I have no idea what deal these clowns have with the hotel but I imagine they think its beneficial-it turns out it isn't. Being that we had time to spare, I decided to spend a couple of hours of free time investigating travel options with these sale people. With my intention and goal of getting free Zip Line fare ($150) and other dinner certificates! I really enjoy participating in these sales pitch time share gigs when I travel as I accept it as a challenge of wits and memory- as I expose their lies and inconsistencies. Truth is, this is business and you are on their turf. If you are not attuned to their tactics and critical analysis, as a general rule, they do NOT tell you what you need to hear that can damage you-in huge ways. I look at this as more of a sport and find enjoyment in the dynamics. Maybe I am strange, but in the end, I leave with a bounty! Always! When in MEXICO, I usually am the guy with the 2 Mexican blankets over my shoulder, a bottle of Tequila, and FREE tickets for the booze or snorkel cruise. HA HA. But in Mexico, the sport is not for the faint at heart. It is for the warrior. Now back to America. Upon sitting down and establishing my dominance and literally showing them that I am setting my iPhone timer to 90 minutes, they begin the sales pitch. I listen with genuine interest, asking questions, and investigating the "fine print". As the pitch builds up to the final "seal the deal", this is when I present to them all of the inconsistencies and concerns I had discovered....and there were plenty. 1. Club fees/membership can raise on a whim and are decided by a panel of owners which form a board. Sounds counter productive?... read on... **2. Sales people also OWN the same properties so that means that they help to raise prices of fees once you sign. 3. You are given 3000 points a year. These points are used as money in choosing a vacation. BUT***Points are nothing but to confuse/cloud you as these points are the cost of a certain stay or room. In other words, these points are used as their leverage once the desired vacations are filled. They use a website called QUEST. Basically, lets say you are deciding between a 5 day stay in Florida Disney or 5 Days in Vegas-both cost 1000 points. You realize that for 1000 points to go to a Disney resort is a much better deal. It's truthfully a wonderful deal, but once these hot spot vacations are sold out because only a very few deals exist, you they are screwed. Here's how-LEVERAGE & DIMINISHING VALUE. HHGS uses the points as leverage to diminish the value, and now your Vegas vacation which was not so much a deal for 1000 points is now 2000 points. If you are not fast enough to jump on the few deals you are SCREWED. You end up paying more. You are manipulated into feeling you better spend them or lose them. The points change over time to the availability of vacancies. Quest is a dynamic database!! HA-the only people who really benefit are the "Sales people" who are able to jump on these deals AT YOUR LOSS!! Ponzi scheme of the sorts. It wasn't long before they realized I was on to them. At this point, they were afraid and all they wanted to do is get rid of me. I kindly exited the table and they were more than happy to award me my gift. I suffered only a minor flesh wound, and my enemy, stayed on the ground begging for mercy. HA HA What was suppose to take place: -90 minutes of listening to pitch -promised that it was not high pressure sales, "are you interested in our club?" if not, you go with our gifts. -$150 in attraction credit like zip lining, food, ect.... -I was asked for a $20 good faith and would be reimbursed. What REALLY happened: -2.5 hours of a pitch where we had to find our own ride back to the hotel. -basically a little haggling and the two gentleman who I worked with were actually good guys just trying to make a sale. Despite me actually giving them a hard time, they were very kind and probably enjoyed it as much as I did. -$150 was given and they kept their word -they did not give me my $20 back but rather a phony Mastercard with did not work, no matter how I tried to register it. In the end, my boys ate a free dinner as I engaged in my sport, the boys went Zip Lining for free the next day, we ate a filling dinner for free, we had 2 nights of free ice cream during the sun sets, and upon leaving the island, we drove away with 3 FREE T-shirts and a bracelet! This was all FREE in exchange for some free time we had upon arrival. HHGS-If you are reading this, Id like to tell you that your own sales people expose your bullshit by not being honest up front with their customers, and it wasn't so much them but its how you are training them to sell. Good honest people can't sell knowing they are lying. In the end, you simply got what you deserved.

