We were in Seville on vacation and wanted to watch the World Cup game. This was about the only place nearby that was playing it, plus we saw they had good reviews, so we figured we couldn't go wrong. It's a small place with about 10 tables inside. Apparently everybody else likes this place too, because with the game on it was PACKED. Not even room to stand. Luckily there were some tables outside where we could still see the game inside, so we sat down there. The servers were still very attentive even though it was so busy and we were outside. We started out with some cruzcampo, the local draft beer and also browsed the tapas menu. They have a great selection of food here. We tried the palomitas de pollo, patatas bravas, ensalada rusa con lagostino and Thai curry mussels and shrimp! Everything was fabulous and portion sizes were good. Prices can't be beat for the awesome food. This is an awesome spot in town to enjoy some brews, bites and friends.

It's a hip, modern bar with a pub feel. I don't speak any Spanish, but ordering wasn't a problem (they directed me to a server who was fluent in English), and service was friendly. If you're American and are used to free water, get something else because they brought me some super fancy ultrafiltered nonsense, and I instantly regretted not just getting a beer. Now the food: the chorizo tapas was excellent, and the herb olive oil sauce was a perfect accompaniment. Prawns were far from traditional and came unshelled (didn't matter to me), but I enjoyed the Thai satay twist they decided to use. I'd say all their tapas are American palette friendly takes on traditional tapas, so if that's what you're looking for, this is your spot. Everything is very flavorful and reasonably priced, but their knives are weirdly shaped so that they have to rest either on the edge of back of the blade... I dunno man UPDATE: came here again because everything else was closed and this place is bomb. Again fantastic service and great environment. Wish I could have experienced authentic late night Spanish tapas, but it appears those places all close early in Seville. Fortunately this gastropub was an excellent fallback. This time I had the tuna tapas (by the way, it's an assload of tuna) which was probably some of the best tuna I've ever had. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Would, and did, come back again.

Food: Surprisingly, food was pretty tasty. Both the creamy rice and the skirt steak had amazing flavors and both were cooked perfectly. Service: A bit slow, but probably because it was fully packed when we went due to a famous soccer match. However, staff were very nice. Atmosphere: Great place to watch soccer matches! read more

Cuban sandwich and Tinto de verano were delicious! Would recommend. Also had food available at 4:30 PM which other places didn't.

Outstanding food and service. No problem that we didn't speak Spanish. Friendly crowd with lots of soccer on the TVs. Food was absolutely amazing. Fish fritters with green curry was so delicious - we had a second order. A guest we met there said the establishment is unlike any other in Seville, as the tapas choices are unique and not standard tapas fare. read more

If you are looking for good craft beer on tap or in a bottle, this is the place. As a hophead, I was very happy to find out they have a tap dedicated to IPA's. No worries if you aren't an IPA fan, there are usually 6 different beers on tap. The bottle selection is the best I've seen in Sevilla. The kitchen is solid as well. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. We've tried the hamburger, cannelloni, quesadilla, and stir fry chicken --- all have been delicious. The servers are great. They are attentive and quick to assist. A bonus for me is that almost all, if not all, speak English..........they are very patient with me as I butcher the Spanish language trying to place my order or ask a question --- they quietly listen to my broken Spanish and then respond with very competent English. Makes me laugh every time. I like the music selection. It has been everything from Van Morrison to Coldplay to the Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen to Arcade Fire. The volume is kept at a level so that you can have a conversation but still hear the music. If you are looking for a reliable, fast WiFi connection, Viriato has one of the best connections in the city. The bar is also well set up to watch futbol games, although I wouldn't call Viriato Bar a sports bar, the screens are arranged so that there good sight lines from a good portion of the bar. The only disappointing about Viriato is the terrace (or is it called a patio in Sevilla.....I'm always mixing it up) only has three tables. But that's a small thing because sitting inside is still good if you can't get a table on the terrace. They have big front doors that always seem to be open and the front wall is floor to ceiling windows that makes for a very pleasant setting. From what I've seen during our handful of times at Viriato, it is a place where locals and expats tend to hangout. Strongly recommend if you are looking for a place to grab a decent pint with others or need a spot to get some emails done. read more

I loved this spot! SERVICE: Always friendly. A little inattentive but nothing compared to other wait staff in Sevilla. Told us when we were ordering too much food, really appreciated that (they were right). FOOD: Great variety. Tapas and larger portions available but the smaller portion was usually enough for me. We especially enjoyed the stir fry, the chorizo (!!!), there's a dish with meat and the most amazing pesto mashed potatoes (yum). Good beer selection. Some specials depending on the day. CONS: The quesadilla was just okay, & the sandwiches were not my fave (I asked for a chicken club and it only came with egg? I was like "well, this is almost a chicken?"). My friend wasn't a big fan of her sandwich either. All minor things that don't stop me from rating this place 5 stars. OTHER: Great vibe, really relaxed and the inside was way cute. I like the location as well. BOTTOM LINE: This became our go-to place; definitely recommend! read more

Modern & trendy gastropub. Great location, energy, & selection. No sangria, but Caja (red wine & lemonade) for 2€, not high quality, but it'll do. Lots of tapas & other plates. Definitely worth a stop, especially during "siesta" time when everything is closed. Great beer selection. read more

Food is not good; Service is not good. My family and I dined here this evening while on vacation in Spain. The place is really cute, but not very good service or food. There were 8 of us dining out. Three of us decided to order the club sandwich. It looked good when it arrived, but they put way too much sauce on it. This ruined the sandwich and we could not continue to eat it. My boyfriend ordered the same sandwich, but without the sauce. He said it was blan and needed flavor. Then, one of my cousins ordered fried chicken only to find that the chicken was still RAW as he bit into it. They took the chicken back to the kitchen, but didn't say what they were going to do. It looked like they brought back the same piece of chicken that he bit into. Not only this, but our server FORGOT someone's order all together. Thus, by the time she got her meal we were all finished eating. The food was brought out all at different times for everyone. I feel that the service would not have been this way if they had more staff on duty. It looked like there were only two people working the floor. I would expect that of a place that is pretty packed with only two people working. Our experience here was not a pleasant one. read more

One off my worst meals ever. Ordered the veal ribs which were served up in 5 minutes on a quiet Monday night. The outside meat was tough as old leather and the inside really cold with white congealed fat. We left the place as quickly as possible with a bad experience to remember in Seville. read more

Looking for a great bar.. this is a great place to relax and watch the world go by. Though in the backstreets it's a hive of activity. Great beers on tap and the food is fantastic as well. Sit outside or sit inside and watch sport while listening to great tunes. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Waiters speak English which is a bonus. read more

These people are amazing. Such great customer service!! Arrived late to Seville and not much was open. Came in around closing time, and they served me with a smile. Even after the kitchen was trying to close I received a wonderful meal. I highly recommend this spot and would gladly return!! The tacos were amazing, the mussels were done to perfection and the empanadas were immaculate. What great ambassadors of their city. Muchas gracias!! read more

Great selection of craft beers! Not an easy thing to find in Seville. The food was delicious, gastro-pub type, with a lot of different and great options. We had the fried rabbit with mustard greens, the chorizo plate, and the lamb korma. All very tasty! read more
