Had given them an outstanding review previously, but...Updating April 27, 2021: One star for customer service. I had a visit from a Vivint rep who was canvassing the neighborhood. Not a bad guy, did his job well. We worked on seeing if his company would be able to buy out the contract I currently have with another company. He tried hard, but we couldn't quite make it work. A few weeks later I saw that there was a charge on my credit card from Vivint for $28.65...not sure why. Not a big deal, right? Just call and have them remove it. I called the customer service line; I was prepared with an authorization number, payment number and account number ready to go. A recording answers with a wonderfully articulate phone menu...the guy sounds like Ward Cleaver narrating a Disneyland ride. "Press six for questions about billing," he says. That's where the fun stopped. My call was transferred around the world a few times, literally. The lag time from bouncing off satellites was enough evidence, but it really got fun when I began considering bringing up Google Translate to communicate with the first representative...who, of course, needed to transfer me to someone that even Google couldn't have helped...who, of course, had to transfer me to someone who I understood okayyyy...who, of course, transferred me after a total of 26 minutes and 11 seconds to the final person that apparently also couldn't help me, because after placing me on hold, they hung up on me. I wasted 27 minutes and 46 seconds of my life trying to get my 28 bucks back, to no avail. Before this debacle, I fully intended to have Vivint come visit me when my other alarm contract ran out, but now I plan to just renew with my current provider. If it takes this long to respond to a future customer, I wonder how long it takes them to send the police? Anyhoo, gotta run. I have a post on Next Door I need to update. read more
