I find FitX gyms in Berlin to be the worst I've ever been to. The staff are not particularly…read morehelpful or friendly from my experiences. When you first sign up, no one really shows you around the place or shows you how to use any of the equipment. They just want you're money and don't care about members at all. The women's lounge is extremely small. The gym is very crowded. Bathrooms are not very hygienic. There is hair and dust everywhere. It's communal showering as well. Classes are limited and for some classes it's simply just a video that they play on the big screen - I could do the same in the comfort of my own lounge room for free. Also, classes with a real instructor are usually quite full so the instructors are not able to correct you if you are not performing the exercise correctly to really benefit from your work out. FitX gyms do not have air conditioning. And when the weather is cooler, their heating is turned up very high. The contract renews automatically each year and if you want to cancel, you have to do it 3 months prior. To cancel straight away, you have to prove that you moved out of the city. At least that was the case when I was a member. The customer service number of FitX is also not great. The customer service staff at FitX are not very understanding at all. They're simply brainless robots following what's written on a piece of paper without any empathy or understanding for the members at all. At times they are also quite simply rude. Oh and if you've changed addresses and apparently updated that information in the online members area, and you don't receive an invoice from them in the post, then expect to receive a letter from debt collection with added costs. Because apparently, they don't believe in trying to reach you by email (if postal services seemed to have failed them). If you need to work out cheaply use the money and invest in your own weights and equipment. There are plenty of free youtube workout videos online that only uses your own body weight. I personally like Fitness Blender. There is nothing at FitX that you can't already do on your own at home or in a park. FitX just doesn't care about you as a member at all. They don't care about your fitness goals, whether you reach them or not. It's the absolute bare minimal type of gym and honestly I would much rather take my money elsewhere. I do not recommend this gym at all.

It's really hard to believe that this place is a low-cost gym. For 15€/month, you get everything…read moreyou could ever need for fitness. Sing-up is quick and painless. All the equipment and facilities look really modern and well-maintained -- no "out of order" signs in sight! The layout is a bit better at this location than the Alexanderplatz one as it is more spread out and logical (changing rooms and lounge are right by the entrance instead of tucked away at the back of the gym). Similar to the Alex location, the "lady gym" is very commendable -- it is equipped with a squat rack and plenty of free weights. As for courses, they have the same timetable at every location, and while I have not really been a fan of the courses so far (yogalates was too boring and slow, cycling had a bad instructor, HIX was pretty good), I think that could probably be just an issue of personal taste. Anyway, this is a great gym to go to if you live in Berlin and don't want to spend a lot on your gym membership!

This FitX is located close the train station Südkreuz, very easy to reach. The studio is quite big,…read moreit has 2 floors, the first floor is for most people, cardio training, beginner level or just recovery workouts, etc. The second floor is for the people like to challenge themselves, pro trainers and the FitX classes. Most of the equipments are pretty new here, since they're just done with the renovation. They even changed the old weight plates to the new style. Somehow, I have the feeling that the new one is a bit lighter though. I also like they has a small area called "Zirkel"(circle), the equipments there all have monitors and video tutorials, pretty cool. And many other new cool equipments and lots of jogging machines. They also got rid of some old one which I think were great. The changing room looks much nicer. And there is a small rest area with snack machines. One thing though, I've been to this studio for more than a week now. And it is often packed with people. Sometime really have to wait a while till I can use the equipment or tool I need. I guess, because of its location. Secondly, because of the other nearby FitX is under renovation at the moment, so all the trainers can only come here. So I can understand that. Just want to give you a hint, if you planing to come. Overall, I really like the new features and how the studio looks like now. One of the best FitX studios I have visited so far.

There are things that I really like about this McFit location and some that I don't. The location…read moreis convenient and multiple tram lines stop right outside of the building. The staff here are super friendly and always say "Hallo!" and "Ciao!". Although they don't seem to speak much English (or aren't confident in their English skills) they are patient when I sometimes struggle to understand their German. :) I have seen the trainers helping new members figure out the machines and suggesting workout plans many times. The studio is always very clean, as are the locker room and bathroom. The thing that I like the most about this location is that it is far less crowded than the other McFit locations I have been to. They also have a small women's area which is great because it means I can actually use the lighter weights that are usually taken up by men! The thing that I don't like about this location is that they are lacking a bit in equipment. They have many machines in the center and enough free weights but I wish they had other equipment like kettlebells, medicine balls, and more exercise balls (there is only 1 and it is weighted). It would also be great if there was a TRX machine and another squat rack, but there probably isn't enough space. Even though this McFit could use some more equipment (and some of the existing equipment could use updating) I really do like this location.
