The person said there were no appointments available that day but when I explained the situation she said to bring the glasses in they would figure out a way to fix them. I went in and sure enough they fixed the glasses (that I was sure were unfixable ). Not only that but they recommended a store to go to to pick up some things. The folks there were friendly and unbelievably helpful. Now the hassles part of the story I needed glasses in the next day because we were heading out to our next destination that was in Texas in the middle of nowhere. I called the "one hour" glasses place and they couldn't use my current lenses to make new glasses (state law) and I needed to get a prescription. I called my existing Opthamologist (his practice was recently bought out by a mega ophthalmologist company) and after multiple hassles and false starts they sent the prescription. I then called the "one hour" place and they said they couldn't use the prescription since it was over a year old (state law - who knew Mississippi the home of small government had so many laws). That is when I called Belk and they made everything good.

Beware their billing practices... Went for an annual checkup on 2/6/26 at 7:45am. All went as…read morenormal with the exam (eye test, dilation, eye pressure, etc). Dr. told me that she was impressed that my vision had not changed in two years and that coming in once/year for checkup was perfect. When I went to leave, the lady at front desk charged me $234. I thought this was very high since annual eye exams had been a simple co-pay. The young lady told me that was the amount that my insurance said I had to pay. I paid it with my debit card and figured something had changed with insurance (that I was unaware of). I was given no paperwork and had to ask to get a receipt for my debit card payment. After getting home, I checked my insurance and sure enough, my annual eye exam should have been a $10 copay. I contacted the office at 10:45am (same day) to have this corrected. I was told that, since "I'd received a medical diagnosis", the visit had been filed under my health insurance. That they could not bill both insurances. Then I was told that my $10 copay was actually included in what I'd paid. I told the person that I'd received no "medical diagnosis", had received zero paperwork, and actually had to specifically ask for even a receipt for payment. Nope, they wouldn't budge. On 2/7/26 at 8PM, I got an automated text message asking if I was satisfied with my visit. When I responded 'no', I got a response that someone would be in touch with me within 24-48 hours to address my concerns... Yeah, today is 2/15/26 and I've received no call, text, or other communication. The $234 charge posted to my bank account on 2/9/26. But, since the automated text message did ask for a Google review, I thought that this is the least I could do. I will not be back. I'm now digging into which regulatory bodies I can report this to. It's not right to improperly bill insurance (and patients) this way.
