Cool architecture in this area. Bjarke Ingels / B.I.G. Large windows. Unusual lighting. Interesting playground and park festures, sculptures. An elevator on the diagonal. All very Scandi and modern. read more

On the outside of the building you will see the rooms sticking out. On the inside are the common rooms and kitchens. The architects are Lundgaard & Tranberg.

The UCPH Housing Foundation acts as if it's a nonprofit here to help little international students…read morefind suitable housing. That's a BIG FAT LIE. This is one of the most corrupt, disrespectful, and callous organizations I have ever had the privilege to work with. When I initially was trying to find housing, I had read reviews from previous Danish students about concerns of cladding falling off buildings, the refusal to maintain facilities, the closing of common areas, and the lack of communication. I've had some bad housing experiences so I thought--how could this be worse? It is. 100%. There are groups of students currently trying to SUE the foundation for their treatment of students. UCPH Housing Foundation refused to allow students to modify rental contracts (even if you want housing for a single semester, you HAVE to pay for Jan-July). When the Covid-19 outbreak happened, students were forced to leave and begged to shorten their contracts because they couldn't afford to pay double rent. The foundation refused. When students moved into numerous accommodations, there were mattress stains, broken furniture, limescale stains, etc. However, none of this was written up in the move-in report done by the accomodation inspector. (Not everyone can attend this move-in date if they're flying in internationally). Upon leaving, the students were then CHARGED for these same issues they arrived with. It doesn't matter how clean you leave the apartment/dorm. I scrubbed--SCRUBBED--mine down. And yet they mention that everything needs "extensive cleaning". They find as many ways to dock you points: the interior windows need cleaning (how am I supposed to clean that?!), vents need cleaning, the tiles need cleaning, every goddam thing--probably the ceiling to every crack in the floorboards--needs cleaning. They do this just so they can rack up enough fees to keep your deposit. So, if you want to sign up with these folks. Know that you will never get you $1000 deposit back. Nor will these people ever be on your side. They're monsters. RUN AWAY.
Housing foundation does go out of their way to help students. However, many common expectations…read morewere not up to standard. For example my living accommodation was partly unfinished including rough edges on doors and no exhaust for the stove. Furthermore the emergency phone was not answered on two occasions. This severely raises a concern with their limited business hours. I would recommend that students at UCPH find housing through another means as it will likely be cheaper and they will know what they shall be expecting. Another unpleasant experience was personal threats via. Email that were not clarified over garbage left in a common area perhaps even by non tenants. If this company continues to operate in the hospitality business, they need to make some serious changes. Lucky for them they target a vulnerable niche market, being international students. I just wanted to add one serious safety concern I had when I was a resident with this company. The keys to our whole building were kept in an unlocked electrical box accessible in the common stairwell. Fortunately I didn't explore and find this out until I moved out. Just a word of caution don't hesitate to ask about these things. Even if you're just asking maintenance, etc.
