My rating is 3.5 stars…read more After work last Thursday, I wanted to pick up some hand cream for my mom. She had cracked skin on one of her hands for at least a week. The hand cream that she was using wasn't healing a thing. I found one brand that seemed promising while doing some research online. The site said that it was available at this particular Shoppers Drug Mart. The store was conveniently on my way home from work. Then again, I cut across most of the GTA, so I pass by a ton of stores! This store is in a plaza. There seemed to be a Food Basics or some green-painted grocery store that has closed down. Shoppers Drug Mart is in the corner further down. The parking area can be a bit chaotic. It's an older plaza and the lanes are more narrow than what I'm used to in suburbia. This store has been here for a while. It has everything that you'd expect it to have, including a grocery aisle. I walked every aisle and could not find the hand cream that I was looking for, which was disappointing. However, there was a Gold Bond one that was on sale. It has been approved by the Canadian Diabetes Society. It has proven results. It was also on sale. I bought it! I dropped the cream off at my parents' place. My mom said that she would try the hand cream out immediately. This morning, I spoke to my mom. She said that three hours later, she noticed a huge difference. She no longer has cracked hands. Nice! She asked me whether she could pay me back. Hearing her say that this product works is all that I wanted. The lone cashier at this store was friendly and made sure that each customer was okay. She helped out a senior ahead of me. I liked the care that she showed and the help that she gave. I'd come back here again when I'm in the area. (157)

I don't require a pharmacy on a regular basis yet the pharmacist remembered my name after only a couple of visits. Impressive. Everyone there is quite informative and if you have a question the person serving you doesn't know, they make it a point to find out from someone else. I don't have a drug plan and was even offered a discount on the already low dispensing fee. I get my annual flu shot here and they are always kind and gentle. Prescription are filled quickly and I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else, especially to the larger chain establishments. If you are in the Brampton area I would highly recommend this pharmacy.

I was looking for compression socks, gel insoles, and coconut oil. I had a very hard time locating the 2 of the 3 items they did have. The socks were spread out around the store and the selection was extremely thin. I finally found a suitable pair in another section of the store. I didn't have to hunt as hard for the insoles. Thankfully some of them were on sale and I was able to get an appropriate pair on sale. I was not able to find any coconut oil except in the skincare section for $19. I was looking for the Vita Coco brand which I can find in the organic section of my local Fortinos grocery store. There was nothing of the sort, no coconut oil at all in the sad section of food items here. I'll have to shop somewhere else. I expected more of this location in such a large mall but it was hugely disappointing. The beauty section takes up half the store. I'll hit my local Shoppers over this one from now on.

Let's just say that my bladder needed some attention. We are in lockdown 3.0 here. Where do you go when you need to find a washroom in a lockdown? My current answer is Rexall. My observation for a while is that the washrooms are always available at this drugstore, lockdown or not. I did a search on my maps app and this Rexall was my closest one. Brampton is amazing in that I drove around after my visit and found two other stores within five minutes. Markham only has two Rexall locations, so Brampton is cooler in comparison! This store looks fairly new. I had no problem backing into a parking spot and walking in. The doors are automatic, which I like. Hand sanitizer is staring at you before you enter the second set of doors. This Rexall is organized as you would expect. The lone washroom is at the back, on the right. I turned the door handle and it was locked. I couldn't tell whether someone was in there because it was so quiet. I decided to check with a lovely woman at the pharmacy. She said that it should be available and walked over with me. We determined that someone was in there, but was exceptionally quiet. I waited with my bladder still intact. Finally, an equally nice male employee came out, said that he was santizing everything, and welcomed me into the washroom. I thanked him. If my bladder could talk, it would have thanked him, too. The washroom was indeed clean. I was so thankful that it was sanitized and there. Afterwards, I went shopping. I found the sale section and ended up with a discounted shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask set for just over $10. I like Rexall's snack section. I got a huge bag of Russell Stover sugar-free assorted candies. I have been buying and enjoying these small bags as of late that I felt the larger bag would be far more economical. I do need to pace myself because I can definitely devour the entire bag without much thought. I had to wait to pay for my items. There was one woman who was chatting with the cashier who would ultimately cash me out. The other cashier was dealing with a customer who seemed unsure of which lottery she wanted to get a ticket for. The cashier that I got was nice. She asked whether I selected "bonuses" on my app. I didn't get it what she had meant. She said to select the plus sign for bonuses. Oh, she meant deals! I had already done that. I'm not a fan of manually adding each one, but it's not a bonus to me to work at adding deals. To make a long story short, I got an extra 20,000 Be Well points. That was the bonus that she was referring to. She asked if I needed a bag. I declined and fought carrying all my goodies to my car to save a plastic bag and five cents. Staff are so friendly at this store. The snack aisle is great. I have a thing for pistachios as of late and there was a sale. When I'm in the area, I'd stop by this drugstore again. (166)

Rexall is actually a pretty good place to stock up quickly on office supplies. Our list had scissors and tape (both of which we found for cheaper than at a nearby Michael's), first aid kit labelled specifically for office use, and COVID hygiene products like antibacterial wet wipes for hands and cleaning surfaces. This Rexall has a few self check-outs and/or very friendly cashiers that can you help you out. We didn't have a Be Well card, which is their loyalty program and they were able to get us up and running with a quick scan of a new card. The card is free but you have to register your email online with it to redeem points.
