I was diagnosed with Bell's palsy on January 22 after my symptoms started on January 21, and…read morehonestly it was one of the hardest experiences I have gone through mentally, emotionally, and physically. I work in the ER, and although I was sent home with steroids and antivirals, I still felt lost because many of my questions were unanswered and no one could give me a clear reason why it happened. I was told it could have been triggered by a virus, stress, or lack of sleep. Before starting acupuncture, the entire right side of my face was completely paralyzed. I could not smile at all, I could not close my eye, and I had to tape my eye shut every night to protect it. Watching your face change like that is incredibly hard and scary, and it affects you emotionally in ways people don't always understand. After finishing my steroids, I decided to start acupuncture with Dr. Lanie Quan, and I truly believe I came into the right hands. I am currently on session six and the difference has been incredible. My face now looks close to normal again, my movement has improved so much, and I finally feel hopeful in my recovery. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Lanie Quan and her team for supporting me through this journey and helping me through my Bell's palsy recovery. Every session feels caring, calming, and intentional, and I genuinely feel supported here. Bell's palsy recovery is not just physical, it is emotional too, and having a provider who understands that makes a huge difference. I am still continuing my sessions, but I wanted to share my experience because I know how overwhelming this condition can feel in the beginning. If you are going through Bell's palsy or have questions about my experience, feel free to message me on Instagram at esti.imee

I came to this clinic seeking fertility support and left feeling unnecessarily scared about my…read morebody. They used an "AcuGraph" machine to scan acupuncture points on my hands and feet and then told me that my kidneys, liver, and uterus were "blocked" and that my uterus was "cold." I was also told that being vegan was the reason my chart looked bad. These conclusions were presented as if they were medical findings, even though this device does not measure organs, hormones, ovaries, or fertility. After this, I was immediately offered a very expensive long-term package (around $3,000) that included many sessions and hydrogen gas. The tone of the consultation felt more like a sales pitch built on fear than supportive healthcare. I later learned that the AcuGraph measures skin electrical resistance, not organ function or fertility. While acupuncture itself can be helpful for stress and circulation, being told that your uterus is damaged or blocked based on this test is not medically accurate and can be very distressing -- especially for women worried about their fertility. I wish they had focused on supportive care instead of making me feel like something was seriously wrong with my body in order to sell a large package. I'm sharing this so other women can go in informed and not be made to feel broken or afraid.
