From my perspective I would strongly recommend going with a different company. Vixster has a strict policy of only taking trash that is in a bag. If you put a loose pizza box, a wine bottle, or a plastic container in the can they will not take it. This is a particularly difficult policy to enforce if you rent out your property. They do not use a traditional garbage truck. It is someone with a pick up, they grab the bags out of the can, and put it in the bed of their truck. So, I understand why they have this policy, but it just does not work for us. We signed up in March and have had multiple issues where they don't take the trash so we pay someone else to come put it in a bag. Even if there are three bags on the bottom, but their is a pizza box on top, they leave everything behind. Also, they do not advise you it was left behind, so if you do rent, and are not their consistently it can build up over time. It is now July and have decided we need to switch to a different company. We found ASAP Site Services that uses a traditional garbage truck so this will no longer be an issue. We asked Vixster to cancel our service and issue a prorated refund for the 7 months they will no longer need to service us. They stated they do not issue any refunds once service started. We chose to pay the full year up front and they think it is fair to keep the full amount even though they won't have to do anything for the last 7 months. We believe this is an unfair policy and there are no contracts where we agreed to this. I highly recommend you think about what type of garbage service you want before using Vixster. It just did not suit our needs and are very disappointed on their policies. This photo is an example after they serviced us. B/C the Krispy Kreme box was touching the bag, they left all of it there. read more

The will miss several pickups and when you finally get a response from them, they will tell you they will be there the next day but they never show. They just do not care about customer service. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

DO NOT DO IT. They NEVER pick up on time. They NEVER take all the trash or recycling they are supposed to. They skip weeks and weeks and weeks with no communication or they lie and say your trash will be picked up and then you don't take it to the dump and it accumulates. It's been 3 weeks since my trash has been picked up and they regularly go two weeks without picking it up or even longer. We are sorry, our hauler had issues with their vehicle. NOT the customers problem. etc. etc. on and on. Well if you can't run a business and find people to do the job. Close the business. Lying, bad communication, false advertising, employees that are sketchy and with attitude (yes they have some good ones too) read more

Use republic, or just take trash to a landfill yourself (you'll end up doing it anyway dealing with "vixster") . Yes...they are that bad. You have to do all but put it in the truck for them anyway. They will go weeks on end without pick up, and get to it when they see fit. "Customer service" is unreliable just as you would expect from a company like this. read more

DO NOT USE VIXSTER. You will be consistently frustrated and left with weeks of uncollected garbage. They pick up on time about 50% of the time. They skip multiple weeks without communication. They regularly go two weeks or even longer without picking it up. When you email, call, or text, they will tell you your trash will be picked up next week, and then it accumulates. Now you're sitting on weeks' worth of trash, which invites critters. Sometimes, when you call to say you had a missed pick up, they say their hauler said they picked up -- it feels like they are accusing you of lying about your missed pick up. If they only miss one week, I have given up on filling out their "missed pickup" form online because no one responds. Once you have two weeks of missed pick ups, I will call or text to get an update. It has now been three weeks since they last picked up. I've received multiple days where they say they will make it up, and those dates go by without any pickup or update by email, phone, or text -- I have to contact them to ask what happened. The consistent message you get from Vixster is that their hauler has issues with their vehicle. They do not have the bench strength to manage their routes if someone is out. Vixster seems more interested in expanding its service area than taking care of its current accounts. They make it very difficult for you to get out of the auto-payment subscription. You get radio silence whenever you ask about getting out of the subscription. Please do not go with Vixster unless you want to pay for someone else to take your trash every week, and then you have to take it yourself to the dump 50% of the time. read more

They miss weekly pick ups and say they were there. I know when the trash cans are still full you fools!

This company did well a few years ago but have gone down hill tremendously! They miss our trash pick up several weeks or come on the wrong day and we of course have no trash out. They have stopped responding to emails. Please beware if you are considering using them! read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I signed up for Vixster. They have been extremely unreliable and their communication and follow-up is non-exsistent. I would look for any other service to handle your trash collection. read more

It says that they will not keep your credit card information..... WRONG!! They keep charging quarterly, despite them not supposed to be having credit card info on file, and even well after stopping service. The only way to stop them is through your credit card company. Service is fair at best, and rates rise without prior notice. Even after calling them and being promised that the credit card info was removed and no further charges would be made, months later, SURPRISE AGAIN. TWO THUMBS DOWN! read more

I'm writing this review not necessarily about their service but their billing in that I've been charged a quarterly charge for the last 3 months. being charged so since July. Aft contacting them about this ongoing issue I only so far h received half of a monthly charge. I'm owed by them $396. read more

