    I. Love. Fenwick! If you need care for your loved one, don't hesitate to consider Fenwick Landing…read more My aunt attends the senior day program regularly and has also received respite care on several occasions. The staff is AMAZING! Administrators, nurses, drivers, caregivers, office staff... every single person who represents Fenwick Landing is a blessing for seniors in their care and their families. My aunt has dementia and the Fenwick day program has been a Godsend for us! My aunt always enjoys her time there. Though her retelling of the details of the day may not be accurate, she has a great time at the center and talks about how "nice" everybody is. I appreciate how Fenwick keeps us informed about the menu, activities, health information, opportunities for immunization and special programs, and any general updates we may need. Whenever there are any questions about my aunt, they call. If she misses days, someone always calls to check on her. They genuinely care about the participants! During COVID, the staff was diligent about maintaining safe practices and ensuring the health of center participants. They enforced the use of masks and informed us if there was ever an incident of someone contracting COVID. They also encouraged and required COVID testing. I could just go on and on about how great they are! There's nothing like being confident that your family is safe and always receiving the very best care. I am SO THANKFUL for Fenwick Landing and the entire staff. I'd give TEN stars if I could. :-)

The love that my mom received was as a family member, not a resident. There were always planned activities and holiday celebrations as well as birthday celebrations. Outside care is always a scary ordeal but we never had a moment's worry, she was always well cared for just as if she was one of the caregivers family members. I can not sing their praises enough.

I recently used Options for Senior America to help care for my father who was under hospice care…read morefor lung cancer. I contacted three services before choosing them. I chose Options for Senior America because they have experience coordinating with the Veterans Administration (my father was eligible for VA assistance), because they require their caregivers to be fully boosted against COVID 19, and because their pricing is competitive. I give Virel Patel, the manager for their McLean office, the highest marks. He coordinated directly with the Veterans Administration contact I gave him and set things up perfectly. Virel is extremely professional and attentive. He responds promptly and thoroughly including on weekends. Mostly importantly, he provided 2 excellent care givers. Not only were they competent, they also were compassionate and caring. They bonded with my father and I felt very comfortable leaving him in their care. I highly recommend that you consider the McLean office of Options for Senior America when choosing an in-home health care service.

I would give more stars to this company if I could! My elderly mom had a knee replacement surgery…read morethat ended up being really tough to recover from and things quickly got over my head. I called Brett Sanders at Assisting Hands and he had someone at my house that afternoon to assess my Mom's needs and a caretaker showed up the next morning. Truly wonderful people who treated my Mom like gold! I'm so thankful for everything they did for us! Highly recommend!!!

One of my greatest concerns, based on interactions with a previous care provider, was lack of effective communication. I brought this up to Brett and his team during our initial meeting and he ensured me there would be plenty of communication. Brett and his team kept my wife and informed of all significant actions, and some not-so-significant actions, and it really put us at ease. Our previous care provider would often send me text messages asking how to do this or that for my mom. Assisting Hands, on the other hand, would provide me with notification when an important event like a doctor's appointment had been completed. I was thoroughly impressed with the genuine care and the professionalism from the management team, and I was equally impressed with the caregiver Assisting Hands provided. As our business relationship with Assisting Hands concluded (mom moved into memory care) I made sure to relay to Brett and his that my wife and I couldn't thank them enough for coming to our rescue when we needed it most. Brett and his team allowed my wife and me some much needed relief. I recommend Brett and Assisting Hands to anyone in Northern Virginia area.

I did my best to support this client during our contract and completed my assigned tasks…read moreprofessionally. Unfortunately, expectations changed over time, including requests to work beyond agreed working hours without pay. I did not agree to unpaid work beyond the scope of our contract, and written communications documenting these requests are available. After I informed the client in advance that I would be returning to school in January and would need to transition out, our working relationship became strained. The working environment became increasingly uncomfortable and difficult to navigate. I continued to proactively request clarification to avoid errors on tasks that were never clearly explained due to the client being too busy; however, communication became frequently unclear and, at times, dismissive. I was also informed of alleged complaints against me that were never clearly communicated or substantiated. I was not previously made aware of these concerns, nor was I given the opportunity to address them directly. Additionally, there does not appear to be a long-term or permanent virtual assistant retained by this client, which suggests a pattern of frequent turnover rather than an isolated issue related to my performance. I always strive to communicate clearly, respect boundaries, and deliver quality work. I wish the client the best moving forward.

My experience caused me never to use them again, and I used them for other services a few years ago. Timeline: - I was to be picked up at 7:30 am on 27 Oct 2022 to go to the surgery center. Pickup at recovery home on 1 Nov 2022 to go back home. - 25 Oct, money came out of the account for service. - 27 Oct (surgery day), I received a phone call from an employee at 7:08 am (was to be picked up at 7:30) stating the person assigned to be my ride bailed and would not be coming. I then had to find an Uber and pay to get to my surgery center (late). - 27 Oct, I sent an email to another employee, "D," who I had been emailing, explaining my disappointment in the unprofessionalism of the employee who was to pick me up. Bailing on someone on surgery day is terrible and inexcusable, especially since it takes time to get to me from their location. The employee never left and seemingly tried to sabotage my surgery. D apologized and asked if they could still pick me up on the 1st. She said she would "personally work on it" to see it through. - 31 Oct, while I was still in pain and recovering, something told me to call the company. I contacted them to verify I had a ride, and yet again, there were issues. Typical. Apparently, the person who was to get me only had liability insurance. This was totally unacceptable. At the end of the day, they said they didn't have anyone for me. I couldn't hire an Uber for this (due to my surgery), so I had to pay extra to hire a medical transport company at the last minute to take me home. This never should have happened and was not only disheartening but horrible. To leave a recovering patient without the transportation they paid for was despicable and a testament to their overall unprofessionalism. I don't wish for this to happen to everyone. Nothing that was told to me transpired, and I have all the email correspondence as proof. I was given the run around about my refund too. I was eventually told that the "check was in the mail." After hearing that, I filed with my bank to get my refund. Magically, weeks later, the recovery home manager called me and said that a check was sent to them for me. Right at Home didn't even send the check to the right place! I had the business shred it. Now I feel there are serious privacy issues because they couldn't even send my check to the correct location. There was no reason to mix up those addresses. Overall, this was hands down the worst experience I've had with a service I paid for. I was abandoned in my time of need, and I don't wish that to happen to anyone.
