Scammers and dishonourable liars. Avoid Villa Plus, do not book Villa Carmen (Cala Galdana) in Menorca. Do a first a Chargeback and then a S.75 claim through your credit card, if they scam you like they did to us. We booked a heated pool villa in mid- September in Menorca, Villa Carmen, the water was always cold, the weather was only around 20 degrees and we needed pool heating, which is why we paid for a villa with a heated pool. Instead, the pool was freezing at 17 degrees never going up to more than 23 - 24 degrees, as the heating was working only 4 hours in the whole day. The pool is uncovered and remains cold and dirty all night and most of the day. We spent our holidays disputing with rude unhelpful Villa Plus Reps in Menorca who did nothing, just fobbed us off. They also didn't tell us that the washing machine was already broken until our clothes got stuck in it and got ruined. They said they didn't replace the washing machine before we arrived because the villa owners (Manolo and Dolores) have to give their approval, but they are too stingy. Villa Plus wasted our holiday with a useless visit and again to replace the washing machine 3 days later, so we had not use of it for most of our stay. The villa itself is old, sad and dated, with wardrobes stinking of mould, so we could not use the wardrobes. There are steep dangerous stairs everywhere which is not advertised on Villa Plus, including no banister on the landing as you go upstairs, so you and your children can fall down if you're not careful. In the bedroom downstairs you can hear the toilet flushing upstairs and the water tank being replenished, which wakes you up at night. The pool table is unusable as it was left to rot outside. The pool area is the smallest space on just one side of the pool, the loungers barely fit in it so you can't walk past them. The pool area is always in the shade, so don't expect to sunbathe. It's totally disappointing. Wifi doesn't work, it stops all the time, there are notices saying you can't stream anything. Villa Carmen Galdana has been misrepresented by Villa Plus, so we want our money back. Shame on Villa Plus who ruined our holiday and acted dishonourably when we complained, despite the evidence we took, we even bought a pool thermometer to take our readings. All we did on this holiday is battling with Villa Plus and their obnoxious reps for days on end, while taking video evidence and photos of all the defects of the villa every day. We filed a formal complaint to Villa Plus but they replied with the most absurd excuses and did not offer any compensation. We started a Chargeback Claim through our credit card and, if it doesn't succeed we'll do a S.75. In the meantime, take our advice and do not use Villa Plus, they quickly take your good money but they give you rubbish. No need for the middle man when their services are substandard and their support inexistent. read more

Used Villa Plus Twice - Never Again I've bought 2 Villa Plus holidays in the last 2 years. One was good and one was disgraceful. Unfortunately, it's not until you have a bad experience that you realise how poor Villa Plus is. The in-resort teams aren't able to do any more than odd jobs, but they'll try and paper over the cracks enough to warrant taking your money. When you raise concerns or complaints, be it direct, on a review site or on social media, you receive a generic cut and paste reply. There really is no personal touch. It becomes apparent very quickly that this company is purely about taking money from you. I fully understand that is how a business works, but it's slightly unfair to advertise how much the company cares - it doesn't. Villa Plus is quick to brag in responses about the claimed 3.5% dissatisfaction rate and how great that is. This for me speaks volumes about the morals of the company. There are over 16k reviews on Trustpilot, that's over 500 customers who have had a bad experience - but stuff them, who cares? Collateral damage, focus on using the good reviews to rake in more business. I've found the attitude towards dealing with a complaint is more focussed on shutting the customer up and getting them out of the picture. In my opinion, the better way of dealing with complaints is to ask 'How do we change this customer's opinion from a negative to a positive?', then interact on a personal level. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing the generic cut and paste replies - 'very sorry you remain unhappy', 'rest assured a full investigation will be carried out', 'we will respond in due course'. I holiday in a villa most years and I will not use Villa Plus again. I'm aware that taking my custom elsewhere is merely a drop in the ocean for a company that annually turns over in excess of £50 million but I believe the morals of a smaller, more select company will far better suit my needs. read more

Absolutely terrible experience.. management feedback very poor.. do not use.. I stayed in a villa in August which was not cleaned to a decent standard..  but more than that our swimming pool turned green after three days due to the filter and pipes broken.. we had no pool use for 2 days whist this was being fixed, due to this I picked up a stomach parasite which meant I had severe upset stomach and sickness on return which I've only just fully recovered from... including two lots of antibiotics and as a side note green hair too..(which I was advised to out tomatoe ketchup in) No grips on the steps getting in so my nephew slipped and hurt his leg. It's been over 2 months since my initial complaint and around 6 emails and I have finally heard back from villa plus advising that they sympathise but take no responsibility . This is disgrace and disgusting especially as I have photos of the issues and have been so unwell. Do not use this company.. we spent over £2.5k and they are awful. Very  disappointed. read more

