If you're a parent bringing a child here, be warned there is a heavy amount of inappropriately themed items for sale, such as cards with penis jokes and signs with swear words, all at the eye level of a little one. Ice cream stores are geared towards children so it's disturbing that this one thinks these types of items are ok to have on display. I will not bring my children here again. High wheel is down the road and super kid friendly. read more

Stopped by for ice cream, and it didn't disappoint. Kiddo had Oreo and it was the classic cookies and cream flavor you should know and like :) I had complicated strawberry, not sure what was complicated about it because it was simply delicious pure creamy strawberry flavor. The texture was rich and creamy. MIL had a more nontraditional flavor, lavender honey which she also enjoyed. Only knock is there are no cone options, just cup. This place is amazing! A specialty food shop, ice cream parlor and liquor store all in one. Beautifully laid out, and spacious. The ice cream was incredible! And also lactose free. I got a dark chocolate, orange, ginger flavor and was not disappointed! The liquor store is also wonderful! A great selection of bottles that are not found everywhere. I'm so stinkin' obsessed with this place. Not only are the owners the nicest people on the planet, but the ice cream is fire. I've had so many flavors, and they're all amazing, but Angel Food and Birch Beer has to be two of my favorites. True to the name, creamy, and LACTOSE FREE! They have a great cheese selection, and the liquor store is so fun to explore. I'm a HUGE gin fan, and they have the best selection. They're the reason why I often get to indulge in limited release gins - and why I'm now a huge Hendricks fan. In addition to all of that, you'd be remiss if you didn't browse the store. Victual is a gem! Great cards, fun cocktail napkins, nice selection of cocktail accessories, and a wonderful selection of one of a kind gifts. But the real stand out is their lactose-free ice cream and the little liquor store. The ice cream flavors are interesting- baklava, chocolate orange ginger, honey lavender sunflower. I learned about this place from the guest journal at the cabin we rented in Crosby and immediately looked it up. I wanted to be sure to try a unique flavor and sure enough - baklava was the big winner. Rich, creamy ice cream that is not over the top sweet, with bite size chunks of baklava peppered throughout. Absolutely loved it and would eat it again. My daughter got her new favorite hat here, too. Highly recommend! read more

Great place to stop and check out when in Crosby. I came for the ice cream. It was really hard to decide which flavor to pick-finally trying a few and deciding on White Chocolate Peppermint (it did not disappoint & was refreshing). My partner (who stated "I don't want any ice cream" before we went into the store) had to have a hand scooped dish of Mint Oreo. I liked the t-shirts that were for sale, but we just shopped and didn't buy anything more than ice cream. They have a nice outside area on the side of their building with patio tables and nice landscaping to enjoy your ice cream and take a break. read more

I would give this store zero stars, but I had to select a star to post my review. My family and I drove from out of town to check out this store after reading all the great reviews. We were extremely disappointed as the staff never once greeted or acknowledge that we were in the store. We would have liked to sample some of the cheeses and other food items that they offer, but the staff were too busy looking at their phones. Victual has an amazing selection of high end gifts, cheeses, meats, wines and liquors; I'm just not sure who in Crosby can afford the selection. We do love the ice cream, and get some for a treat every time we are in town, but that also is fairly costly at $5 and change for a single scoop. But they let you taste the flavors first, which is my favorite thing in the world, and the flavors are wildly creative, which always gets high marks from me. The Pink Squirrel is a perennial favorite, and this last time I got to taste "Green Fairy" (made with three kinds of black licorice!) and "Bonfire", which I don't think I could eat a whole scoop of, but it was wildly entertaining to try. It did taste like a bonfire, supposedly there was tequila in there, but I did not taste any of that. The smoke flavor kind of took over. I ended up getting a scoop of Baklava, which was truly amazing. It had chewy chunks of real baklava throughout a honey ice cream base. I was barely able to save a couple bites for my husband. We will continue to go, but I would really like to see the prices lowered so they are more competitive with, say, Love's Creamery in Duluth. However, they have a monopoly on premium ice cream in this town, so they probably aren't worried about being competitive. read more

What a fun addition to Crosby! If you're looking for higher end cheeses, meats and accompaniments look no further. They also have an excellent selection of gifts and chocolates available. Their ice cream is great in that it is lactose free. My only complaint is that my son with a severe nut allergy was unable to have anything there as the ice cream is all prepared on the same equipment and there did not seem to be any candy or other treats that he could have so unfortunately we all walked out without treats together :( My husband and I will absolutely be back, just without kids! read more

This place is a real gem. Cute little establishment with lactose-free ice cream made in-house- delish! The cheese is very good and the staff is very knowledgeable to help when you need suggestions. My hubby and I have been taking weekly date nights here to try different cheeses with different pairings. The labels on the cheeses offer suggested foods (and wines if you drink) to pair with the cheese, which has opened up a whole new world for us.
