The location is however hard to beat if you wish to be in the center of Cremona. The hotel has an impressive all black facade and the reception area also is very nice. The reception staff were most pleasant and they spoke excellent English (not always the case in Italy). I had a room on the first floor - unless you carry a lot of luggage I would recommend the stairs. The lifts are incredible slow but the stairs are a bit difficult to find. Once you are at your floor it will be completely dark but there is no cause for concern. Once you take a step the corridor is automatically lit - they appear to have placed more sensors in the corridors now since I did not encounter the same problems that a few other guests noted in reviews. The corridors do perhaps appeal to some people from a design perspective - to me it seemed more as if they carpet on the walls. The rooms are fairly large. The room I stayed in had a large bed, a desk and two chairs. There is a minibar and a safe. Everything was pretty new but a few things could have been better. The bathroom was very fresh and nice, soap, shower gel, shampoo etc was of course provided but there was also a shoe shining set which I find convenient. The bath tub with shower was nice from a design perspective but the lack of a full covering glass (it covers about 2/3rds of the bath tub) made it almost impossible to not get water on the floor. The TV was pretty small and the picture quality was not the best. The selection of channels in English was very poor (1 or 2 depending on time of day). Another thing that could be improved is that the information on Internet access is poor. Internet access via cable is free, you do however have to ask for the network cable at the reception. There is €20 deposit which feels a bit strange (they have the credit card number already). There is wireless in the building but that is not included (separate charge of around €10 for 1 hour if I remember correctly). The brochure in the room also promised that a bathrobe would be in the room for use in the relax/fitness area. It was however easy to get from the reception. There is a nice fitness area at the -1 floor. There is also an art gallery there where breakfast is also served. The breakfast is not the best breakfast I had but to be in Italy it was rather good. There is a good selection of different bread, pastries and also yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee/tea etc so it is quite sufficient. The reception staff were very friendly and had a lot of good ideas for different restaurants in the area. Taking the very reasonable price in the account it sums up to a good hotel (between a 3 and a 4 but I am feeling generous).

Hey, Parma is a romantic city! There is typical Italian parking in front of and behind the hotel (= tiny places), but I always had plenty of room to maneuver a 5 series bimmer. The Venetian chandeliers are very beautiful making this a nice, small boutique hotel from which to base your business or tourist trip.

It is quiet impressive, I didn't exactly expect it to be mansion like but it was to some degree. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious. There was a grand staircase and chandeliers everywhere, including in the bedroom. My room had two showers, I guess for couples to shower together. It was an interesting concept although we never put it to use. The only complaint is that the water from the open shower doesn't drain properly, In the morning there is still a puddle of water where the shower curtain is. I think this is a problem with a lot of minimalist showers though so I won't penalize this place for it. Lots of toiletries, which is always a plus even if I don't end up using all of it. Service was great. Two attendants were sent to help us with our luggage upon arrival. The front desk was helpful in assisting us in making restaurant reservations and calling a taxi upon our departure. Breakfast was situated in a beautiful room, unfortunately we had to catch an early train and didn't get to fully enjoy the view. The location is about 5 minutes away from the train station by taxi, which is convenient. Parma is a really small city. Everything is walkable, at least the places tourists want to go anyways. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Parma!

It's quite easy to walk to the Funicular (cable car) and ride up to the upper city. The service at this hotel was top notch. Every encounter I had with all levels of the hotel staff were top notch. I'd recommend this hotel to any of my colleagues staying in Bergamo. On the first floor they have a dining area for a daily breakfast buffet which I liked very much as it is complimentary for hotel guests. The hotel breakfast made mornings prior to going into the office very easy. On the 8th floor, there is a very nice rooftop restaurant that has some very nice views of the city of Bergamo, and also the old city. The food at this restaurant was very good and I recommend dining there at least once for the views.

This trip I had no choice. I checked in and got an "upgrade". What that means is I got a bathrobe and a tea maker and a king-sized bed? But truthfully, I couldn't walk around the room as the bed was too big for the room and I'm kind of a big guy. I've stayed in other AC Hotels - Bologna twice and Firenze (Florence) - but this one is NOT a customer-oriented hotel. More of a business hotel. Frankly, their service is lousy. The next day they didn't clean my room. It was around 3 pm. I hadn't slept at all the night before and I needed to take a nap. The front desk called and said they had to clean the room as the maids were leaving. I told her I needed to sleep and she told me to come to the front desk to get my towels. Wow. In the end, I didn't sleep the three nights I stayed here. Mainly, because of how the doors close. They actually slam! And you can hear that in your rooms. Other reviewers have complained that the walls are thin. As I was leaving the hotel, I got to the elevator just before the floor manager. My hands were full, so I thought she would press the button for me. She did, but she got into the elevator, closed the doors and left me standing there! Unbelievable. This is the attitude of the hotel. It's a management thing. I spoke to the manager when I initially tried to stay there. He's a tall bald guy. They won't budge despite your Platinum status. When my girlfriend called to complain, the manager said they have many, many Platinum members, so his hands are tied. He did finally agree to upgrade me to a suite - after 20 minutes on the phone - but only on the last night, and by then, I was exhausted, miserable and I decided to leave the hotel early to go home to sleep! After 3 nights of bad / no sleep, a 6-hour drive through a rain & snowstorm awaited me - it was grueling. No grazie.
