Ron was hands down the single best vendor decision we made for our wedding. Every guest commented on how incredible he was and how much they enjoyed him. He doesn't just stand in one place and play. He moves through the space, connects with guests, and brings an energy that makes the entire experience more immersive and exciting. Beyond his presence, he is an extraordinarily talented musician. I asked him to play Vaseegara (a Tamil song) for my bridal entrance and to collaborate with our pianist (Nalu the Piano Man) for our first dance, and he executed both flawlessly. His performance of Vaseegara brought my family and friends from India to tears. We also gave him full control of the pre-ceremony and cocktail hour setlists after sharing our general music tastes, and he curated everything so beautifully. Weeks later, guests are still talking about how amazing he was. Truly, hiring Ron was one of the best choices we made. If you're even slightly considering him, absolutely do it. Worth every penny and then some. read more

Ron made our intimate wedding so special with his beautiful music. I was quite taken with his expert command of the violin. He played all our requests and also added his own beautiful selections. We were so happy with his performance. Everyone loved him! He is very energetic following us around the chapel, all the while playing music. He is an above excellent violinist, and we highly recommend him. We are very happy to have had him play our wedding music. We hope to engage his musical services in the near future. Thanks Ron read more

I came across Virtuous Violinist on a wedding website. I was looking for a certain violinist to play at my Aunts funeral, one that played with heartfelt emotion and grace. We found that in Ron. On top of that he is a stand up guy, a real pleasure to work with. I wasn't sure how many songs we were going to need at the chapel or gravesite but based off of his Instagram videos, I knew and had faith that he could fill in the gaps for me. We look forward to hiring him again in the future. Look no further. He's the real deal. read more

October 2022 Wedding Event. Would like to start this review with saying Ron exceeded our expectations every way possible. Professional, attentive, punctual, accommodating, and entertaining to say the least. Professional: presents himself well, not a hair out of place and professionally dressed to impress. From booking, to working with our wedding coordinator, all the way to performing for our wedding, he was responsive, engaged, and made us feel extremely comfortable with booking him for our wedding. Attentive: asked very detailed questions about the ceremony, worked with our DJ and wedding coordinator to make sure our vision came to life. Understanding that music makes a difference for almost every aspect of a wedding. Punctuality: showed up on time, equipment tested. Put on a show while practicing in the venue to make sure audio levels are correct and equipment is working as intended. Accommodating: although he has a very great selection of music he plays, he was willing to work with us for a very special first dance my wife and I thought up; we wanted him to play along to Perfect by Camila Cabello for our first dance to really intensify certain areas of the song and it sounded so wonderful how his melody really carried through for our performance. Entertaining: Everyone at our venue loved his performance, from the ceremony, to our cocktail hour, and through our first dance. He had a very special moment playing a tune while one of our child guest danced his heart out! Little moments like these are what we will cherish when we look back at pictures and videos. Do not hesitate to book Ron. You will not be disappointed! 10/5 stars! Thank you Ron! read more

This review has been long overdue but here it goes. Our wedding took place on 04/15/23. Ron is the best! He is such a professional all around. He showed up early and his performance throughout the entire time was mesmerizing. I was the bride therefore I could not see most of it but I could hear it and just hearing it made my bridesmaids and I tear up. When I came across his page on IG I instantly knew I had to book him for our wedding. If I could have splurged to have him there all night I would have. That's my only regret. Our guests could not stop talking about him during and after the wedding. I am definitely looking for any excuse in the future to book him again. Having him there truly gave our wedding that magical touch! He was also so kind to everyone. Book him! You won't regret anything! Thank you, Ron! read more

If you were ever on the fence about hiring a stand-alone violinist, this is your little push to say DO IT! And make sure you choose Ron. He is absolutely fantastic and even a month after my wedding, I'm STILL getting incredible feedback on how amazing our violinist was. He engages with the guests and to top that off, he's such an awesome human. His wide range of music knowledge and ability is astounding. I originally found Ron on Instagram while looking for musicians for my wedding. Decided to take a chance after not seeing a single negative review anywhere on the internet. I'm really glad I did. My guests absolutely loved him and I've already referred him to everyone I know. If I ever have the opportunity to hire him again, I absolutely will. read more

