I recently took my truck into this repair shop, and overall, it was... an experience. The work did…read moreeventually get done, which I suppose is the main goal, but the process left a bit to be desired. Communication wasn't exactly their strong suit--I had to follow up more than once to get updates, and timelines seemed more like suggestions than actual commitments. There was one employee--a bald guy with glasses--who seemed to be running the show. He clearly knew what he was doing, but his attitude came across as a little dismissive, like customer questions were more of an inconvenience than part of the job. Maybe it was just a busy day, but it didn't exactly inspire confidence. On the positive side, my truck is running fine now, so I can't really complain about the end result. Still, a bit more transparency and a friendlier approach would go a long way. If you're not in a hurry and don't mind doing a little extra follow-up yourself, this place might work out alright.

I have had service work done on 2 different boats over the past 10 years. Prior to my last visit I…read morewould have rated Blake's a 3 star. In the past the work was usually done when they said that it would be, but they where not good at communicating with me about what needed to be done and when the work was completed. My last experience with them will be the last, I will never set foot in their business again. The last time I had my boat in, I called and talked to them about what I thought the problem was, and they told me that they could look at it the end of that week or early next week. Having not heard from them in that time frame, I called them to ask what they had found. They told me that they had not gotten to it yet, they said next week.. Two more weeks passed, called again and they informed me that 2 new boats had blowen engines and that they needed to work on those first, they again told me next week. Six weeks after I brought it in, I called again, they had looked at it and told me that it needed a new gear set in the lower unit. I told them to do the work. Still not hearing any thing from them, I continued to call them every week, they keept telling me that it would be next week. The last time I called they informed me that the lower unit had been repaired, but when they tried to start the engine it locked up, and that the engine was full of wheat seed, most likely moved in by a mouse, not to mentioning that they are right next door to a farm implement dealership, and that it sat out in their back lot for 8 weeks. They told me that the engine is most likely ruined and that I should "Cut your losses". My biggest problem is that it sat so long in their back lot, and that the engine should have been run, to diagnose the lower unit. If there was engine trouble it would have been discovered before the repair of the lower unit had been done. If the engine had been run beforehand and the engine was filled with debris while it sat in their weed filled back lot, wouldn't it be their liability. When they did try to start the engine, they blew the head gasket, bent the valves, and cracked the block. The only time my phone rang from them was when they they called and said "you need to get your boat out of here" I don't normally do reviews, but this needed to be said.

For me, after several days of rain over a few states, it was developing a roof leak. And not just a dripper, but a gusher. Checking with the manufacturer web site to locate a dealer with repair facility became job one. I started contacting each one the site gave me, but the answer was always the same: sure, we can get you in ... at the end of October. What good is that answer in an emergency. But this was gonna be warranty work. So what! Then I called Lake Regions RVs. I got a salesman who told me Ron, the service manager, wouldn't be in for a couple of hours. I said I'd call back, and took a chance, heading in their direction. Actually, it was the way I was going anyways. When I spoke with Ron two hours later, he explained they only handled Thor Chateau line, but he could fit me in on Friday after noon. A roofs a roof, he said. I had to wait two days to get in, but the Minnesota weather cooperated and I just enjoyed the serenity of my surroundings. Arriving as scheduled on Friday, Ron and his men went right to work. Within an hour, they had sealed up a large 6-7in crack and the surrounding sections. When I asked what I owed, I was told nothing, glad they could help, sorry I had to wait two days, that they would just bill it to Thor as warranty work. A roof is just a roof, after all. Who knows when I'll be past this way again, but if you are, stop in and say hi to the great folks at Lake Region RVs.

I called Lake Region RV to see if they could just take it off so we could make our trek home. Unfortunately they said they were too backed up to fit us in the next day. It would probably take less than 30 minutes to help us out, but they had no interest even when they know they are the only option in the area. It was a bit of an emergency situation as we can't continue on with it hanging and don't want it to cause an accident. Pretty disheartened by the lack of small town America hospitality in Devil's Lake.

I live in a small town so buying a car can be challenging, most of the time has to be done remotely. They took time out of there day to give every piece of information I requested and gave an amazing price with no hidden fees, even gave me a great and fair deal on my trade in without seeing it in person. When I was able to make it out to them they already had all the paperwork ready and was out of there in less than an hour.