Without exaggeration, Villa Plus are the most untrustworthy, unprofessional, vile company we have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Our family of 8 (half of whom had flown all the way from California) booked one of the company's 'luxury' villas in Portugal based on their shiny marketing, marketing we now know to be full of camera trickery, photoshop editing and outright lies. The moment our car pulled up to the property, our hearts sank. Talk about first impressions, the external gate itself was worn and broken, only opening from the inside. After being let through by a leaving car, we could only stare in silence at the unkempt, cluttered gardens that led towards the villa itself. It was at this point we noticed just one of the sharp cliff-drops overlooking the woods below, a drop that would certainly have killed any child unfortunate enough to be playing nearby. Villa Plus knew our booking included two small children, but clearly felt this to be an acceptable risk for the money they were making from us. As if that wasn't bad enough, the villa itself can only be described as absolutely disgusting. Walking through the front door your eyes are immediately drawn to the chipped marble, filthy tile-work, mould and half-finished paint jobs throughout. The property was so utterly derelict and uncared for, it was reminiscent of a cliché haunted house. The kitchen was particularly shambolic, with a mismatch of equipment, all of which filthy to the point where the hob itself had rusted over with baked-on food remnants. Same can be said for the outdoor 'barbecue area'. All bedrooms had ancient, crusty mattresses that were irreparable, with sheets which looked disease-filled. Windows were painted shut and dirty towels lay anywhere and everywhere, each room being worse than the last. The final straw was finding faeces upstairs. There was not one redeeming feature on the entire grounds, and after a few minutes of stunned silence we knew we couldn't possibly spend a single night in this awful place. We are by no means snobs, but as a family with a background in property, we could not see any conceivable way to rectify this villa other than to knock it down and start again. We drove to the nearest bar and desperately searched for a nearby hotel. Upon informing Villa Plus of everything we'd encountered they sent a representative, who photographed the same shocking scenes we had ourselves already photographed, and clearly sympathised that we'd been put in this situation. Having said all that, it's now months later and the powers-that-be at Villa Plus are still refusing to refund the considerable sum of money we handed over for a property that was not only un-stayed in by us, but generally unsuitable for human habitation. Do not pay attention to their clever marketing and fake reviews, this is a borderline criminal organisation who deserve to be investigated and shut down permanently. Needless to say we are seeking legal advice and will be sharing our experience with absolutely everyone. read more

We arrived for a 2 week holiday to find this unclean, disgusting, cockroach infested Villa. VP staff told us it was normal to have cockroaches in a villa in a hot country! We were treated like idiots who have never holidayed in a hot country before and irritants for complaining. The pool was disgusting, full of dead spiders and roaches but this too is normal apparently as the wind blows them into the pool, wow, and the a/c didn't work which is also normal apparently as there are no engineers available in the summer to fix it! Several phone calls to VP offering us no suitable alternatives (nothing was like for like and looked equally unclean) we were offered a full refund. Having been assured of that we organised and payed for a new villa through a reputable company and enjoyed the rest of our holiday in a clean cockroach free environment. Upon arriving back to London VP told us we would not be refunded after all. Subsequent correspondence failing to recover promised monies of £6000. Villa Michaela, Binibecca, Menorca. Booked this villa for a week. The villa was very expensive but the details and photos on the Villa Plus website looked gorgeous and with it being August we know that rates are highly inflated. We were told that a rep would be available on arrival to direct us to our private transfer to the villa. On arrival at the airport in Mahon no Villa Plus Rep in sight. Waited around for a good half hour before she turned up - disappointing start. Arriving at the villa cleaners had not turned up, the villa was in quite a state from the previous occupants. Again, disappointing. The cleaners did turn up eventually. The villa is very old and worn nothing like the photos on the Villa Plus website. The bathrooms are very worn - bathrooms needs replacing. Peeling paint on bedroom wall. Burn marks on kitchen surface and top of microwave, dishwasher did not work, kettle handle became so hot on boiling that it could not be picked up without a tea towel. very old and dated kitchen. Bedding and small bath towels horrible quality. I could go on. The only good thing about this villa is that the pool was great! We paid over £3,000 for the week for this villa. Totally ripped off - Villa Plus you should be ashamed. Please do not book this villa. I would never use Villa Plus again. read more

Booked villa son Gabriel in son parc for the end of May. We arrived early but were able to get in so effectively had an extra day,s holiday. And the villa was great and exactly as it appears on the website. The kids loved the pool and the pool table. We loved the space and the BBQ. Caroline from Villaplus was always on hand and very helpful. Son parc is a great quiet resort. Lovely beach and not far from Fornells which is probably our favourite place in Menorca. Would thoroughly recommend both the villa and villaplus! read more

