The instructor is fun, engaging, and helpful, and the group of attendees makes it such a great time every week. They offer a wide range of classes (not just lining dancing) during both the day and evening, with options that are free or available for a small fee. There's something for all ages, from kids to seniors, which makes it such a welcoming and inclusive space. The center itself is spacious, clean, and has convenient restroom access. There's also rental space available for events or gatherings. Class offerings range from language and crafting to games, dancing, gardening, and more -- there's always something new to try! There are several other community centers in Pompano as well, so it's worth exploring them to see what each location has to offer.

This review is specifically for the Leonard Weisinger Community Center…read more We were looking for a venue for my daughter's sweet 16 birthday party and found this reasonably priced place. For residents on the weekend the price was $75/hr. with a required $200 deposit you can get back after the event if all is well. This included round and rectangular tables and chairs. The capacity was 180 maximum. You have the option to pick between two rooms but the other room has a stage which was preferred but it was booked already. There is a different rate for nonresidents of $100/hr on weekends I believe. There is an orange panel that runs along the wall making it a bit difficult to mask in decoration but we managed to do so with long length table cloths and backdrops. There are bathrooms with multiple stalls for use but there is not a place to get dressed other than the bathroom. We were unable to return home due to setup cutting close to the start time of the party but we made the bathroom work and it was clean. There is also a full setup kitchen with ice. I don't believe you are able to cook in it but you can keep items warm. There are multiple entries to the room and venue. The parking was limited but we made it work. I was unable to get after setup video or pics of it without the party going on but I was able to find pictures and video on Instagram. The staff was very accommodating allowing us to view the venue before booking and access before the party to determine how we could setup. We were given more than enough tables and chairs. I was able to receive the dimensions of the room to help plan setup. Overall, this venue was a great choice for our budget and we really enjoyed the party. After cleaning we were able to receive our full deposit. If you're looking for a budget friendly place and live in the area this is a great option.

City Hall is a beautiful building and there is free parking at the parking garage just behind City Hall very convenient specially for town events. The event is highly organized and brings tons of local vendors and food trucks. I noticed about 11 food trucks including beer trucks. I tried some churros with nutella from one of the food truck. Beer mug $18 really cold beer! Vibrant celebration of Bavarian culture. Live music by the Brussels sprouts Polka Band. There was also a weiner dog dash race really cute and getting all the attention from the crowd. Nice to see the community spirit amongst our residents. Looking forward to next year's Oktoberfest.

Proof that government buildings don't have to look like dental offices from 1978…read more Who knew a City Hall could have its life this together? The Coral Springs City Hall looks less like a government building and more like something you'd find in a brochure for "Suburban Efficiency Monthly." Modern architecture, palm-lined walkways, and enough glass to make you feel like transparency is more than just a metaphor. Coral Springs wasn't even a city until the early 1960s, when it rose out of the Everglades like a neatly zoned phoenix. It was master-planned down to the last cul-de-sac, with an official ban on billboards and a commitment to keeping everything clean, safe, and family-friendly. The city's motto might as well be "Order, Sunshine, and HOA Compliance." And somehow, it works. City Hall is the nerve center that keeps this beautifully beige dream alive. Need a permit? They'll help. Paying taxes? They'll take them with a smile. Lost in bureaucracy? Not here. The staff are polite, efficient, and shockingly human -- which in government terms is basically magic. It's the kind of place where you can drop off paperwork, discuss city improvements, and still find parking without needing divine intervention. The landscaping's tidy, the air-conditioning works (crucial in Florida), and the vibe is more "civic pride" than "bureaucratic dread." The most well-organized place in a city that alphabetized its palm trees. Coral Springs is one of the nicest, most well-run cities in South Florida -- clean streets, great parks, and just enough charm to feel like home. And City Hall is the polished engine that keeps it all running smoothly. In a world of chaos, it's nice to know someone's keeping the sprinklers on schedule. Bureaucracy has never felt so pleasantly air-conditioned.

The Your Patio Store is the anchor of the plaza. There are a few eateries which include Porfa Coffee, Times Square Pizza and PS Green Cafe but parking is a frustrating disaster with decrepit ancient meter parking monitored by the City of Fort Lauderdale - unsure if they actually work. Located at one of the busiest intersections in Broward County, N Federal Hwy and East Oakland Park…read moreBlvd, you will find this MiMo gem, the Times Square shopping center. MiMo refers to the architecture style Mid-century modern. Started in Germany after WWII, it is a style that was popular from the mid-1930s to mid-1960s. The hallmarks of the design are simplicity and functionality. Expect to see sleek lines, little ornamentation, gentle organic curves, and mixed materials. Mid Century Modern is considered Broward's signature architecture. The Time Square shopping plaza was designed by architect Charles McKirahan in 1954 and built in 1957. McKirahan was one of the most noted mid-20th-century architects in Fort Lauderdale. He married his architect school girlfriend and together they founded a firm with more than 100 architects which they expanded internationally. McKirahan's architectural studio was located in the shopping center. He is responsible for the stunning A-frame of the the original Mai-Kai. For this plaza his design elements included screen block walls, geometric forms and glazed curtain walls. Sadly he passed away at the young age of 44 in a car accident. His son Charles "Chuck" McKirahan followed in his parents footprints and also became a celebrated architect. While the Ft. Lauderdale historical society did a great job of preserving the pioneer history of Ft. Lauderdale along the New River, this shopping center did not receive the same treatment from the Historic Preservation Board. It was renovated in 2019. The most prominent building on U.S. 1, a curved building with red brick screen wall, had the defining wall removed and replaced with sliding glass doors. Today you can still see some of the MiMo design elements McKirahan added but it is looking a little run down. The plaza has a furniture store, Times Square Pizza, and Smarty Pants, a bar to name a few of the businesses. If you are a local you have probably passed this plaza a thousand times without a second glance on your way to the beach. True fans of architecture and history know however that is worth a second glance.