I politely said no with my family caught up to me then the man ask me if I wanted to do a presentation over at the Coral sands. I told him I'm staying at Spinnaker resort, and that my hotel had already taken care of everything. He then continue to follow me and my family as we were leaving going to the parking lot, he drives a little blue car he identified himself as JD even had a dog in the front seat of his car. He basically harasses all the way to our vehicle. He clearly looked like he was homeless, and he had an odor of marijuana that I could clearly smell. I told him three different times that I wanted nothing from him, he then got very upset and said I should take me and my broke family and go back to wherever we're from. So I googled Coral sands and found out that this gentleman worked for a company called hhgs / Hilton Head guest services. Whoever hired that man was clearly overlooking the fact that he clearly looks like he's homeless and a drug addict. bad look for your company. I don't know how people can harass families coming off the beach, how a company would let that happen or even the town of Hilton Head.

Our group of 3 had a main focus on the history of Charleston and Savannah and Kevin delivered. But he knew that we would also need a break and worked in tours that highlighted the charm and feel for each city including a late night stroll with him. His restaurant bookings were so helpful when you travel, finding good places to eat that have a table can be very challenging. To not have to think about where I'm going each night was a blessing. I can't recommend enough having him plan your visit to what you love to do most when you travel.

He is a passionate and seasoned personal concierge who will hold your hand from start to finish and even check in with you once you land back in your hometown. From the minute I opened Kevin's website I just had an amazing feeling. I knew right away that Kevin would help us plan the BEST and least cookie cutter trip and experience for our family. There is so much information online about Charleston. And whilst it's exciting to research a new city, it's easy to get overwhelmed and end up with all the standard tourist traps. Enter Kevin McQuade--he just get it from the start. Within minutes we connected over the phone. He has an uncanny sense of what you'll like and dislike and is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about creating next level SC experiences. Over the phone Kevin was so caring, asked the right questions and keenly listened as he got to know OUR family! It was clear that seeing Charleston from an insider's point of view would give us a very different and off-the-beaten path experience, as opposed to the run of the mill Charleston trip. That's exactly what we wanted! Kevin really took his time to gather tons of information, made amazing suggestions for tours, experiences and restaurants in real time and then went off to do his magic. He makes all the calls and books all of your tours, meals etc. This took all the pressure off and all we had to do was pack and show up! Kevin came back to us with the most unbelievable itinerary. I could not get over the level of detail - all the information for anywhere we were going, interesting fact, travel time, what time to leave our hotel, tips and tricks for each destination, dress codes, things to think about ahead of time, must picks for each menu and so much more. He took all the guess work out and this made for such an enjoyable and smooth trip. All of Kevin's suggested and booked was beyond incredible and we ALL loved everything we did. Everything we did became the new highlight! There was some unexpected rain D]during our stay and Kevin immediately got on to things and helped us do a quick pivot to make the necessary adjustments. My two teens remained engaged, excited and involved throughout and really loved Charleston because of the itinerary and how we spent our time there. In fact, they were sad to leave and can't wait to return. The restaurants selected were next level, with each meal better than the next. Kevin made sure all our lunches and dinners were booked and each provided a totally different and unique cuisine and vibe! We could not get over the food, the service and overall culinary experiences we were having - this from a huge foodie! The food itself was a highlight, not one I was necessarily expecting. We did two walking tours - one with Kevin who showed us beautiful Charleston at night - there is nothing like it and was blow your mind incredible - and another with the fabulous storyteller and super cool and fun Ed Macy that we did during the day was just incredible. We were so excited and filled with gratitude throughout every step that we took in Charleston. We just wanted more and more and could not get enough. Another highlight was the Middleton Place Plantation - one we would never have chosen on our own. It was one of the most sublime experiences including a most exquisite dinner which was all glass enclosed and had the most magnificent views of the garden and the plantation. The history, the beauty, the vastness, it was truly surreal. We stayed in an amazing hotel The Dewberry, which was brilliantly located in downtown Charleston, right by King Street, which is filled with amazing shopping, stores, restaurants, bars, coffee, houses, you name it. But Kevin takes the guessing out and tells you which is the best place to go for coffee, ice cream or even where to get the famous coconut layered cake etc. he'll make suggestions that you NOT read anywhere and would only know about from a local. What I loved so much about working with Kevin aside from everything, was that he held our hand from start to finish and communicated with us throughout our trip. He checked in on us, was keen to hear how things were going, and was available for any questions that we had along the way. I have never been on a vacation and had such a personal concierge service at my fingertips. Kevin is such an authentic, warm, personable, funny, open and just all-around really really great guy who is trustworthy and really loves and cares about his job and is so passionate about planning and creating a perfect trip for you and your family. There really is NO other way to visit Charleston. BEST money if the trip you'll spend! It will literally be a game changer. Your trip will not be the same unless you work directly with Kevin - the Charleston guru!
