I believe this is my 2nd or 3rd year going to Zen. Doctor Eric is amazing and the level of service…read moreyou receive before and after the exam is top notch. I have gone to a few other providers since I have lived in Duluth (since 1998) and Zen is in a class of their own. They verify FULL benefits regarding your insurance. After your exam, you get a full overview of your visit Including your options for glasses and contacts along with your Prescription. A lot of providers will hold that info hoping you'll order from them. With Dr Eric and staff, it's full transparency.

Fantastic practice with very knowledgeable staff. Dr. Van Loon is the most thorough optometrist I…read morehave ever seen. He correctly diagnosed my wife's diabetic retinopathy early enough to preserve her sight. He has spent much time with my autistic son and has helped maximize his corrected vision. I can't recommend this practice enough!

On a recent trip to Duluth, I completely forgot to pack some serious essentials as make-up and…read morecontacts!! (Even my whole 3-1-1 TSA bag... facepalm!) I remembered to bring my glasses (which I rarely wear) on my 6am flight... but I desperately needed my contact. So as I was driving up to Duluth I first searched yelp for Eye Doctors -- no luck, no reviews. :( Next call was to VSP to see which doctors in the area were covered. The first eye doctor on their list in Duluth was Blustin. So I called as I was driving north and spoke with a very pleasant associate, Jessica, who patiently listened to my dilemma. She said that all their appts the next day were booked, but she'd get me on the waiting list. Good enough... she called, there was a cancellation! I was stoked... It was time for my annual eye exam anyways. The entire staff was extremely friendly during my appointment. The appt was timely. The office may not have had as many bells and whistles as some other offices I've been in on the West Coast, but...I felt as though the doctor was definitely more thorough and more knowledgeable. Clearly they care for each of their patients, as you'd expect from a small town office. I didn't check out the frames this visit as I was only there for contacts and my visit went fast. But... I would definitely recommend this location for your eyecare! (And it's supported by VSP Insurance!!)

If you need to see an ophthalmologist or even an optometrist (it doesn't hurt to get a more in depth exam after all its your eyes! )Get an appointment with this doctor. I am very pleased with the results of this surgery.

I had been to this office for the first time previously this year and came in to a scheduled…read moreappointment again 8-9 months later, but did not have my dental insurance card with me. Though it was on file, they somehow could not figure out verification so I ended up not going in for the appointment. So, this was a little irritating especially since everything was fine last time. They evidently are sticklers for the insurance card in hand and it would have been nice to been informed of that. I have forgotten medical insurance cards in the past or had outdated cards but in all cases I have received the service with the medical office figuring out the current policy numbers, etc. The service I received the first appointment was fine and nothing negative to say about it. Just didn't appreciate the inflexibility at the desk. Didn't feel like they cared that they were turning me away, so to that I say 'see ya'.

Dr. Grothe took the time to listen, to answer multiple questions and offered various treatment options. Personally I selected the route of physical therapy along with hyaluronic acid injections to the knee. Gradually, I regained function in the knee joint as well as the tools to maintain both strength and function. Her injection technique is impeccable. Having completed the suggested course of care, I now know that I am not alone in this health journey. Should future problems arise, Dr.Grothe has offered ongoing follow up as necessary. I cannot say enough about the graciousness of not only Dr. Grothe but also the staff at OA, including Julie, Mandy, Jan, Brennon and the MRI crew. All were very kind, attentive and professional. Without reservation, I highly recommend OA of Duluth.

I had a bowel blockage after an ileostomy placement and it didn't show up on ct but her biggest concern was that it wasn't surgical and wouldn't treat it. She's leaving my clinic but I already felt like I had no one here to turn to.
