This cost her much pain and led her to cry and scream, which the staff dealt with in the most humane and compassionate manner. They spoke softly, encouragingly, and continue to let her know that they were doing the best they could to help her without causing her any pain. She is always clean, dressed and clean clothes, and in a good mood when I come to visit. The staff to patient ratio seems extremely high, and the executive director is very approachable. I would refer my other clients here in this part of DFW without thinking twice. What a wonderful secret.

It is clean and cheerfully decorated with comfortable rooms. Family members are welcome to stay with patients overnight, which was perfect in our situation. The staff, from administration to housekeeping, is friendly and caring. You can see everyone is happy to be here, and they provide the most compassionate care in everything they do. The physical and occupational therapists are so encouraging and patient. There are daily, FUN activities for the residents, and the participation is high. The atmosphere is a happy one! If I ever need rehabilitation (knock on wood!), I will insist on coming here.

Patel) As she went in for her procedure the Doctor had cut her main carotid artery that is the main source of blood and oxygen flow to her brain and she had lost a-lot of blood and went into a stroke. Prior to her procedure they told my mom that the procedure was only going to take 2 hours tops later ended up being several hours than expected. As my father waited in the waiting room to be called back to see her. Doctor Vishal C.Patel took a while to call or notify him to go back. Doctor Vishal C. Patel came out and finally notified my father about the "accident" HE had made to my mother and kept apologizing. My father was upset and couldn't look him in the eye. Later that evening around 10:00pm my mother was transferred to Baylor Scott and White in Downton Dallas and is now in critical condition and not doing so well, is currently on a ventilator. Dr Vishal C. Patel had the audacity to walk in to my mothers room and apologize, but an apology that didn't sound convincing or caring. He stated that this is one and million cases and rare to happen. But why did it happen to my mother ? We are really disappointed in Dr Vishal C. Patel and that there is nothing they can do. If anyone decides to get a procedure done with any doctor please do your research prior to your procedure so nothing happens like this again!

This time is here to get a vaccine and I told the nurse I don't feel too good I feel dizzy and like I'm about to pass out and I don't want ti get the vaccine anymore instead I want medical attention for how I'm feeling. And I also mentioned I won't be able to drive home with the state I'm feeling now. She proceeded to insist that I still get the vaccine and that anything else I was feeling was non of her business. She said if I want yo get checked I have to schedule an appointment for another day or go downstairs to the urgent care. I walked downstairs to the urgent care and waited for attention. They said they can't see me until I make a payment. I asked if they can first treat me and later we can figure out a payment plan. She said that's not possible and if I want immediate attention I have to go to the ER! I told them I don't feel okay to keep walking around and they had no concern. Worst experience I've ever received

Their specialized rehabilitation teaches the patient how to live life from a wheelchair. As terrible and as sad as an injury like this is, no one was in there moping. The positive energy that fills this hospital is amazing. It's truly incredible to see what a person can do with the right information. This rehabilitation center provides the patient with information that, while not hard, may have never been utilized. I give this place five stars because the staff, every one of them were sincere, positive, and accommodating. I have one exception. A doctor who seems to have fallen into a rut of repetition, unwilling to personalize his specific and unique authority. Dr. Lance Bruce. When questioned about a credible, however unique (to the patient) condition, he blew it off and was rather rude. I am not going to get into specifics, but my family has health care experience so we weren't just talking out of our respective you know whats. But since there is such minimal contact with this doctor, even if you are his patient, and since the real support comes from everyone else here, I still give this place an A+ for making such a terrible situation for someone into a manageable lifestyle. Family is also welcome at all times. Each patient has a weekly meeting about their progress in which their doctor, physical therapist, nurse, social worker, and family are in attendance.

First, I stood up for a young lady who was being harassed by another female "inmate". Resultingly I was transferred to a different unit. This continued progressively as I was moved two more times. Each time it was to a more violent arena. The last was the most violent because most guys looked like they got incarcerated for bar fights, etc. The food was absolutely horrible. We had to line up and march to the cafeteria. I saw no one who seemed to have any dementia, other than a couple of young guys who constantly paced. My son was out of the country so I freed myself without medical approval. If you actually love someone don't put them in this hell hole. It's also like a maze with all these different hallways and units.i am 77 years old and it is like I say THE MOST HORRIBLE PLACE IN THE US.

Within the first few days, I was struck by the way the residents of Carrollton support this nursing home. It really was quite amazing! It should be no surprise that while he was in the nursing home proper, I found it necessary to be there as much as possible, making sure that his care was as kind as possible. My job, then, was to introduce the staff to the man they could otherwise never know because he was quite non-verbal due to Lewy body dementia (LBD). He was a professional commercial artist and photographer who had destroyed most of his work before anyone realized how sick he was, so storytelling became my primary educational tool. As a healthcare professional well-versed in bedside patient care, if someone's care could use a little improvement, I would jump in to team with them, being gentle with this very thin man who was aroused to some level of consciousness if something hurt. All the while, I told stories about his surprising humor. Or how he walked so rapidly yet never missed a tiny flower that needed to be photographed. And what I knew of his work as an artist in the Army during WWII. One day he shocked me by saying that he wanted to go to a hospital back home; that was the opposite, really, of his Advance Directives I was following. But his brief return to conscious awareness trumped that, so I spoke to the RN on duty and we were quickly moved to the current Texas Health Presbyterian-Dallas, where I stayed in the room with him around the clock. Once his diabetes, nutrition and hydration were all optimized, he became more alert and one day told us that he wanted to stop all treatment. That immediately moved him to hospice status. We moved back to Heritage Gardens, this time to the hospice wing. Because the census was low, I was invited to stay with him, sleeping in the other bed in his room. Again, I watched over and participated in his care, which went much better on that wing. I will forever be so grateful for that kind offer from Heritage Gardens. That time in the hospital and that final month in hospice care proved to be some of the most meaningful of our lives and happened so easily because of the calm, peaceful, supportive environment we were given. Many thanks to God and Heritage Gardens!
