The white middle aged woman that we purchased souvenirs from rang us up for $42 and change. She asked if I wanted a receipt and I replied no. Lesson learned for me. I should have taken the receipt because when I saw the charge on my credit card, she charged me $84.42. I hope she reads this and realizes her reputation is worth the $40+ she cheated me out of. Is this store struggling this much that she would cheat me out of this small amount of money. Be careful when buying something from here. When you go to Esperanza (and if you go to Vieques you will go to Esperanza) you must stop here. This is the best souvenir/gift shop on the island with quality stuff inside. It's located on the main drag along the waterfront and isn't very big inside. Parking is wherever you can find it. If it isn't busy in town you can get away with parking on the street/curb right in front as long as you don't stay in the shop too long. It has something to do with the laid back atmosphere of Esperanza. Vieques Gifts has the best T shirts and other clothing along with gifts for you and to take back to your friends at home. This response is exactly why your store needs a customer service upgrade. You never, ever, *ever* blame polite, potential patrons for a bad experience at your establishment. While it may be true that one of your employees has a hearing impairment, this does not in any way excuse the verbal response that was given in such a hostile tone to an innocent question (wanting to buy something!), nor the blatant inattentiveness to not one, but two customers in your store. You completely ignored that part in your reply. And while she was not actually interacting with a customer when the question was asked, even if this was the case, employees should know how to politely let customers know they will assist them when they're finished helping another customer. As the owner, you are ultimately responsible for the behavior of your employees as this is part of your brand. Also, a friend of yours sent me a "compliment" through Yelp which was basically a rude message attempting to invalidate this experience. What a horrible experience made worse by harassment from a stranger. This review 100% stands. read more

I have been on the lovely island of Vieques for over a month & have visited this store frequently, This store had my favorite sunscreen, local bug spray, sunglasses needed for my friend & I, matching t-shirts with my daughter , a t-shirt for my husband, local hot sauce, bracelets, presents to take home. This is a great gift shop! I had visited a shop on the northern side of the island, but heard this one had more souvenirs to choose from. It did not disappoint. This one had a great selection of t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, and even sandals! I bought a few of the salt scrubs in Pina Colada and Key Lime scents. So many cute things, from local artist crafts to sunglasses and keychains............this store is well stocked. The owner was there the day I visited and she was very friendly and helpful. AND PATIENT, as I kept adding things to my "stack" of purchases. If you're looking for gifts to take home from the island, this is your place. **Sidenote** When I was shopping, a woman came in to return an umbrella that had broken and not survived the beach wind. She seemed defensive as if already predicting the owner would not issue the return because the woman did not even have a receipt and no tags or price were on the umbrella. The owner graciously issued the return, IN CASH, and also apologized that the umbrella didn't withstand a day at the beach. This is impressive customer service! read more

It's the one and only local gift shops on this side of the island if you don't count street vendors. There are some fun sea turtles/shells plates and jelly fish wind chimes. And of course they sell shark teeth necklace and star fish bracelet. Clothes style is very Beach momm friendly and swimming suites have many sizes to chose from. Also many Hawaiian flower/tropical shirt. I really want to buy a fish bone wine holder, but it's $55 and might be hard to get it home without crashing it. They will ship everything you buy too which is convenient, but expensive. read more

Super nice proprietor. They had lots of cute gifts, shirts, hats, sunblock, and bug spray. Some stuff was a little pricey but that's what you expect on an island. This shop has everything you would want and more! It has plenty of beautiful shirts to bring home as gifts or wear during your vacation. They even have a special shirt for children that changes colors in the sunlight, it was a favorite among my younger cousins when I brought them back years ago. The store has a selection of local jewelry and paintings. There are a variety of bathing suits in the back and plenty of hats for your stay on the island. The most comfortable and supportive flip flops are in here too, coming from someone with back issues. She has been able to stay open through the hurricane and COVID. I'm not one to complain on a small business but this was not great service for a touristy place. The owner was rude even though we bought several things. Asked her to run my card as credit because Wells Fargo doesn't work out there and she refused. Probably the worst place we visited on vacation. Everywhere else was so beautiful and nice. I found this store to be overpriced for most things you can find online or at one of the truly locally owned gift shops on the island. If you go to Isabel, you will find more reasonably priced gifts and I have found friendlier service there as well. You can also go directly next door for great prices on T-shirt's and swim wear. read more
