We are USA residents and recently sold a cottage at Falcon Lake. The basic real estate transaction…read morewas totally painless because Neil Sullivan had all the paperwork prepared in advance so that the meeting only took about 15 minutes. The complicated part was transferring the proceeds of the sale to our bank account in the USA. A different legal firm that we had previously contacted wouldn't even offer the option of a wire transfer whereas Neil had done such transfers in the past. They can be complicated for large sums of money. Neil managed to negotiate his way through the process and the money arrived in our bank account at a favorable currency exchange rate. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend Neil Sullivan for any real estate legal work including international transactions.

His legal assistant Jen was excellent in providing me with timely updates on the administrivia of things. At no time did I feel pressured or worried that I would be hit with various 'unknowns'. I have experience dealing with other, bigger real estate lawyers - I can say this - Neil's service was more personable and I got the feeling that I was a valued client. He ensured that there was nothing amiss, and often took matter in his own hands instead of pawning my concerns to a paralegal. This saved both time and provided a delightful experience. Furthermore, his fees were not only competitive but were quite a bit cheaper as well. Thank you Neil and Jen!

They never helped me, billed me for $300 and when I called to ask them what was up, they set my retainer fee to $3000. I asked if they would be able to take it from the lump sum afterwards, they declined. So basically i retained absolutely no service with the death of my father and they charged me $3300 and sent it off to the creditors not a week later. The junior lawyer who did this to me no longer works there, but they still have no interest in helping me in any way shape or form other than helping themselves to $3300 of my hard earned dollars.

I would not Recommend this office to anyone needing a lawyer. Do your own research on lawyers for…read moreneeds. This place is horrible!!! They are only interested in the money and nothing else. Read the reviews of lawyers. How many want to friend you Facebook to follow you and watch what you post! What kind of lawyer does that? The one we had was on social media all the time. Making cartoons of himself and posting them on social media. Instead of worrying about his clients. After telling us he has so many nickel dime cases. So your time is best spent making cartoons of yourself like Captain America ? This one didn't listen, tried to tell him about the situation and that we didn't know the individuals but never listened. He was to busy playing Pokémon in his office . When asked who was the Crown attorney he wouldn't tell you. Only say it's not important. Waiting what?!?!?!? You have the right to know. This place is bad!!! This lawyer who told us he needed to be friended on social media. Or else ! What does that mean?? And then telling you if you don't comply he would tell the crown about you. What does that mean ?? He had the nerve to sit back in his chair and tell us he was the " White Johnny Cochran ". Like what ???? And then laughed. Very ineffective council. I can't stress this enough. FIND A DIFFERENT FIRM with lawyers who know what they are doing? Wish there was a ZERO as they don't deserve even this!!!!!

I agreed with the buyer to use the same lawer and recommended McRoberts law office. On our short first meeting with the lawyer, we explained the arrangement and that the buyer would be paying for the transaction cost. On our second, even shorter meeting to sign papers I asked if there was something I would have to pay and he surprised me with over $550 in fees. We discused, negotiated an arrangement and agreed on $408 charge, not ideal, but I accepted the pact. A week later a get a deduction of over $950 ... he fogot to mention all the OTHER hidden fees. I've been calling, emailing and trying to get refunded to the original agreement for months now. Still no luck. Based on my previous experience with McRoberts Law I still have faith someone will help. Katja O.
