was on the 5th page of the agreement in small print and I had paid everything up till that point electronically. Over email, they do not answer questions directly (may be the language barrier, as we were speaking english) and missed some key details like this after a lot of back and forth.
They held me, my MOH, and my sister hostage for 45 mins in the cocktail hour until we were ultimately able to pay in electronic form due to calling their boss. We were sitting around ALL morning (I gave them very generous cash tips in the AM) and had a ton of downtime before 5PM, so them being rude and sticklers during that precious time was really disappointing.
For example, our video team also required day-of payment which we had - but they said "hey no worries, pay us later, enjoy your wedding". It's not that hard to be nice on a wedding day, but they found a way to avoid that.
Lastly, it was not very clear that the makeup truck is parked far away from the resort and ALL ladies need to be on the bus for the entire time. This does not really work logically, as ideally, not all of us would be stuck on a small bus for 7 hours while we're paying for an expensive resort. By the time I realized this, they were inflexible to help acommodate us back to the resort, so I had to pay the entire bus fee AND now my resort fee. read more
