And, because it was a convenience store, there is a bank of coolers with six packs of local beer, Locopops and ready-to-go-meals- craziness! The store is organized by vignette and theme, making browsing fun. I found the prices to be really good, especially on the jewelry, which is displayed on tables and probably 25% of the inventory. The staff is super friendly and based on their Facebook page; they seem to have lots of fun events.

In the plethora of antique shops around the Five Points area, Luci Johnson's offers something a…read morelittle different. Sure, there are beautiful antiques: some well-chosen furniture (the mahogany writing table with its gorgeous scroll-work), artwork, china, hard to find and unusual sterling silver (the tureen was extraordinary as were the clothing brushes), porcelain, and lamps, all arranged beautifully in the small store. Things from different eras and different parts of the world all worked together in their displays. What set Luci's apart from the others for me, was the owner. She's gracious, elegant, genuinely friendly and her own best sales person. It's not a stuffy atmosphere, most likely thanks to her welcoming style. I had a difficult time getting out of the store without buying something, not because the prices were reasonable (they are reasonable), but because I have no place to put most of the things that caught my eye. So I have to admire from afar. Luci T Johnson's is a small shop, and the aisles are a one-person-at-a-time narrow, but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in personality.

The showroom has evenly priced items that are beautifully staged for the design challenged few - a mixture of purchased and vintage items eclectically displayed. Really nicely done and both employees were very friendly. It's not everyday you get serenaded, I must admit. They also had coffee and gingerbread cookies and water - a nice touch - and their store did not REEK of spray paint as some others did. I purchased a beautiful trunk for $100. It was beautiful and expensive but it was special and I plan to fill it with my memories items and cannot wait to use it for that. Down the cement path we walked to the warehouse which brought me back to my hometown and my grandmother and all the salvage sales I've ever frequented. It reminds me of that show Rehab Addict and how she goes and searches out those unique pieces to finish out her home rehab projects. Plenty of unique furniture in here but pricing is inconsistent. We grabbed a guy and asked I'm for some prices. Didn't feel like we got a great deal but the neat part was they would refinish and fix the furnishing for you for an extra price and that did seem reasonable. This place was great. We will be back. In the words of Willy Wonka: If you want to view paradise Simply look around and view it.

This store is pretty big inside; you would never know it by looking at it from outside. It is filled with treasures both big and small. Like any antique store (or like most), it is a bit crowded with items. Personally, I like that. You really are 'hunting' for treasures here. Yesterday I found this beautiful trinket on the floor of a booth...I would have never found it had I been in a rush. I highly recommend you take your time here. Google reviewers seem more critical of Hunt & Gather and its staff...but personally I had a very different experience. On Google, people wrote that staff was following them, being rude, and that this place was overpriced. Now...your mileage may vary...but I found the staff to be extremely kind. They would check in on me a couple times just to see if I needed help, but largely let me do my own hunting in peace. I think some items are certainly pricey and I can't quite understand why, but by and large I found the prices to be competitive. For example, you can get an entire Noritake china set (with 12 settings!) for $450. Anywhere else this could go easily for $700+. You can buy some dupes at HomeGoods for sure, but HomeGoods aint that cheap -- and I'd argue some of the pieces here are priced even more competitively than HomeGoods. I bought 3 chinoiserie vases/jars yesterday (at ~$30 a pop) and am soooo enamored by them. All in all, I'd recommend you swing by especially if you're furnishing, or refurnishing, your home. There are some really nice things here....and I think I may come by every now and then just to see what's in stock!

As soon as I walked into Cabin all of the angels started singing and I could have died and happily gone to heaven immediately. By far my most favorite store I have encountered in a very long time. There were some beautiful vintage clothes. But there was only one "dressing room" which was the bathroom up there. So not ideal. I recommend going up there instead of downstairs if you're short on time. There were signs advertising a year-round Christmas antique area, with hours on Sunday 1-5pm. I was there at 3pm and could not find it. There were signs pointing to a locked door. And nothing on the level was Christmas. So that was a bit disappointing. The workers are generally sitting at the checkout/stands around, so I didn't have much interaction. Overall, fun to check out but not a lot of great stuff for good value.

Most of this stuff is way overpriced. Maybe I just don't understand and I'm definitely not the target audience if I audibly say "I can get this for $5 elsewhere," but so much of the things sold here are not collectibles. Another man's trash is another man's treasure. There's a TON of stuff here. I mean, a ton! It's overwhelming and I definitely walked past a lot of it. After finding a few pieces that I personally collect and seeing the prices, I couldn't honestly stomach walking around the shop anymore. It was a huge let down and I no longer had interest in browsing. I bought some stickers to at least give them some pay for our time spent in their air conditioned shop. The staff were nice and asked if we needed any help. We weren't watched the entire time which was nice because I hate being watched when I shop. If you love antiquing and you're aware of how expensive this hobby is, then by all means, SuzAnnna's is great! I just couldn't stomach $60 for a piece of uranium glassware when I can get the same thing on eBay for less than $10. Side note, there are items that are comparable to what you can find online, but prices are all over the place here and if you're like me who seriously collects certain things, you'll see that many of the pieces sold here are overly priced.
