If I could give 0 stars I would. This dentist is so unbelievably unprofessional in terms of speaking with clients. I have never had to walk out of a dentists office before. I have seen over 20 dentists in my life, and not one has ever made me feel the way Vick did. I feel bad for his staff. He also left me with 3 cavities unfilled because of his inability to communicate clearly with me (the patient) and basically forced me out of his office. And I can't wait for him to reply saying that I "misunderstood" him. You're not misunderstood you're just a dick. UPDATE: they also never sent my X-rays to a new dentist when I had 3 cavities to be filled and I asked them several days in advance. It is always such a pleasant treat to come here! Dr Kargodorian, Veronica, Johanna, and Devon are always so sweet and crack me up. Their place is very clean and modern, and the window view is downright amazing! I've been their patient since 2019, and get my teeth checked/cleaned 2x/year. I have naturally straight teeth and no major issues (aside from possibly getting my wisdom teeth pulled out!), and they never try to push unnecessary procedures. Visited this dentist over 5 years ago. He told me I urgently needed a gum graft to prevent all my teeth from falling out and then referred me to a friend of his who was supposed to perform this very risky surgery. Luckily I had a different dentist fix the problem with a couple of simple fillings and no complicated surgery. Another time he decided he needed to take out my wisdom teeth, except he wasn't able to remove the whole tooth and ended up leaving dead tooth fragments in my jaw to heal over and potentially kill me one day. So, my tooth was killing me. It was a ridiculous throbbing pain that was causing headaches and swelling my face. I called the office and scheduled an emergency appointment. Dr. Vick was able to see me the same day. I entered and was greeted by the receptionist right away. They showed me to my room and was impressed with the amazing view of the city. The doctor walked in and asked me what was going on. I explained to him my symptoms and he took a look. My worst nightmare was confirmed and he told me I needed a root canal. He numbed the h*** out of that area and did his thing. After 45 minutes i immediately felt relieved and the constant headache had gone away. I understand if you are not open during Covid19 pandemic but the least you can do is check your messages and get back to patients. Or AT LEAST update your voicemail greeting to say you are not open. I was told I had a cavity and needed $10k worth of gum work. Neither of these things were true.

CRIMINAL! Dr. K's office is great and he comes across very cool and likable but don't be fooled- he's a CHARLATAN! A month ago I accidentally knocked one of my teeth pretty hard to where it hurt every time I touched it. I called Dr. K who took an x-Ray and told me I needed a $1,200 root canal immediately to be followed by a full tooth transplant which would cost between four and five thousand- as my tooth was completely dead/destroyed/infected. I had to go to work so I opted to make an appointment for the next day... when I said I couldn't do it right away he became hostile and somewhat threatening, telling me my tooth would fall out if I waited a day. That attitude making the whole thing feel suspicious to me- I decided decided to cancel work and get a second opinion. I called a friend who recommended her dentist at A One Dental in Encino. I went up there and the dentist checked my x-Ray and said she saw no indication that my tooth was cracked or infected at all.. and that If either of those things were actually going on it would be hurting independently, as opposed to only when I touched it and it would be loose- which it was not. Just to further the point that I absolutely did NOT need a root canal, she tested my response to temperature- something Dr. K did not do. She then explained that what I had done to my tooth had traumatized the ligaments and bruised it badly. Because it's impossible not to touch your teeth when you eat and talk it would take longer than the average bruise to heal on it's own, but as long as I was careful not to irritate it too much and injure it further it would eventually be okay. In the meantime, she suggested ibuprofen and salt-water rinse for the inflammation and told me to call her if it's not better in two weeks. I decided to save my $6,000 and take her advice- and guess what... my tooth is JUST FINE. read more

