One of the three local electrician companies in this area Vine was one of the two that responded to my request for an estimate. They were the only one to schedule a time for their estimator to come in person within 1-2 days and really assess the situation and give me a thorough list of options. So already major points for responding promptly! My project was installing a ceiling fan on vaulted ceilings. I think I contacted them through their website contact form and got an email response directly me to call them to schedule a time for the estimator Nate. The women at the office were very helpful and able to help me easily. Nate arrived bright and early at 8am. He was very thorough in discussing possible options with me. He even went up into the attic. When I mentioned we recently moved in and am not very familiar with the house yet he was incredibly helpful asking if I have any additional electrician questions! That's really going above and beyond! Value wise they are very competitive! The other quote I got was $500 and $700 depending on if there was an existing fan that's simply replaced or an all new install. Vine beat both of those quotes and even have a 5% off summer promo of the estimate if approved same day. I called back with a request to change some details on the installation. The office was able to get the message to Nate and he called me back within the hour. We finalized the quote and work was scheduled early the next week! Lindoro came to do the installation. Highly recommend Vine! We recently sold our home and during inspections we discovered our main panel needed to be replaced. Vine was our 4th company to come out and provide us a quote. We had Lorenzo show up at 7:30am. After confirming we needed a panel replacement, he suggested I contact PG&E myself to speed up the process. I took his advice and had a PG&E tech show up at our house 15 min later. The tech said he would have to pull our power that day as it wasn't safe to leave. Luckily Lorenzo came back right away and developed a plan with the tech to get the panel replaced immediately. We were literally without power for only a couple of hours. 3.5 Stars We had 3 light switches replaced and this service resulted in 3 visits. The 2nd and 3rd visits were to correct issues that occurred or didn't occur at prior visits. Third time is a charm I guess. We were not charged extra for the subsequent visits since the issues were technician errors. Initially we were charged a flat rate ($115 for parts and $205 for one hour of labor) during the first visit, even though the work was completed in 30 minutes. The labor was not prorated. The parts seemed overpriced but what can you do? We did receive a senior discount of $25. The 3rd visit was conducted today by Josh or Jason and Chase. Sorry hubbie thinks his name was Josh. I thought he introduced himself as Jason. Both guys were professional and accommodating. They arrived on time, and wore booties to protect the carpet. Really appreciated that. Overall I would give them another try. Hopefully all can be successfully accomplished next time during the initial visit. read more

This past summer, we were fortunate enough to hire Vine Electric to install two 50-amp wire runs to our kitchen from our panel. The work included running wires up into the second-story attic, bringing the wires over to the space above our kitchen, and running the wires down to the kitchen on the first floor. One run required additional wiring to feed the wires through a trench in our slab to the island where the cooktop was located. I couldn't be happier with the great people at Vine! From the free estimate, to the adjustments to the project, to the scheduling, to the permitting, and to the actual on-site work, everything was outstanding! Patrick, the estimator, was punctual and very professional and friendly. He clearly explained the tasks to be performed, how much time each one would take, and the materials/supplies required. He was very positive and optimistic about the job and a very reasonable-priced estimate arrived in my inbox the next day - super fast. I spoke a few times with the project manager, Rosa, by phone. She was great, extremely accommodating and patient with changes I had requested. Soli, who answered the phones and sent notifications, was also very friendly and helpful. On the day of work, the two employees, Cole and an apprentice, showed up a little early, which was perfect. They were very professional, courteous, and very competent. I had obtained estimates from three companies, and the work for all of those included opening up drywall in a bedroom to run lines to the attic. But Cole figured out how to avoid that - totally awesome! It was *very* hot, and they were working in the attic, and it was a full day of work. Wow - I don't know how they handle that kind of heat, but they did, and they did not complain, not even a little bit. They worked very hard. The final invoice amount was spot on - within $20 of the original estimate. It was a very honest and accurate estimate. The cost of all parts was listed, along with the total hours and hourly rate. The estimate was very competitive. The quality was top notch too! We've been using those two new lines a lot, and there have been no issues at all. I feel that Vine is such a great small-business role model! They are an incredibly honest, hard-working family-run business. Every person on the team I interacted with was terrific and treated us with kindness. Anything that I needed done to make the job perfect was well received. We worked on installing a new smart Leviton panel on the outside to complement the recently installed solar. They're great about working with Solano county and doing things by the book with permits as well. We had to do trench work, panel and new circuit routing with an EV charger. I needed a 10 circuit manual transfer switch and a 