**This is such a bad company, they had to delete their Google Profile and start over because they had so many bad reviews** They were good for about 1.5 years, but once we needed actual help and actual customer service, we were ghosted. Vixster missed a week of trash pick up during our busiest rental period around the holidays. We called and were told that the snow delayed pick up this week - fine I get that. Well 2 days went by and still no pick up. Call again and they tell us the trash team will be out in 2 days - nothing. Our garbage coral starts to fill up after new years and guests are complaining about trash. The following week pick up date passes, still no trash pick up. We call to cancel and they tell us they will cancel our service and refund us the remainder of our prepaid amount. Great. Customer service asks us to give the billing department 5-10 business days to do so. Sounds good, I can understand that. TWO MONTHS later, still no refund or peep from them. I even see on my Ring camera a random trash guy coming occasionally on Wednesdays. I call and ask them what they are doing and that we cancelled. Same customer service agent says he will note on our account of cancellation. Fast Forward another month and I see a CHARGE from Vixster for the upcoming 6 months. Long story short, I had to email, call, contact the BBB just to get a refund for the upcoming 6 month charge. Joke of a "company". Do yourself a favor and use Appalachian Waste Management read more

Vixster knows that they mostly operate in communities with few other options for trash removal, so they can do a bad job and still get business. We've had a couple of incidents where they were late getting our trash, and recently they decided to only do recycling pick up once a month but still charge the same rate. These things were annoying, but we kept the service. About a month ago, my husband forgot to put out the trash. We generally don't have a lot of trash, so it wasn't a huge deal. Later that day, we realized the guy had come into our garage (it was open, but our driveway is kind of long and the garage is on the back of our house) and taken the trash. I didn't love the idea of him coming into our house without letting us know, but I knew he was just trying to be nice, so I let it go. About a day later, I realized a huge bag of clothes and baby supplies was missing from our basement (which is attached to the garage). My husband quickly realized what had happened. Even though the bag was nowhere near the trash, the guy had taken that bag as well, probably assuming it was trash for some reason. At this point, I was no longer OK with just letting it go. I called customer service and was told that it's policy for drivers to come into customers' houses to take trash if they don't leave it out. I explained that the bag of clothes wasn't even near the trash and that I wasn't OK with what had happened. The customer service rep told me he'd look into the issue, and that was the end of the conversation. He didn't even apologize on behalf of the company. I asked him what the company would do to compensate, and he said he'd have to let me know after he looked into it. It's been more than a month, and I haven't heard anything back. I'm not surprised. We've had questions in the past and haven't been able to talk with customer service or get them to return our calls. This is the worst trash pick up company I've ever dealt with, and their customer service basically exists in name only. read more

I spent quite a long time speaking to them about the requirements of their service policy. I was told to separate the recycle into clear bags and the trash in white bags. So, I did! I even put the recycle in separate bins, paper, plastic and cans...etc. Took me 2.5 hours. The driver, a young kid shows up, picks up the trash and leaves the recycle. Now I have to go do what they were hired to do. Fired them first day! Cancelled and will never look back. I think they need my education and training? Beware of this company!!!! Maybe they are young, but they need a lot of work! read more

Unreliable service. Hit and miss on collection. Never speak to a person, ALWAYS get a voicemail. Never return your call. DO NOT ISE IF YOU NEED RELIABLE GARBAGE PICK UP. read more

Don't think I've ever posted a review of anything, but this is important: don't use this service. 0/5 stars. They began fairly well a few years ago, but these days, missed pick-ups and an abject lack of communication are the norm--not the exception. My issue isn't that some weeks are skipped due to weather, car issues, etc. I understand that those things happen from time to time. It's that no one ever reaches out to explain or reschedule, and no one answers phone calls or emails. I've been patient and given them chances to right the ship. It hasn't happened, so I've canceled my account and await my reimbursement of $163.86, and I'm filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. Do NOT sign up for this service. read more

Due to rising gas prices Vixster canceled service in my area. They emailed me notification two days AFTER the cancelation effective date. ZERO notice. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. We opted to pay a year in advance and at first they picked up our garbage every week. Then they started picking it up only when they felt like it, so trash piles up and starts smelling. They took our money and now they don't do the job as agreed. Customer service is a complete joke because they don't return phone calls or e mails. They just simply ignore the customer. My advice is don't do business with these people because you'll regret it. read more

We had great service for 5 years, but in the last few months, Vixster's service and communication has been terrible. We pay for weekly service and our trash has only been picked up 3 times in the last 7 weeks. They have promised us a refund for the weeks missed and have not followed through. They have promised a phone call from management and have not followed through. They have promised an email from the accounts department and they have not followed through. At this point all we want is a refund and to cancel our service and we can not get a response. Vixster is essentially stealing from us and it is virtually impossible to contact the owner or anyone helpful. It is dishonest and disgusting. read more

