Vips is a ubiquitous chain of diners in Mexico, and on a late-night, I stopped by for a light supper in this brightly-lit, lively, family restaurant. The Caldo Tlalpeno soup was classic comfort food with a kick--it contained chicken, vegetables, rice, Oaxacan cheese, and an entire chipotle pepper! I also had a fish fillet baked in foil with a green marinade and served with cactus (nopales) salad. The salad, which also came with onions and peppers, was nice and refreshing and had a nice acidic burst. Overall, the food here was rather simple, but it took an eternity to arrive and the prices were rather expensive for what I got. read more
