When looking for care for your ailing and aging parent as a lone caregiver to catch a rare break... there is stress and worry. When you contact a caregiving business the least one should expect is good communication, follow through with you and that they are communicating with each other. This was not my experience with Visiting Angels. They wasted almost two weeks when I could have been looking elsewhere with their internal confusion. This was one of the better home care agencies I found, most of them are not good. They provided a good aide on a consistent basis, which is more than most agencies could provide. However it was only one aide, apparently they didnt have any more who could work in my area, and the aide ended up quitting after a while citing the care was getting too difficult read more

My parents were able to stay in their own apartment for as long as they did because of Visiting Angels of Pittsfield, MA. Our family was struggling with my father's decline and mom was his primary caregiver - at 94 years old. Their biggest fear was having to be split up or to be in a more restrictive setting other than their home. I can't say enough good things about Sue Carpenter. She lined up dependable help for them and we all could rest a bit easier knowing that she had eyes and ears on mom and dad's situation. The caregiver helped mom with shopping and errands and provided her with companionship and also helped with dad's care. Kudos to Sue C and the caregivers at Visiting angels. I needed in home care during my terminally ill husband's last weeks. Living in the hill towns, it was very difficult to find an agency who would provide services in our rural area. Sue was a lifesaver! Not only did she agree to take us on but I felt she was a true partner every step of his final days, staying in touch and making sure we had staff that was experienced in this type of care. My parents have chosen to live in their home for as long as is possible. Visiting Angels (Pittsfield, MA) started with daytime care, cooking meals and reminding Mom and Dad to take their medicines at the correct times while keeping an eye on them. As Mom has become less mobile, having a caregiver present has become 24/7 for her. Sue Carpenter is a fantastic leader of her team. She attends to all of the problem solving and is proactive in communicating with me to keep things rolling smoothly. It is essential to have an advocate like Sue to help with care situations that require a higher level of attention. As I live several hours away, it is integral for me to have her coordinating caregivers and implementing our care plan. The caregivers are very attentive and kind. They prepare meals and provide companionship, also essential. Visiting Angels has proven to be an excellent care partner and I would highly recommend their services. read more

My mom moved from her home in Northern NY to her apartment at Devonshire Estates in Lenox because she was starting to have memory issues and this would bring her to the same town I live in. Shortly after her move, my job required that I spend 4 days a week in Portland ME, and then my husband passed away suddenly. Sue and the crew from Visiting Angels were able to step in and check on Mom at scheduled times to remind her to take her meds and test her blood sugar. They also spent time helping her get comfortable socializing in her new environment and just visiting with her. Their help made it easy for my mom to adjust to her new environment and allowed me to be sure that my mom takes her meds safely. Sue has been my main contact and works with me to be sure Mom has her prescriptions refilled. Sue always lets me know if she has any concerns about my mom.
