Unfortunately the surgeries (19 and 20 years ago) on my index fingers left both digits locked in a flexed position throughout all that time. I asked a plastic surgeon if he could straighten these fingers since I am a guitar player. He cautioned me that it would result in me not being able to bend them again... so my guitar playing days would surely be over. Time to think out of the box!! Dr. Yves Benabu used ultrasound to pinpoint exactly where the tendons of these digits were being trapped, and under a local anesthetic, to guide him in detaching the lesions. He then instructed me to wear a finger splint for a couple of weeks and to do extension and flexion stretches (which I still continue to do today). Prices are med-high compared to other medical imaging comics, probably because of their downtown location. If you have previous imaging results to show them, be sure to let them know at the reception desk, it'll speed up the process.

I would HIGHLY caution against Westmount Square Medical and their lab partner CDL laboratories…read more Went there for STD/HIV test, tested positive for chlamydia... Or so I thought. CDL laboratories called me back over the phone and told me the tests were actually NEGATIVE, to add insult they told me they would have to rerun the HIV test by outsourcing it. At this point I had taken the one dose antibiotic for chlamydia and had already informed other partners who took the medication too due to high risk factor. Westmount Square Medical then called me to tell me even the HIV test had been botched and fought with me over my request for a refund (I was out $230.00 at this point). They did not return my phone calls, had to leave several nasty voicemails before a supervisor called me back only to play more phone tag. I still have no idea what happened, no answers have been given yet (almost 3 weeks later), no clue if I'm HIV positive or not and only a partial refund has been rewarded. Had to go to CLSC to be completely retested. No one was overly apologetic (I seemed to be annoying them, they kept passing blame) and my cell phone bill/work time lost/embarrassment has been exponential. Do yourself a favor AVOID THIS NIGHTMARE, avoid Westmount Square Medical and CDL Labs.

Since after 6 years on a wait-list, neither my…read morehusband nor I have been able to obtain a family doctor, we find ourselves coming to this walk-in clinic whenever we are so ill that we need some medical guidance. As another reviewer mentioned, you definitely need to come early if you are hoping for a walk-in appointment. And if it is during the time of the ''cold and flu season'' believe me you can never come early enough. Most recently when I was ill with the flu, I tried to get a walk-in appointment just 6 minutes after the clinic had opened and all of the walk-in appointments had already filled up. However, speaking from experience, this is incredibly rare during the summer months. Also, this clinic is thankfully open 7 days a week! Hurrah! What a uncommon deviation from most of the walk-in clinics in Montreal and an absolutely wonderful boon for the neighborhood! I have been coming to this clinic since it opened nearly 5 years ago and I have never seen the same doctor more than once; which in and of itself is not a terrible problem. However, having so many doctors on staff with so many varying backgrounds and approaches to treatment means that it is impossible to for anyone to rate the quality of the treatment given and consequently, my review (and keep in mind, all Yelp reviews) is for the convenience of a walk-in clinic which is open 7 days a week. The reason for my 4-star rating is that there are many, many, many doctors working at this clinic on a somewhat irregular schedule where they work on an aberrant and inconsistent rotation; I can promise you, you will never ever see the same doctor twice. Unfortunately, we have found over time that not all of the doctors on staff give welcomed advice nor prescribe effective treatment nor appropriate prescriptions. Case in point, when I was 7 months pregnant, I came here with severe flu symptoms. The doctor suggested cough syrup. Knowing that cough syrups are not permissible when pregnant, I asked her if it was OK for me to take cough syrup since I was in my third trimester of pregnancy and she asked me, ''oh, are you pregnant?'' ''Well, ehm, yes'' I said, ''the triage nurse wrote it in my file'' (it fact, as a rather healthy woman it was the ONLY thing written in my file)! Needless to say, I was NOT impressed. On the bright side, I have never seen her again. Also, more recently, my daughter had pneumonia and (another) doctor gave her two prescriptions for asthma(!?!?!?). Even the pharmacist was surprised and she asked me why he had prescribed her asthma medication and not something for her pneumonia. Incidentally my father is a M.D. in practice in the USA and I called him to asked about the doctor's prescribed treatment for my daughter and my father's reaction was of surprise and disbelief. He capped off his commentary with, ''UGH, Canadian healthcare.'' Regardless of my father's opinion, after several days, the treatment was not surprisingly completely useless and my daughter continued to get worse. But unfortunately, it was not possible to question the doctor's approach nor his recommendation. The only thing we could hope for was to return to the clinic and try our luck with another physician.
