Oh my giddy arm, I cannot believe that a place in London exists where they would let me order food, eat it and then let me leave without paying (due to not having enough cash on me), trusting me to come back later after I had run my errands and gotten to a cash point!!!! Even when I offered up the change that I did have, they said I could just hang on to it and then pay the bill in full later if I wanted to! Set right on the corner of West End Lane and Mill Lane, David's is a family run business in the perfect location, with lots of seating, both inside and outdoors, with an awning to cover it, and plants surrounding the front area, separating you from the street a little. This would be the perfect place to come for breakfast/brunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The menu is extensive, with lots of meze options, as well as sandwiches, bagels, salads, pies cakes and cupcakes (the woman next to me ordered a small meze selection with pitta - I can't imagine how big the large option would have been!). I opted for a salt beef bagel (which came with a pickle and coleslaw), which if I am completely honest, didn't really do it for me, BUT I should have known this from the start, as this place just didn't look Jewish enough to satisfy my salt beef bagel standards... My cappuccino was good - nice and frothy. I was also pleased that they have the option of skinny or regular. It's nice that they have a big pile of newspapers and magazines to browse too - handy if you are on your own and don't have any reading material with you. In all honesty, I probably would award this place 3 stars for my bagel (and the fact that at £4.50 I think it was too expensive), but for overall service, atmosphere and enjoyability of experience it gets full marks. David's is Deli(ghtful) and I will be back!

It is located in Edgeware, which I frequent a few times a year since I have a friend who lives there. However it was not until I googled: "best salt beef in London" that I knew that there is a hidden gem to be found here. To me, salt beef is the UK variant of pastrami minus the peppercorns on the outside. I love both but I've had bad versions of both. So when I learned that this is the best salt beef in London, I got excited. I came and found a little shop with a few tables to dine in and options to take away. The menu was your typical jewish fare: salt beef, salads, gefilte fish, dumplings and so on. I went for the salt beef on rye with mustard: simple but I took one bite and I was sold. I immediately regretted not knowing about this place earlier - this is sandwich heaven. Perfect beef, great bread and a little bit of mustard: delicious! You know you have yourself a winner when you find yourself craving more, even days after. Yes B&K Salt Beef Bar is far off everything and scores about minus ten on the ambiance scale. There must be much trendier and hipper places in Central London but do they also serve a AWESOME salted beef sandwich? I am not sure so until I know I'll stick with B&K. Highly recommended.

Seriously, the salt beef is to die for and is very reasonably priced. It's only got a small seating area for about 20 people but you can also get take away. The staff are very friendly and it has a great atmosphere. Parking can be a little difficult as there are only a few bays on Whitchurch Lane and it's near to the traffic lights at a major junction in Edgware so you may have to park a distance away but the food it worth it! I would point out that the food is Kosher style - the meat isn't actually kosher but, if that doesn't bother you - you'll enjoy a great meal.

I don't usually leave reviews (this will be my first on Yelp site) but felt compelled to write one…read moreafter the experience I had at Amici yesterday. I live locally and my husband and I have stopped by a few times to grab a quick take away sandwich. I stopped by yesterday to eat-in because I had a few minutes to spare and ordered the 'Goats cheese & Sun dried tomato' sandwich. As I stood at the counter I saw the lady fumbling to look for the cheese but didn't think much of it as I made my way to sit at a table. A few minutes later when I received my sandwich I couldn't see any white colored goats cheese in it. I took a bite and confirmed it was NOT goats cheese as it turned out to be yellow cheese. I went to the counter TWICE and politely asked which cheese they used because I know what Goats cheese tastes like and the fact that Goats cheese is always white. The staff member insisted what they gave me was Goats cheese and eventually showed me the cheese they used, which was YELLOW and labelled 'Giglio Cheese'. She claimed this was Goats cheese from Sardinia. Despite my explanation (and I wasn't complaining, I was pointing out that what they gave me was not what I ordered) all 3 of the staff members teamed up and insisted there are different types of Goats cheese and this is the type of Goats cheese made from Sardinia. I google'd Giglio Cheese when I got home and it is SHEEP'S CHEESE. Considering there are people who may have specific allergies, I would not recommend this cafe to anyone as they seem to think they can replace ingredients without your consent and insist they are what they are NOT.

The products they sell are really good quality and the staff are always really friendly. The only problem I have is that they often go a long time without restocking items. I've gone in a few times for coffee onlyto find that there aren't enough tables. It's unfortunate that they don't have a huge amount of space but it's a great compliment to them that they're always so busy! The staff are always really helpful and eager to get you whatever you want.
