I have two tattoos from here: one from Eden and another from Pauline. They're both so beautiful and unique in their own ways. Despite their delicate styles, each tattoo has aged well. While this shop is on the pricier end (not a surprise given the location), I found it completely worth it as both artists are skilled enough to make sure your tattoos will be done in such a way that they'll fade quickly. Eden's tattoo has been going strong on my ankle for over two years now and people comment how it looks brand new. Pauline's is such a unique style that I almost regret putting it on my upper thigh because it's not as visible. I initially came to accompany my bf while he was getting tattooed by Yoshi (which came out super dope). I inquired about any walk-in availability since I'd be sitting for a while. They have flash book you can browse through with many options of their work. I was interested in the butterfly design and coincidentally the artist, Eden, was in the studio. She was working on a couple of clients but was able to fit me in afterwards. The experience with Eden was super quick and easy the whole process took about an hour. Since it was a spontaneous decision she helped me figure out placement and let me alter the colors. She was the sweetest and I could tell the other artists are just as courteous/professional. Got my first colored tattoo with Jebi today! It's been a while since I got a tattoo so I was very excited about it and Jebi made the process super easy and smooth. I found her on Instagram (@jebi.tattoo) and fell in love with her art, so I immediately sent an inquiry. I requested my tan morkie playing with his favorite toy (Dino with a Santa hat), and my cat whacking him as he runs by. She was super responsive and was happy to receive my pet pictures and videos for reference. She sent very clear instructions for the process. I was a little worried because she said I'd receive the design only 3 days before, but it was super cute and she was very willing to make some tweaks. Everything I had requested was in the design and more. The studio itself is very clean (and I found out I actually also follow a few other artists in the same studio), there's a bathroom, water, etc. My appt was at 10:30am and I finished at about 2:15pm, with a break in between. Jebi and the studio provide detailed aftercare instructions, and she followed up with an email as well where I asked a few more questions about the healing process. Overall it was a great experience and I'm super satisfied with the end result. Can't wait to see how it looks when it's healed! read more

Great experience start to finish. Found Abii and Vism Studio on Instagram and finally pulled the trigger to make the 400 mi trek down south for a once-in-a-lifetime tattoo. Abii did not disappoint. Contact is via email - describe in detail what you want, send reference photos. An assistant will reach out with clarifying questions, and confirm details as well as date and time, payment options, etc. they require a 25% non-refundable deposit to book the appt - so be sure. The studio is gorgeous! Located in the hip Arts District of LA (great eats nearby, too). Super clean - spa-like really. I was there on a Tuesday and it was a quiet day. Abii's work is meticulous, precise and gorgeous. I felt very comfortable and confident in her abilities. 4 hours later I have a gorgeous watercolor floral bangle around my wrist - I'll post a pic of the final result after I take off the Tegaderm cover. I got a tattoo from Jebi and couldn't be happier! She worked with me to perfect the design a few days ahead of time, and did a fantastic job on my tattoo! Shes incredibly sweet too, which is always a plus! I've had a lot of tattoos and found the pricing to be very appropriate and reasonable for the quality of the work! I wanted something featuring my cats and her flower doodles and she sent me two styles of cat faces (I loved both styles!) and I ended up mixing elements from both of her designs. She was quick and friendly about making multiple adjustments to the design to make sure I was very happy with the finished design! When I arrived she had printed the design in multiple sizes and we discussed a few placement ideas and she helped recommend the location. I told her to use whichever size and placement she thought would look best (on the back of my arm so I can still see it but also people behind might see it too) and I loved the outcome. The studio is spacious, comfortable and clean. I felt very comfortable, and would happily return to the studio to see Jebi again, or another artist! They have several incredibly talented artists who work out of their shop and I had been following on IG and even already spoken to two other artists there about getting inked and only just realized they all work out of the same studio! The music was chill and calming and she made sure I felt comfortable on the table and propped up with lots of cushions etc Parking was easy, lots of street parking around the studio, and getting there was easy too (it's in the arts district area) After she finished, she took pics on my camera and several very nice, well lit photos with a quality professional camera that she sent to me afterwards. It's nice having these high quality pictures of it for my own use (and for her to use on her social media too!) Payment was also a breeze, they have QR codes for paying via multiple digital payment options, and for tipping the artists too making it easy to check out. I was charged $500/hour for a tattoo by Abii that didn't end up looking like the design. Not only that, but she did not honor the initial estimate and raised the price. I received an estimate of $2200-2500 for a 6" tattoo of a black bird and red berries, a first tattoo that would be placed on my upper arm. Despite friends warning me that I was being overcharged, I made the appointment anyway. A few weeks before the appointment, I messaged and said I was worried about being able to tolerate the pain level. Abii then drew up a new estimate of $1500- $1600 for just the bird tattoo, and I thought that if I got the berries later, it would be about $1000. I got the bird tattoo and was able to tolerate the pain. However, the tattoo took only 3.5 hours and cost $1500. I think Abii began to realize she was grossly overcharging me as she got closer to finishing. So, she took more time to shade the blackbird's epaulet. In the design, the epaulet is bright red and yellow. What I ended up with looks like a pus-filled wound on the bird's wing. I couldn't get a good look at the finished tattoo in the studio because of its placement. When I got home, I was distraught at the realization that I had spent so much on a tattoo that did not even look like the design which featured a bright, solid-colored, red epaulet on the bird. What I got was a tattoo of a red-winged blackbird that does not have a red wing. But I told myself that once I got the berries, the tattoo might look better overall. When I emailed about getting the rest of the tattoo, I was told that it would be another $1600-1700 for the berries! This is $1000 more than the initial quote I received! I was shocked that the cost had so drastically increased from the estimate. I assumed that the $1500 for the first tattoo would only apply if that were the ONLY tattoo I ended up getting. Not only that, the berries are in color and require shading, and the bird was a simple black bird with almost no color. They should not have been the same price. My negative experience also extends to the VISM studio, which did not send me any info about how to prepare for my tattoo and how to take care of it afterward. I had to request this info myself. The tattoo I received is not worth $1500, and the fact that the cost went up is just awful. read more

I've had a wonderful experience at Vism. Everyone is super polite and friendly. The studio is clean and well-kept. They have plenty of interesting art books to look at in case you get bored. Intat is the artist who did my tattoo and I cannot put into words how talented this dude is. His line work is so crisp and neat. The design he made for me is stunning and utterly exceeded my expectations. I had a very rough idea in my head, and he brought it to life in ways I could not anticipate. Additionally, his hand is light (but not too light) and he was very gentle. My tattoo is in a partially in a bony area and it had the potential to be very painful. While it still was painful, it was nothing I couldn't handle. I've gotten quite a few tattoos, so I believe I have a good gauge of this. I don't live here, so I flew out to get my tattoo done. It could not be finished in one day and my flight was scheduled to leave two days after, (which I now realize was bad planning on my behalf). He offered to come in to finish it on his day off. That was insanely nice of him, considering he worked his butt off on it the day before. I will definitely be coming back to this studio to get more work done! read more
