This station was a short 10 minute walk from my hotel and easy to get to. Getting out of the station doesn't seem so easy as cars backed up after dropping off/picking up passengers and one lane and the long light. And many cars turning left that sometimes not paying attention the pedestrians crossing the street. Walking you also have a find a break from the cars to cross to the sidewalk where the doors of the station are. Inside the station to the right, there is a ticket counter with a few staff working. To the left are chairs and vending machines. The washrooms are in the middle of that station. There's a lot more seating towards the back near the track. There are announcements to inform passengers who can board. Going to board, the staff lets you know where your car is located and directs you in the location. Very quick to get on the train and the line up moved quickly. read more

Pleasant experience every time I ride with via. The train station is well kept and it's never a problem getting tickets. The ride is comfortable to where ever you're going. If you can do it, upgrade to business class. You get a lot more perks with them. read more

Via Rail is my preferred method of travel in Ontario and Quebec. The London Station is very clean and neat. The staff are very helpful and courteous, when they are around. Train rides are smooth and relaxing. The food tastes great. Reasons why this place loses stars: Reduction of departure and arrival times/ service cuts. Before you could go to a concert in Toronto and still come back to London late at night without the need to book an overnight hotel. The company cut off service to Sarnia. There are only like 2 trains that go back and forth there and the people from Sarnia have to take Robert Q to come here to continue to other destinations. Staff cuts. Before there were usually 3 people at the ticket counter helping people really quickly so hardly any line up. Now I usually see one person. The platform is too low / possible accessibility issues. I ride the train a lot. There is a significant gap to getting onto and off the train. I actually broke my ankle getting off once in 2012. Considering the current station is a rebuild of the old one, this should've been considered during the refurbishment. read more

Basic train station in Downtown London that gets the job done. Nothing fancy about it. Trains for the most part are on time, and the station is small yet clean. Staff is helpful and do what they are expected to do. They also do a good job of spacing people apart in the station (look for stickers that say not to sit at a certain seat to promote physical distancing), a big plus during pandemic times. I am not sure if they still do this as I was last here in August 2021. I would give this 5 stars if VIA Rail tickets were a bit cheaper - I do find that their prices are a bit on the pricey side considering the distance between London and Windsor, Toronto Union Station, or Sarnia. Other than that, I'd recommend this as an alternative method to driving, especially if you detest Toronto's infamous gridlocked traffic. read more

What I like about via is they are 'generally' on time and it is the absolute best way to get to Toronto stress free. Just sit back and relax or pull out your laptop and get some work done . I have done this commute a few times a month for 10 years and I still don't hate it. The prices are getting a bit steep however. I'll never take via rail again. Train was stopped due to accident and it took 7 hours to get to Toronto from London. We stopped nearly 5 hours. We were promised a full 100% refund. The refund I find out is 26$ . That's not even a half refund. When I inquired the man at the desk yells at me and said he dosent want to repeat himself. I have used via for two years and it's always late or an issue. I will never ride with via again they have horrible staff who treat you like crap. read more

It's been eons since I've travelled by VIA so the new-ish bonus of assigned seating is awesome! No need to line up early or worry if your group can't sit together. The only issue with this was on my return trip when I had a seat that faced backwards. That was nearly vomit inducing and I wish that could be preferenced when you booked. Or y'know, don't have those seats except for the 4-seaters. I booked online early so I got a great discount (plus employee discount!) so I can't complain about the price. The seats are comfy enough for a short journey, but like any public transportation you have to deal with those around you and hope for the best. I like the free wifi and signal strength was good for whole journey. Trains were on time. My short interactions with staff was fine. I did find the stairs a little precarious in terms of size and the space between platforms but I have a weird depth perception issue. I'm also not a tiny person. That may explain why I felt like a bull in a china shop getting down the aisle and getting comfy in my window seat. I also think it was silly to force me to put my bag in the overhead when there was plenty of room in the baggage area on the return journey. read more

It is an incredibly small train station. One platform realistically. --- Staff --- They tend to be alright, nothing that has ever made it stand out to me. --- Overall --- VIA is worth taking if you frequent Toronto and other places. It is almost always on time, not that expensive, but if I am being frank, sometimes the Greyhound buses are nicer than the train cars. read more

The station is clean and the staff were polite and helpful. They have free thirty minute parking. The parking lot and exit is poorly designed. You cannot exit the parking lot due to the cars and taxis in the outside two lanes. There was construction going on and our brand new car got a flat going home. Be careful and do not park near the station. read more

I purchased a round trip ticket from London to Toronto 2 weeks in advance of my trip on June 28th for $60.00 Not a bad price. I found out today that I'm not going to be able to use go on my trip and so I called Via Rail about canceling and having my money refunded. A representative of Via Rail told me that my ticket is non-refundable but I can exchange it for another date as long as I exchange it before June 28th less a $40.00 service charge. The only problem is I don't when I plan to travel to Toronto again. Also, since I only paid $60.00 to begin with and Via wants to charge me $40.00 service charge to change my ticket. This is ridiculous. I can understand since I purchased a discounted ticket that it's not refundable but to charge me almost the same price as what I paid originally to change it is crazy. That's the problem with Via Rail being run by the government. All they care about is money and they'll step on anyone to get it, Whatever happened to good old customer service. Remember the old saying "the customer is always right." Clearly, Via Rail has, in its lust for greed, forgotten that its customers are the reason they're in business. This isn't the first time I've had to deal with the so-called customer service at Via Rail. Since I don't drive my only option is public transit and the only other alternative to get to Toronto from London is Greyhound which is much worse. So I say to Via Rail, not that they care of course, "you have just lost a customer." read more
