I found this place quite by accident, when the other 'hidden gem' hotels of Santiago de Compostela were all booked up. I took a chance on this hotel, having walked past it every day on my way home and it turned out to be a great little find. The hotel itself is in a lovely old building which either overlooks the market (the Mercado de Abastos) or the Belvís Park and is furnished according to its antique interior.
The room itself was spacious, clean and cool and very well furnished, with the ever prerequisite free smellies and afforded a lovely view of a lush green park. It was one of the rooms which opened onto a courtyard shared by other guests in which there was a little terrace garden, perfect for relaxing.
The staff here were great and spoke English and the price, which was around £100 for 2 nights in a double room, was great and extremely reasonable given the quality. read more
