What a REFRESHINGLY AWESOME service experience!! I have been here several times over the years but they do not know me. Walked in with my favorite pair of Merrill's on and asked about re-stitching since the soles were coming apart. Learned that the stitch was not all the way through so not much they can do. THEN, he take my shoe back and works on it to glue all the loose seams for me. Then he does the other one. After a few minutes of shoe shop magic, I wear them out and the shoes look great. Now, you have an even more loyal client!!!!! Merrill does not make this shoe anymore and it is the most comfortable pair of casual shoes I own. This review is going to be short and sweet. I took my black patent leather pumps to be cleaned, and they were not. Nothing was done to them. Now, you have to pay in advanced and now I see why. When I picked up the shoes, not only had nothing changed, but the man who gave them to me said I put something on them. When I told him I didn't, he said, and I quote "yes you did." So, now not only were my shoes not cleaned, this man was accusing me of lying. He did not offer me my money back, nor did he try to make things right. I walked in and the man behind the counter was repairing a leather strap on a Louis. "You fix bags?" I asked with a smile. For those with overpriced handbag addiction (like me) you know all repairs are usually shipped overseas and can take 8-12 weeks to be returned. After my trusted shoe repair guy retired, my high heels had nowhere to go... I finally found the Village Cobbler after a few disheartening attempts at other places of getting my heels fixed. (Side note: don't trust any place where they "send off" the shoes to be fixed) Village Cobbler has so far done an excellent job and mending my torn up, worn out, high heels. Alex is an excellent cobbler and provides amazing customer service. I'm OBSESSIVE about my shoes and had to move to a different cobbler after I had a bad experience with my previous cobbler damaging my favorite pair of boots. I've taken about 4 pairs of shoes to him so far in the last 6-8 weeks and he's done an excellent job on all of them, all the while also providing excellent customer service and helpful advice on caring for them. He was extremely patient with me when I constantly texted him about a new pair and very understanding when I came in person to pick them up. I would give Alex 6 stars if I could. He repaired the straps on my favorite pair of heels and dyed the leather back to perfection. I was a little upset at first because my shoes weren't ready until a week after promised (he explained he wanted to get the color right), but when I got them that all went away. I specifically came to this cobbler because I read online that he does great work. I dropped off my husband's shoes and showed them to the owner. He said that he could resole them with no problem. As these used to be my husband's favorite pair of shoes, I confirmed again that he could get the job done. He accepted and also took a purse that needed repair due to wear and tear (small holes around the exterior bottom corners). when I came to pick up my items, the purse was okay but he changed the shape of the bag completely. The shoes were ruined. I paid almost $100 for the shoe repair and then immediately drove to Goodwill to donate them. Instead of getting a real sole and stitching it on, he used some kind of rubber material and glued it. He took a great pair of Cole haan dress shoes and turn them into something that Walmart wouldn't even sell. Avoid the spot or demand a refund when the job is not done right. read more

This place is a hidden treasure in Sandy Springs! They are friendly and do an awesome job with shoe repair. I also just had another great experience with them in repairing my daughter's backpack, which had one of the straps partially torn off. I dropped me shoes off for a strap repair, and after following up in person three times over seven weeks I decided to pick them up and take them somewhere else. Unfortunately the owner did not remember, or record, that I'd already paid $30 in advance for him to order the red leather to make the strap. So at least i got my shoes back, but I'm out $30 and need to find another shop. I can't believe it takes more than two months to replace a plain 1/2 inch strap on a pair of clogs. read more

I am so pleased with my boots that I had repaired here! The soles fell apart on my favorite pair of boots and I wasn't sure if they could even be repaired. I thought for sure they were goners but he was able to salvage them. The craftsmanship is amazing!