The best experience I've ever had at a dental office. I had a crown fail on me over the weekend which left me in excruciating pain. Dr. Kargodorian's office got me in on Monday afternoon and, although it was my first visit, they were able to perform a procedure to fix my problem on the spot. Dr. Kargodorian and his team were courteous, professional, and answered every question I had throughout the entire experience. The office environment is beautiful--clean and bright. I have to be honest here, this man behaved in a threatening and inappropriate manner, and overall he is not a doctor I will ever return to. There have been many other times I have gone to him where he was less than polite, but this last encounter was far worse than anything I have experienced. I came in for a cleaning, and he had me open my mouth, looked at it for a moment and said to me, "What are we going to do about your teeth?" He immediately launched into trying to convince me I needed a $16K pinhole surgery to restore my gums (one which he's been doing for years but never insisted upon or even mentioned until this visit). When I asked why he hadn't brough it up before he said, "That was then, this is now. I didn't bring up it before and now I am so....let's move on". When I inquired further about the surgery, he told me I "need to learn how to speak to doctors with respect" because I was questioning why he hadn't recommended this before and even threatened me saying, "You don't know who you're dealing with, and you don't want to find out the hard way". This all happened in front of his hygenist and receptionist while I was laying in his chair, in an incredibly vulnerable position. I felt so uncomfortable with his pushy salesman attitude, and it was clear he didn't have my best interest in mind (he left the task of telling me that it was $16K and NOT covered by insurance to his assistant, who looked noticeably apologetic at his behavior. He had also just audibly yelled at her for giving me the wrong info paperwork). To top it off he also said, "based on your character, I don't think you can handle doing both surgeries at once". I asked what he meant and he refused to clarify. That was the last straw for me. When it was clear that I wasn't going to say yes to an invasive surgery, he tried to convince me I needed a more "thorough" cleaning that would cost $400 plus antibiotics they wanted to inject into my gums. I declined and he didn't offer to even clean my teeth after that, just let me leave his office to "think about" the surgery. If you trust this doctor, consider going to a second dentist, as I have, for a second opinion. He's fraudulent in my opinion, and upon reading more negative reviews on his page, I know I am not alone in this experience. Good luck everyone! read more

Dr Vick is absolutely amazing. I have anxiety issues and one my triggers is dental work. I avoided a root canal for 5 months because other dentists just didn't understand my fear and were pretty rough with me. My husband convinced me to try again and I am blessed to have ended up in Dr. Kargodorian's office. Not only did he take his time and explain everything before and as it happened, he went out of his way to help me feel comfortable. You can't even tell which tooth has the porcelain crown because it just looks like any other tooth. While I still have some anxiety, it is much reduced and my last visit I didn't take any anxiety medication. I still don't like going to the dentist but I no longer fear it and I will never go anywhere else. read more

BEWARE. This guy is a scam artist. He did procedures that were NOT covered by our insurance, after being very clear that only covered procedures were to be done. He printed out a treatment plan for my husband that we agreed upon, and then decided to do the old bait and switch with porcelain instead, without telling my husband, and they throw the bill at us. He said he doesn't do "resin composite fillings", even though his print out said that's what he intended to do. Then his receptionist charged us for 4 teeth, even though they only worked on 3. Every time I turned around, they were throwing in $250 here $250 there and just saying it was done. Needlesstosay, a letter from our lawyer is in the mail...as they overcharged us $430! The guy's whole house must be Porcelain b/c he's obsessed with it... I would not go here if you have other choices. Also you have to pay $6 for parking...and note that the dentist was between 45 min-1 1/2 hrs late seeing my husband on all 3 visits... read more

I'm writing this review and giving 5+ stars because Dr. Vick and his team are amazing and extremely professional! I've always had dental anxiety and I was getting anxious about getting my wisdom tooth removed, so I contacted Dr. Vick's office and they were able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment and schedule my wisdom tooth removal. The whole procedure lasted less than 30 minutes and i didn't feel any pain AT ALL and when it was over I was pretty shocked, to be honest. I barely had to take any pain medicine afterwards and had no swelling. Also they have the best view at their clinic and a very chill music playing while you wait, which makes the experience even more relaxing. That was by far the best dental experience I EVER had and I would 100% recommend Dr. Vick to everyone who is looking for a great great professional! I'm generally pretty conservative when I rate a business, I come from a customer service background and understand that things happen. I am as patient (pun intended) as can be. Now...lets begin. I am a first time patient, I chose Dr. Kargodorian as my primare care dentist due to 1) how close he is to my office and 2) how close he is to my home That said: The technician who took my xrays, hit me in the face with the machine. Somehow the tube head came loose--the first time the tube head fell on my lap and she replaced it...the second time it became loose and it hit my eye. I let this go, again because THINGS HAPPEN. Then Dr. Kargodorian came into the room and he was as thorough as can be. Clear, concise and generally pleasant to speak to. We decided to fix my tooth that was broken by filling it with white filling. Once it came time to pay--- the same technician who hit me in the face-- was the one to take my payment. $200, which I planned on paying with my Health Card (Visa) somehow she couldn't get the machine to work so I paid with my personal credit card and planned on just submitting a claim to Wageworks so they could reimburse me. I asked for a receipt (something a patient shouldn't have to ask for, this should be immediate) The technician looked at me like I was crazy and confessed that she did not know how to "do that" In my opinion, all of the dental staff should be trained on how to "do that" to avoid any confusion, especially if they are working after hours and the office manager isn't there. I was then told to call at 9 am and that the office manager would help me. (at this point I still think..."THINGS HAPPEN"so I move on) I call at 9 am on 4/3/13 (today) and no answer...then again at 9:30 am ( I leave voicemails asking for a call back) Finally I call again at 10:15 am where I finally get an answer. Johanna-states that she just got into the office--I told her the events of the previous eveing she was surprised by my concerns and told me she would email me the receipt by taking a picture of it with her phone because the scanner is broken.... problem solved right? No, over the phone she felt the need to tell me that "it isn't a big deal and that she would get it done" she then added that " Dr. Kargodorian has many long time patients he rarely gets new ones" this was the very last straw for me. A patient is a customer...a customer should not have to jump through hoops to get a simple item like a receipt. A patient(customer)should not be told by staff that something is "not a big deal" there are many many MANY dentists in LA and the last time I checked....new patients are just as good as long standing patients. We "new patients" are looking for a dentist we can trust and keep going back to. Unfortunately despite Dr. Kargodorian being one of the best denstists I've had the pleasure of meeting, his staff and the disorganization and lack of training they posses is the only reason I will not be going back. So if you are a "new patient" I advise you go elsewhere. read more