30 amp receptacle installed inside my home for a solar generator for whole home power back up due to all the outages we've been having. I called Vine Electric for an estimate and they responded promptly three days later. I received an estimate and three days later the electrician arrived and completed the installation. Needed an electrician to change a switch from controlling the electrical outlets in a bedroom to the ceiling fan. Also requested to install a new light kit in a 2nd fan. I was quoted that the job would take 1 hour ($215/hr for labor) plus a prorated rate if the job took longer. I was given a 2 hour window for the electrician to arrive. After waiting for 3 hours with no notice, I had to call 2 times to find out the electrician had to go home sick and would need to reschedule. Wish they would have notified the clients, but understandable. They did offer a $20 discount for the inconvenience. When the electrician arrived a few days later, he looked at the light switch and immediately told me he didn't bring any supplies to rewire the switch to the fan and didn't have time to complete the job that day. He did install the light kit (which I provided) within 10 min, but declined to start rewiring the switch. After 10 min, he left and said I would receive an estimate for the rest of the work. I was charged 1 hour labor ($215 - $20 discount = $195) for a 10 min light kit installation alone and received a quote a few days later that 2 additional hours of labor would be needed to complete the job ($430 plus $30 for wire). The new light kit works great, but I expected an electrician to come prepared to complete both tasks that were specifically requested prior to the appt. If he needed specialty equipment, I would expect him to purchase it prior to the appt or reschedule both jobs to a different day. Alternatively, they could have provided a discount on the rewiring job since the electrician wasted 50 min of labor in the initial visit. Overall, very disappointed in the customer service and transparency in how they charge customers. I would recommend finding a different company to do business with. read more

As we mentioned last year (2022) in our review, we hired Vine Electric to do some electrical work on the house that we recently purchased. They did an amazing job. We informed them that we would use them for our future electrical projects. Last month, I called their office to let them know that we are ready to get started on our next project. Rosa, who answered the phone got all the information that she needed from us. After 2 weeks, I got a phone call from Rosa informing me that they had received the permit from the City and are now ready to schedule us. We have agreed on the date of Dec. 8th. Today, Alejandro Varela and Erick Alvarado came to do the project. They were prompt, introduced themselves, and started working. They did an amazing job. We were pleased and satisfied. The inspector from the City came and inspected their job and signed off on the permit. That means the job was done accordingly and passed. I was restoring a house, and interviewed several Electrical contractors to do some basic work. When Vine Electric came out to provide a quote, they spent time to educate me on the implications of what I was asking for, along with some better alternatives. I appreciated the education and explanation, and ended up selecting them. The scope of work included replacing a Zinsco panel from 1954, along with installation of ground-rods (the house didn't have them!), and updated outlets, and to update the existing GFCI outlets (they were installed incorrectly years back, and I needed them fixed). The work was done with permits, and Viner took care of interfacing with the City and PG&E (something other contractors would have had me do). They sent Vincenzo Cervantes out to do the work. Vincenzo is an extremely personable and knowledgeable person, and also extremely patient with my many questions. The work that we had scoped out was to be performed over several weeks, and Vincenzo was assigned to my effort. He works efficiently and gets things done. He's the best. The base of the pendant came apart, the guys were so kind and helpful, told us to call them when we reordered. We have used Vine twice and we would not use them again. The first time, we had ceiling fans installed and had a few switches and outlets replaced. Their technicians simply lack attention to detail. They used the wrong size extension rods and the wrong ceiling mounts on the fans so they had to come back and fix their work (even though I left the materials out for them). The second time we hired them to help us convert our stove from gas to electric. One of their technicians stepped through our ceiling with Vine to get it repaired in a timely manner was a nightmare. We ended up having to hire someone ourselves and they credited us back the cost. When we hired a different electrician a few months later for an issue we were having, he informed us that one of the new connections from the stove install had been left extremely loose and could have caused major damage to our brand-new stove. Additionally, when we asked them about an issue we were having, their tech said we needed a new panel to fix the issue, and when we got a second opinion that was not the case whatsoever. Incredible service! Needed a replacement GFI installed so my outside Frig would continue to work. Even during the Holidays they had an excellent electrician come out right on time. I asked for a 7:00 am to 9:00 am start window. He was here at 7:00 am on the dot. I know little about electrical wiring other that it can shock the hell out of you if you don't know what you are doing. I have a custom built home that is 25 years old. Excellent electrical system but as the years pass GFI's particularly will fail, not often but this is the second one I have replaced.