Villa Jero Llenaire - Mallora. My family and I booked 2 weeks at the above villa through Villa Plus in January 2016 for May 2016. Our first complaint is that we were unable to pay over the internet and had to book over the telephone, this was no fault of our own and we were charged and extra 1.5% for the privilege of speaking to an agent, and considering our experience with Villa Plus we think that this is to scam more money out of people. 2 DAYS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE, we received a telephone call to advise us that there were building works being carried out next door to us, we were advised that when we arrived we would be meet by one of their representatives and that they would take us to another Villa so that we could choose between the 2 for our long awaited holiday. WE WERE NEVER MEET, by a villa plus rep, and when we did see the rep some 2 days later she was totally unaware of a 2nd villa for us to choose from. BUILDING WORKS were a understatement , there is a fully functioning building site less than 10 yards away from the villa in which we are staying in. THE NOISE is at times unbearable, noise of machinery, , Spanish builders, drilling, banging & crashing and deliveries being craned off onto this site, basically everything that you would expect from a fully functioning building site. I don't know about you but my idea of a relaxing holiday is to get away from this kind of noise and would you really like to lay beside a pool and experience this kind of disturbance. Our main grip is that we are a family of builders, and building sites do not just spring out of the ground 2 days prior to our departure, this is a well established building site and we feel that this is information that should have been passed onto us , so that we could have the choice of cancelling the holiday or choosing another destination, Villa Plus have manipulated that decision , furthermore I have e-mailed Villa Plus whilst out here and we haven't had a response an apology, explanation NOTHING. We even paid for transfers to and from the airport and we checked with our rep as to the time of when we were being picked up in the morning which is tomorrow and she knew nothing about it and when she checked the details back her end there was no record of this and she informed us that she would have to contact the UK in the morning and get back to us. We were informed that if there was no record we would have to arrange another transfer and pay for it, again more incompetence by this company. In short we would NEVER NEVER NEVER use this company again, our holiday experience has been ruined and the villa itself is very lovely, but holidaying next to a building site is not an experience we wish to repeat. WATCH THIS SPACE as to the response from Villa Plus and any offer of compensation for the distress and inconvenience to a much long awaited holiday, which has been manipulated by a company very quick and eager to take our money, and then lie to us with making false promises and denying us the prior knowledge of us being able to make our own decision and choices. We have used Villa Plus twice before and had no problem, we considered them a good company with a genuine will to offer good villa holidays. However this time the villa was shabby, not very well cleaned, grubby towels and old bed linen. Damp mould and cigarette burns on the sun loungers. However, the worst thing is that the villa is right next door to an open air cafe/bar. They play music full volume from 9am til past midnight and have a huge childrens play area with go karts (and squeely tyre soundtrack), bouncy castles, 8 trampolines. The noise was relentless. We contacted Villa Plus on the second day and asked to be moved but this wasn't possible. The rep did say that it was a shame we were at Villa Tres Arcos as it's the only villa in that kind of location although this information isn't on their website. We pursued the problem with Villa Plus and have been really surprised by their lack of honesty and concern surrounding this whole issue. They don't think that their villa description is inaccurate, even though it makes no mention whatsoever of the constant noise. They have basically put the blame on us for booking a villa that didn't suit our needs, even though our choice was based entirely on information provided by them! Apparently from the aerial view photos on their website we should have known that what looks like the roofs of some buildings is infact a cafe/childrens play area etc etc. If you look really closely in one of the photos you can see a black and white thing away in the background. Apparently we should have recognised this to be a giant inflatable whale! If we weren't so upset about our holiday being ruined we'd laugh out loud! Silly us for not correctly identifying these structures! We have sent them both video and sound recordings in case they were unaware of just how constantly noisy it is at this villa or in case they thought we were exaggerating or being over sensitive. They have completely ignored these and very deliberately not made reference to them in any subsequent correspondence. Therefore, I have to assume that this came as no suprise to them and that they know exactly how noisy it is but do not care as long as they are taking your money. Overall I feel they have shown their true colours, when things go wrong they really do not care one iota whether or not you enjoy your holiday or receive value for money. It's all just "lip service". I was even more sad that this holiday was so awful as this was the last time that my dad will be able to travel, so this was our last holiday together for us and his grandsons. The Villa Plus attitude is basically one of admit nothing and don't apologise so the only route left to the unhappy customer is to take legal action. Obviously, they are secure in the knowledge that most people have neither the time nor the spare cash. When things go fine, when it does what it says on the tin etc any company will look good. The true measure is how it deals with its' customers when things go wrong. The dishonesty displayed by Villa Plus has been a real eye opener and not what we expected at all. How about some honest wording on the website? If the noise isn't considered a problem by Villa Plus why not advertise it? Because anyone looking for a private villa with its own pool is unlikely to book one with a description that stated 'constant loud level noise for your entire holiday'. We certainly wouldn't have so a bit of upfront honesty would have been appreciated. As would some honesty and an apology after the holiday. read more
