If you weren't looking for this place, you wouldn't even give its entrance a swcond thought. The museum is entrenched 3 meters underground, and the entrance is a single door with no attendants. In fact, there was no one working there when I visited. Ticketing is on the honor system; there was an automated ticketing machine as you started the exhibit.
Apparently built on the very site where the excavation work was done, the musuem is small by comparison to most. Instead of detailing the history of the place, the displays focused on everyday life of a viking living in Aarhus. That singular focus made this museum worthwhile for me. I would imagine also that this would be a great place to escape the heat in the summer. read more