This company is a joke. They haven't picked up my trash or recycling for a month despite several emails and phone calls that no one returns. They will also just leave bags of trash and recycling if they can't fit into their vehicles. They don't care that regular pick up is necessary to keep the trash pandas from destroying everything but they will sure in the hell bug the shit of you for payment. Time to shut down this bs company! I've already found a better and cheaper waste management company. read more

Vixster Waste Collection - 3 weeks of trash that I paid to be picked up. - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me - Boone, North Carolina

We canceled their service in August 2023. They charged us for the next quarterly payment. I had to fight for a refund. They have charged me again even though we have not used their service since August and now it is November 2023. I will have to fight for another $183 refund. I had to cancel my CC because of Vixster. In my opinion, Vixster is an unscrupulous business. Would have given no stars if that was an option. read more

This company is the worst! They are supposed to pick up trash weekly and recycling once a month. It's the 21st of April and they have picked up recycling once since November. Why would I pay you to do a job and you don't do it so I have to haul my stuff to the dump anyway? I get it that you have a delay when we have 10 inches of snow , but no excuses after January. Trying to get our money back. read more

This company is a complete disaster! After canceling service, they will continue to charge your card. Instead of a refund, all you get is lies and smoke and mirrors. There service also sucks! They miss more appointments than they keep. If a bag bust while there loading, they will not clean up there mess. You should find another company!! read more

Vixster routinely no shows on our pick up days. We went weeks with no trash hauled so garbage was piled outside our rental cabin. They are never available by phone and don't respond to emails or return voicemails. The rare times I have gotten Ahold of someone they are rude and still don't show up on the promises rescheduled date. I cancelled our service over a month ago and they still charged my credit card for the upcoming quarter. Of course no one is answering my calls so I now have to dispute with my bank. Do not hire this company. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

I wanted to leave an outstanding review for the Vixster team. What a professional group! Not only is their communication exemplary, their service to their customers is superior! It is not often that you experience such professionalism in today's world. Vixster looks out for their customer and is willing to go the extra mile if needed. Consider yourself fortunate to be a part of their service; you will not be disappointed! read more

Took them 4 months to find my driveway and trashcans, they often took my neighbors trash instead of mine, cannot get anyone to answer the phone without calling 4+ times, and after asking for my subscription to be cancelled multiple times they still charged my credit card for another year of service. Called to complain..they blamed it on covid and lack of staffing. Guy said owner would call me back..still waiting on that call.. disputed part of the charge since they did do some work.. read more

I currently rent an apartment that uses Vixster and I would recommend that anyone with a choice choose anything else. I would rather personally drive all of my trash to a dump in Hickory than continue using Vixster in Boone. Not only do they only take bags and leave everything else, but if the top bag has an obvious hole in it from an animal they will take that bag and stroll trash all over the yard and leave it. But if there's a singular small unbagged item on top of any bag (like a cardboard box), everything below it gets left. They are also incredibly unprofessional and display political signs on their vehicles and loudly complain about the tenants while taking their trash. It is the most high-maintenance trash company that I've ever even heard of. Absolute 0/10, this is a useless company. PS. this is about Boone, NC but idk how to update the location. I created a Yelp account just to share how trash the trash collection is. read more

This company really sucks they have missed 7 pickups since February including the last 4. They want answer emails or return calls then they charge me for the next quarter and go up $15. I didn't have any problems with Vixster for the first two years. Once or twice they did not pick up on the scheduled day but came when I notified them. The past 6 months they have missed my pick up several times the most recent being 5 pick ups in a row. Each time I called they apologized for the inconvenience and then it would happen again the next time. I called today to cancel my services because my recycling and trash are still in my driveway from not being picked up three days ago and was told they do not refund based on the contract I signed. I signed that contract expecting them to hold up to their responsibilities. If the contract said we have the right to not pick up your trash/recycling as many times as we wish but you still have to pay, I would not have signed it. Customer service is clearly not a priority, Vixster has been a huge disappointment. read more

It's pretty simple: Vixster will take your money, but not your trash. I signed-up by paying for one-year in advance. Almost immediately, Vixster started missing pick-up days. I looked the other way a few times, but eventually started calling and emailing Vixster to demand that they pick-up my trash and recycle as promised. Sometimes they would make a pick-up on the following day, but most of the time they did not. I have been forced to contact Vixster by phone or email once or twice each month since first starting service with Vixster. Today marked three weeks in a row that I emailed Vixster and asked (pleaded?) for them to pick-up my trash and recycle. Vixster customer service will not let me speak with an owner, supervisor, or manager. I asked for a refund, but they will not give me a refund. I asked to review my account for any credits, but they will not show me my account status. I asked to have my credit card removed from all payment features, but they will not remove my card. I'm at the end of my rope with Vixster. This week I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau, my credit card company, and the North Carolina Attorney General's Office. This company treats their customers like trash. read more
