At checkout I was informed my total was $7.95 but they did not except cards (even debit cards) for any purchases under $10.00. I did have cash in my purse but given this particular purchase was for my business account I preferred to use the card associated with my business. I do not carry cash from my business around nor do I want to unneccessarily buy more stuff with my business card. I get it that banks are charging processing fees that small businesses in particular do not want to pay and many convenience stores won't accept purchases under $3 or $5 on a card. However, maybe it would be better for them to pay the processing fee and still make some profit off my measly sale versus my reluctance now to go back at all, even though they do have a nice selection of fabric. No wonder people shop online these days.

I did self checkout, had a couple voucher (enough to pay for my one item), checked out and clicked emailed receipt. I walked out I was getting started down and said "thank you." They didn't say a single word until I was then followed out to my car saying "umm ma'am can I see your receipt?" I said "yeah sure it's in my email." She then went "oh.." I then told her that she could have a little customer service and say "bye" to people as they leave. I WILL NOT be returning back to this Michael's at all.
