The apartments are clean and secure with garages and gated entrance. It is a small complex and quiet.

Of course there's always pros and cons to living in the city, i.e. lack of parking, interstate noise, and things of that nature. However, for the most part, the property's staff does an amazing job keeping the grounds looking amazing, quickly replying to maintenance requests, and making you feel genuinely cared about. I also enjoy the fact that most neighbors are respectful of each other in regards to noise and doing their part to ensure the property stays looking good. Sincerely, K M H

Scummy business practices, Deplorable application process; completely mismanaged experience. Leslie…read moreKimble, the overly bubbly clueless leasing agent is scattered brained and lacking the appropriate information to give serious prospective tenants transparency and ease of process. Bellawood has dozens of apartments vacant listed online for weeks. I was initially rushed to apply under the soft threat of "they may be gone if you wait! You should apply ASAP" Standard sales tactic. I watched the price plummet $50+ dollars in the weeks each unit stay unrented. Then when I went to apply for 9/2 move in date it was arbitrarily changed to 10/3 move in. When I asked Leslie why it was moved I got a bright shiny "Well, I don't know!" she deals in syrupy faux polite "I don't know"s. When I spoke to the manager Sydney about this, she explained it calmly and logically offering a closing comment of "there's no way Leslie would have known why" So, leasing agents don't have proper information to give to prospective tenants? WHY? Ridiculously juvenile antics and word salads from half baked brains. Total Confusion, chaos and mismanagement when there are tons of other properties in the area. All of the women there are surface southern "nice" but social politeness doesn't supersede intelligence and professionalism. I contacted Tonti Properties and filed a complaint against Bella Wood. To add more confusion, Tonti Properties is different than the corporate entity Tonti, which owns a large amount of SE Louisiana apartment complexes. Additionally, there is another business name that appears when applying after being debited for app fee: Creekwood Elmwood, LLC. So it's a bunch of scam companies triangulating their schemes with haphazard, sloppy tactics. Seems like a scam. Happy to be looking elsewhere and away from this nightmare of stupidity. I can't imagine having to deal with these type of people on a regular basis in a place you want to call home! These apartments will stay unrented. Enjoy Hurricane Season!

Went to the people who live there asked could they contact me they said sure. (They called me for the first dress that was delivered )the company sends the orders separately. The package was opened. I hope the enjoy it.

From toilets, to sinks, my front door was rusted out on the bottom with a half in gap and it took them three week for them to get me a door. The worst of them all is when the apartment above us had their AC unit burst which caused flooding into our unit and the paint was falling off the wall. They didn't cut out the wet parts of the ceiling and wall they just put more paint on it and called it good. Now a couple months later my family is all experiencing upper respiratory problems. My wife suspected it was from mold so I pressed the ceiling where the water damage was and it was so brittle that my hand went through. I put my camera up there to see if there was any mold and there it was! I told the front office and they brushed me off saying "we'll get around to it" but I can't have my family living in a house with mold. They didn't seem to understand how dangerous mold is especially for little kids. The whole time they were being negligent and not trying to help. I definitely would not recommend this place is trash run by a bunch of incompetent crooks.

Adrienne has always been one of my favorite people there, super helpful and fun to talk to. I would ask to speak with her almost every time I called because she's quick, informative, and a great listener. Tonya is a great manager and all my experiences with her have been 10/10. And there's Aline Bryant, who I see most other people have already commented about. She's sweet and means well, but can come off very rude and condescending at times. If you're reading this Aline, thanks for the help (at times) but please try to work on your listening skills and comments that you say. They don't always come across as you mean them. Staff aside, I didn't deal with the deposit issues and charges that other people have experienced so I can't really speak on that. Tonya was very helpful and understanding during our final walkthrough, but as with any apartment you should fill out every detail on your pre move-in sheet to avoid probs with that. Beautiful pool area and property in general. I'd move here again, but not to the 3rd floor since there's no garbage chutes. Thanks for everything guys! Especially Adrienne and Mike Brandon Badeaux

