This place takes you back to the days of men going to the barber shop to get a hair cut and a shave…read morewith the hot towel experience. It's tucked in off the main road a bit but you will see the old style barber light out front. I had heard of this place second hand from another mama with a son who falls on the spectrum along with Leighton who has away of connecting to people that set them at ease. My son is 13 years old but haircuts are still an issue. If you don't have a child or aren't on the spectrum it is hard to explain. This is very difficult for them on the best day. My son started off as he always does shoulders drawn not communicating & apprehensive as a body can get in that moment. He knows he is a young man and desperately wants to control what he is feeling but he simple just increases his anxiety. Here is where Leighton came in and worked his magic. He connect with my son and got him talking on a subject he was very interested in. I watched my son transform in front of me during that cut to a tense withdrawn child to a confident young man who helped his Dad settle the bill with a tip he thought was fair! I was almost in tears! I've never in my son's days on this earth seen him sit still that long little on enjoy a hair cut to the point he automatically said he wants to come back. Now Leighton may not have a degree in child psychology or not sure if he has felt with this in his own family but if you or any of you family have those feelings when it comes to cuts, please call this place! I really think Leighton just gets people & cares about those that trust to sit in his barber chair. We will be back!

I am sitting in chair and first had my feet placed in scalding hot water. Then cold water was in my legs to counter act the hot. Now I am sitting with one foot in cold water and the other on the stand. The person doing my nails is about as personable as a wet dish rag. She didn't even introduce herself to me and haven't seen her smile the whole time. Still waiting to see how it goes. Sigh

My son (16) has gone to this location several times. The first time he went in with an inspiration…read morephoto and the lady did an excellent job. He walked out feeling confident and looked very nice. The next three times the different stylists saw the previous pictures and notes and did an excellent job. Yesterday I dropped him off and Rebekah butchered his hair. She claimed she couldn't find the notes, and did her own style even after seeing the inspirational photo and previous hair cut picture. When I came in to pay I asked if that's what he wanted because it looked different. She overheard me and was furious. She wanted to know what was wrong with it. I showed her the previous styles and said it looked nothing like that. She raised her voice at me. She said I should have been in there to watch my sixteen year old. She said nobody could have figured out what he wanted from the photos. She kept on and on attacking him and me. She said she'd fix it. It took everything in me to remain calm. She "fixed it" and it looked even worse. He left there humiliated and feeling degraded. He told me in the car that he had spoken up the times and she did what she wanted anyway. It was a terrible experience. Now I have to go somewhere else and have it fixed.

Sadly, the Last hair cut I got here was so bad that I had to repair it myself when I got home. The prices are too high for a men's haircut coupled with the below average quality' cut. Needs some improvement but I haven't counted them out just yet.
