So fast-forward to 2024 and I finally got to visit Lake Garda in person. I never forgot the pizza I saw in the YouTube video and made a point of tracking down and eating at Pizzeria Geier in Torbole. It was everything I hoped for! It was the best pizza I ate during the whole trip, arriving fresh within minutes of ordering, and the view of Lake Garda a few meters away was breathtaking. The staff were friendly and kind. I went back a second night and had the caprese. Totally worth the stop and dream-like to eat at a restaurant I saw in video long ago :)

Our meals of pizza, lasagna, and more were well made and served. Tremendous, timely and friendly service throughout the meal. The owner stopped by several times to make sure we were completely satisfied. As we finished our meal, they brought a free bottle of delicious limoncello. If that wasn't enough, they brought over a bottle of Grappa to sample! With this level of service you would expect the prices to be high; not so. For example the lasagna was 10 euros! We returned the next night and the food and service were not a fluke. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We hope to return someday.

Amazing views, good service and delicious food…read more Came in at 19:15 for dinner on a Tuesday. Place was quite empty but when we left 2 hours later, it was packed with a long line of people waiting. I loved everything I had, for starters I had the small fish hors d'oeuvres...it was made up if 4 components, octopus cooked in squid ink over polenta, bacalau pate (I would call it pate, it was shredded bacalau mixed in a white sauce), smoked salmon (some of the best I have ever had) and a scallop in tomato broth. All of this was delicious! For mains I had the paella, I would call this a saffron seafood rice rather than paella, it was divine, lots of seafood...clams, pipis, mussels, fish, octopus...all cooked perfectly with saffron in rice and peas. For dessert I had the tiramisu which was heady with coffee and not too sweet. Now hubby had a ok experience, he had the passionfruit tuna tartar to start with the grilled shellfish for mains and the creme brulee. He thought the passionfruit added nothing to the tartar, the grilled shellfish was a very small main for the price especially since it came with a few grilled langostines and prawns and nothing else. The creme brulee was topped with unmelted sugar which was not pleasant, no traditional melted sugar topping to crack. So all in all, a mixed experience at the same table. I am sticking with a 4 as it was a great experince for me and I am going to try to convince hubby to give the place another try.

When our food arrived, we accidentally broke one of the wine glasses and glass shattered into our pizza and salad. The food was taken away and the glass removed from the table. I guess they were more interested in profits than in showing some goodwill. We obviously reordered but left a little surprised.