I lived here for 3 years. The apartments are beautiful & spacious and the grounds are gorgeous. I…read morewould not choose to live here again for these reasons: 1. Noisy neighbors. For 3 years I had two noisy residents below me. The second set of residents were the worst. One was a musician. He would yell & play music loudly at all times of the day & night. I would complain, sometimes multiple times a day. For a full year and a half I just had to endure the noise, because all they would do is send warnings, which were ignored. Even worse was when he started getting louder as they learned there were no repercussions. It made for a horrible living situation. 2. Appliances. They were old & didn't work well. The washing machine usually required to be run at least twice to get a load clean. Same thing with the dishwasher. I stopped using the ice maker in the fridge. The water line had growth in it & no matter how many batches you threw away, it persisted. The oven had seen better days as well. 3. Poor business ethics. This was the worst. Entergy did not transfer the utilities back to Palmetto Creek for a month after I moved out. They had no record that I had requested this. I requested reimbursement for the time after I moved out of Palmetto Creek from 1st Lake. The bill showed that the last prior reading was on my move out day so this should have been an easy request. Instead I got someone calling me telling me that they weren't going to pay despite acknowledging that they used the power for the entire period that I was requesting reimbursement. Too bad, so sad was their attitude. This is very poor business ethics & theft of utilities. The person I spoke to was incredibly unprofessional. 4. So no, I will not be giving them good reviews or recommending them to my family, friends, or coworkers as requested. Steer clear of any 1st Lake property. I wanted to add as the response makes it seem that they actually care about their residents. I was told by the man that called me "I guess we won't go out of business", when I told him how unethical he was. If you want to stay where they don't care about their business ethics as long as they make money: stay at a 1st Lake property.

My girlfriend and I had to take care of all the apartment rental paper work over the phone and via fax (Tonti Management - Windsong's property management- doesn't have/use email.) and the process was fairly painless. The two ladies working with us were very helpful and friendly. Making sure we had all the paperwork taken care of prior, we showed up on move in day needing only to sign a few more things before getting the keys. This was our first time seeing the apartment and overall we were pleased. We requested top floor (3rd floor) to take advantage of the vaulted ceilings and view of the pool (there are 5 total pools on the property). The only thing I was really hoping for was more updated/modern kitchen appliances and bathroom, other than that I'm really pleased with the property. Several experiences we've had so far: -Found out the previous tenant had "slept walked" out the window, falling three flights. -A portion of the units had caught on fire due to an A/C unit failing. (These apartments are currently being renovated). - Our A/C didn't work for the first 5 days - It took them 3 days before they could fix it (Sat, Sun, Mon). Not complaining about how long it took just a bummer that it wasn't working when we moved in. -This is apparently a common thing down south but we have found several very living Cockroaches skirring about the apartment - YUCK. If you decide moving in before 6/1/2013 get a hold of me, put me down as a reference/referral. I think we both get a discount on rent :)

It's not just a little smell here and there: it is nauseatingly strong!!! So much to where we have to sleep in the living room sometimes because it seeps in through the master bedroom closest and the bathroom. Not to mention that I have a baby in the house. That isn't right!!! They don't even seem to care about the health of their tenants. They are more worried about the rights of smokers than that of other people affected by it. They also have gone to great lengths to say that we are the ones smoking in the apartment because we had a jar outside for a family member who smoked a couple of months ago when they visited. That's absolutely ludicrous! What would we gain to lie about that? But there have been no butts in it since then. It's just ridiculous. They have no interest in making us happy. They told us we can switch to another apartment but it will cost more! Are you kidding me? This company sucks. They've charged my mom for things that she shouldn't have been charged for and haven't been completely honest with her. They don't address their issues and they will blame you and charge you for anything and everything. Don't rent here unless you like unprofessional management and inhaling other people's disgusting cigarette smoke AND marijuana smoke!!!!
