2018 eroeffnete das “Viet Quan” die Türen für Liebhaber asiatischer Küche. Nachdem Thu Nguyen T. fast ein Jahrzehnt in unterschiedlichsten asiatischen Küchen geschult wurde, entschied er sich 2018 sein eigenes Restaurant in familiärer Führung zu eroeffnen, denn eine Sache fehlte ihm letzendlich immer: Traditionelle asiatische Küche für den kleinen Geldbeutel! Denn für Thu ist Essen vielmehr als nur den Hunger zu stillen. Essen ist für ihn neben tollem Geschmack, ein wahres Erlebnis zu schaffen, um andere Menschen und, in diesem Falle auch, Kulturen kennenzulernen und die alltäglichen Sorgen zu vergessen für kleines Geld. “Ich will meinen Gästen hier wirklich authentische vietnamesisch, thailändische Küche bieten. Für einen kleinen Groschen, stattliche Portionen liefern.

We were a pretty big group of seven, and it did take the servers a while to get all our drinks and food out to us. That said, the food itself was very good for being a Pan-Asian restaurant smack-dab in the middle of Germany. The larger main courses were more in the varietal Teishoku style, and their sushi rolls were as good as any you'd eat in the San Francisco Bay Area (which is to say ... pretty good!). The one thing that put a bit of a damper on the dinner for me was that I'd ordered a half-liter of beer, and asked once again if it was coming out as it had been a while. Well, two different servers returned with a half-liter each, so I had to gulp down a liter of beer in front of my friend's family which probably didn't look so good. :-P Other than that, Vinami was very good. I would come here again, only next time I'll be sure to ask ONE person for a beer and ask only them if it takes a while to come out.