I wish I could give 10 starts! I hired Ron for a professional cocktail reception for 350 guest at the Hilton Costa Mesa this July. I wanted to make sure that I had entertainment in the evening so the attendees would not leave to go home after a long day that started at 7AM. When everyone walked our of the grand ballroom and into the foyer where Ron was performing they right away started to circle around him. HE IS AMAZING!!!! I have looked at all of Ron's stuff on IG before hiring him and it looks good, but is SOOO MUCH better in person. We literally had 10+ people around him with their cameras out taking videos of him. He is classy, entertaining, music is beautiful, and it is so kind and professional. He is worth everything he charges. You 100% get what you pay for. All of my guest continue to talk about his performance. Thank you Ron for sharing your talent with us and for making my event a huge success! read more

Virtuous Violinist - Sunset proposal with Ron, the virtuous violinist - Musicians Near Me

My wife and I decided stop/start playing music on a speaker system for our wedding ceremony was not going to make the cut. So I thought who wouldn't enjoy some live music right? I searched yelp for a violinist and was truly blessed to find Ron. From the moment I messaged him to our first conversation to our last, Ron was absolutely a pleasure to speak to and work with. He was so kind and so helpful that whenever I spoke with him, it was like talking with an old friend. He is incredibly warm and extremely professional. I felt like I hired an assassin to come to my wedding and snipe hearts, because that is exactly what he did. We agreed upon him playing for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Ron was punctual and arrived early as promised. He was quick and efficient with his setup. He set the mood while our guests arrived to a pleasant and elegant vibe. We also preplanned with Ron which songs we wanted to walk down the aisle with, and his timing and execution were impeccable. We did not have to worry about oops the laptop having to freeze and putting a damper on the mood. Ron knew exactly what he was doing and was very aware of the situation at hand and his surroundings. I wish I got to experience the cocktail hour from our guest's point of view. Unfortunately, I was busy taking photos immediately after the ceremony and can only hear him play from a distance. But literally all of our friends and family either asked about Ron or commented how amazing he was. Do not hesitate to hire this man for any event. He is worth every penny. He was truly a blessing that transformed our wedding into an epic evening. Ron, if you are reading this, thank you again for making our day magical! You Rock!! read more

If your looking for a live performance during this pandemic, don't hesitate to book Ron for an event. He was organized, sent me a playlist a week prior to the event, communication was superb, he helped me surprise my bestfriend for her birthday. He even came in on time for the surprise, played in the balcony, and gave her a gift. Ron is so thoughtful and passionate about his craft. I really appreciated it when he asked for song requests and also catered to his audience. He even pulled off a hip hop violin medley over Drake's instrumental and a bday song at the end. Wishing you all the success Ron! Thank you again for making everything worth it! read more

Thank you Virtuous Violinist for the wonderful mini performance What a memorable event that was much needed by all of us. Extremely responsive, flexible and thoughtful! He was able to make it happen on short notice and willing to take on songs he was not familiar with with only a day notice. My family enjoyed your performance so much...it was what we all needed during these times of no live music events and no summer concerts in the park. This is a real review and Ron performed on 10/11/20. He came professionally dressed with equipment, on time. Excellent communication. Ron is so personable and talented! Thank you! Jennifer read more

Having officiated hundreds of weddings, seen and worked with so many gifted and talented musicians, I can only say Ron Kao of Virtuous Violinist is above the many I have worked with! He covered the background music as guests were arriving, then parts of the ceremony which required sensitivity to the moment, then the recessional to the cocktail hour. During the cocktail hour the songs selected were performed while walking or dancing among the guests, entertaining and engaging guests while they were responding with applause and videoing Ron as he moving through the venue. Sound levels were pleasant as guests were able to converse. I highly recommend Ron for any special engagement. He is very professional, easy to work with, and was all about being a blessing to those in attendance. - P Glenn read more
