I opted for the curbside service so made my purchase online for an SSD drive for my laptop which was on sale, entered my Air Miles card during my order and was informed that my item would be available for pick-up the following day at noon. Since the following day was a Friday and it would be more convenient for me to drop by this Bureau en Gros on the weekend, I didn't show up on Friday but showed up on Saturday. I parked at the designated pick-up spot and called the number indicated by the sign. Someone picked up the phone and I informed him that I was there to pick up my SSD and gave my name and my order number. After less than a minute someone came to my car and handed me a bag (he didn't ask to see the email message that I received for my order). I looked inside the bag and saw the box for the SSD drive. Went home and for the next ~3 days, I received email messages informing me that if I didn't pick up my item, I would be refunded the purchase price. I didn't think much about it since I already picked up the item so assumed the email message was sent in error. Bureau En Gros refunded the purchase price and then charged the price again the following day (this time without my Air Miles card number in the purchase). From now on, I will either go into the store and purchase the item or if purchasing the item online, I will have it shipped/delivered to me for free as opposed to opting for curbside pickup.

We've lost Joann's in The US and where I live there are very few decent fabric stores. We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn and Fabricville came up as a fabric stop just an 8 min walk. I'm thrilled with my purchases: pattern making paper, gutermann thread and the coolest cotton print. This fabric will become a Toast dupe dress. The Value- incredible! This fabric was 60% off!!! It seems that they often have sales. And the service was prompt and polite.

For those of use who own sewing machines and sew on our own, it's getting harder and harder to find places to get all our sewing needs and sewing notions met conveniently. Fabricville and Bouclair were always the two main stops but Bouclair is now mostly a design store now and half of Fabricville is also the same. Thankfully the other half of Fabricville still sells fabrics and sewing notions. I have an old-school Singer machine( all with metal parts inside) and I needed to get new needles for my machine for denim work. I found everything I needed here. Prices were pretty decent, the service was friendly but it's a location that's out of the way for me. I just wish sewing shops weren't as few and far between as they are nowadays.

I had spoken with the Office de la Protection du Consommateur and was aware that I was legally in the right. Philippe, the manager with whom I had previously spoken, was not there, but the "responsable" was a woman named Lisa, who was immediately hostile, rude and unprofessional to me from the moment I walked in the door. I explained what had happened, and told her that I either expected the refund to which I was entitled, or the store credit I had been offered (which was for the value of the product plus a bit more for my trouble), the latter of which would still result in filing a formal complaint as it is not what I was actually entitled to. Throughout this entire process Lisa continued to be rude to me, called me a liar for pointing out the product's defects, called me vulgar, and called her manager, Philippe, an "asshole" within earshot of her fellow staff members and the other customers. She also told me she could not even give me a store credit, even though that, at the very least, is within the store's policy. After speaking with her manager on the phone, Lisa finally offered me the store credit, although she claimed she was only able to give me the value of the product, and not include the extra credit I had been promised for my trouble. She finally said she would ensure that the extra money would be sent to me in the mail. When I asked how I could be sure that would happen, she blew up at me, telling me that this wasn't worth her time and yelled at me. I literally burst into tears the second I left the store. I have never, in my entire life, been treated so poorly by a customer service agent. Other staff members were kind and tried to resolve the issue, I think recognizing that it is not right for a customer to have such a bad feeling about their store. but this particular employee treated me with open hostility in front of my husband, the other sales employees, and other customers. I felt violated and flabbergasted; as far as I am concerned, it is unacceptable to ever treat a customer in this way. I was made to feel humiliated for a legitimate grievance--having been sold a product which broke as soon as I brought it home.

The store like all the others, do not have signs on the aisles to tell you what can be found on that particular night....I guess that is a corporate strategy for you to walk down all the aisles and buy stuff on impulse...LOL. Turns out, it's like the dollar store, but stranger. Dim lighting, scattered and spotty selection. But actually, amazing selection, at the same time. A whole wall of craft supplies! Google-eyes, jewelry findings, embroidery floss, beads. Cheap yarn. And then all the other things...curtains, coffee pots, rice cookers, brown sugar, hair wax, mothballs, lighters, kids' toys, coat hangers, candy, glue...you know. Everything. It's sort of amazing. I may only be back for the craft supplies, but that alone is worth it.