I cannot agree more with others that Dr Kargodorian is the best dentist in town. He is very thorough and skillful. It is amazing how I truly feel time fly by so quickly when I am under the care of Dr Kargodorian. Usually it felts like years when I visited other dentist office where the dentists would makes me wait when he/she bouce between patients, or simply requires me to kept my mouth open until my mouth are sore and numb while drowning in my own saliva. Through experience and skill, Dr Kargodorian does everything so well and efficiently, and are able to reduce the discomfort during a dental operation to the very minimum. I am so happy to have found my dentist at last, Dr. "Vick" Kargodorian. I have an inherited oral degenerative condition, meaning my teeth are super prone to cavities and worse, breaking, falling out. This has caused me grief for years, but I have been unable to find a dentist who could work with me to sort out a short/long term process. While veneers are the goal, it's not something I can do now. And Dr. Kargordian is the first dentist who thoroughly examined my teeth, asked and listened to my history, and discussed OPTIONS. I cried with relief. And now I cry happy tears because I have a partial denture for now that paves the way for the veneers I will eventually get. After years of feeling embarrassed, humiliated, covering my mouth, smiling with my mouth closed, I have my smile back at last! While this would be upsetting for anyone, I also work in a highly-visible career, and since January, have been able to work hard, smile big, no more hiding, maneuvering. When I was recently had to change insurance, my number one priority for dental was only a carrier where Dr. Kargordorian was in network. I will never see anyone else, and recommend him to any/all for all needs, basic maintenance to the more complicated problems. You can trust him completely, he is also funny! Best doctor EVER!! Took me long time to write this review but here we go. My whole life I was terrified of dentists cz seriously I changed so many doctors and it was never a pleasant experience. Till I found doctor Vick! 3 years ago i needed emergency extraction of my wisdom tooth and found his office near by and they were able to take me the same day. Needless to say I was in much pain and I was crying bloody tears from the fear of having anything done. And omg it all went so smooth! They took time to calm me down, gave me magic nose and the whole procedure took like 10 minutes with no pain at all. As well as I haven't had any pain or swelling after at all and it all healed so fast! Some time later I've had another extraction with him as well as a crown and some other small problems fixed and I couldn't be more happy with the whole experience! Each visit I felt like home, the place is super nice and clean with a beautiful view on Hollywood hills. Stuff is absolutely amazing as well! I have been going to Dr. Vick for 4 years. It is funny if you read through these comments people are either all for Dr. Vick or against his practice. Most of the complaints are about tardiness. HOwver, this is not what makes a good dentist. When it comes to his expertise I haven't met a better Dr. He truly changed the way my teeth look. After meeting Dr. Vick I would not go to anyone else. I have been coming to his offices for over 10 years now for work ranging from typical teeth cleaning to cavity management to root canals and have had zero bad experiences. The office staff is very accommodating, friendly, and are very knowledgeable about exactly what they're doing. Even when Dr. Vick is not explicitly working on me, his staff are just as competent and conduct the best teeth cleaning procedures. With all of this, the prices are affordable. I've been going to Dr. Vick for about a year now. It's been mostly basic stuff: cleaning and the occasional cavity. The work was top notch and I have no complaints. Recently, I had a wisdom tooth extracted. This was a difficult procedure due to how the tooth had grown in, but Dr. Vick managed to remove it cleanly and much quicker than I expected. Any trip to the dentist can easily turn into an unpleasant experience given the right circumstances, but I would have to say the Dr. Vick and staff do everything within reason to minimize this chance. Overall, I would say that he is a very competent, friendly dentist. His staff is easy going and pleasant.
