I have traveled the world extensively. Service is what sets truly high end hotels and resorts apart from low quality. This hotel maybe able to pull off mediocre quality on occasion but not during our stay.
To begin with we were not able to reach the front desk of the hotel. We called at least 5 times. We left a message, the call was not returned. Upon arrival we waited at the front desk for approximately 20 minutes until service arrive. We attempted to make a reservation at the restaurant. We were told there were no reservations available. Then we were informed there was a dress code (We were both on very nice Patagonia clothing, button up collared shirts an khaki pants. As we had been on the Tour Mt. Blanc).
Once in the room it was slightly dirty but not too bad. We both showered and discovered the water was luke-warm for my wife and mostly cold for me. I brought this to the attention of the front desk. Within 15 minutes the front desk women came to the door and asked if she could feel the water. My wife was naked and in the bathroom. I asked her to wait outside until she was dressed and finished. I shut the door. 2 seconds later the desk attendant was banging on the door as if she was the police and demanding to be let in....At this point we were fed up with the staff. We went and had dinner at a very nice hotel 5 min down the street. W asked them
If they had a room available and they did. We went back gatherEd our belongings and left.
I would suggest that all American travelers seek lodging elsewhere. Especially if trekking and skiing. This place simply is not up to the standard of a luxury oriented hotel. read more
