First I did an Ebike tour with the You're guide and she she took me here while giving me the history of this place. She said this canal was used to bring the ships with the Marble stones to build the Duomo di Milan. Back in the days, the way of transportation was the canals. I came back another day to explore the area. I took the train then walked like 10 mins. to find it. I sat in a restaurant by the water and while sitting there, I was able to kimd of get the whole essence of the area. It feels as a very Artistic and inspiring area. The water, the great food, the sunset, the birds, made mw want to paint on the spot. This was my second trip to Italy and it was a Solo trip. I never felt alone, Italians in Italy and everyone just make you feel like if you walk into their living room and are part of their family lol frfr. I saw so many things and so many places, making a plan of where I will take my friends and family when they accompany me. This is a must do in Milan. There's a wide vary of restaurants in this area. Excellent for people watching. There were a lot of tourists but it was not over crowded, nor did it felt like a tourist trap. It's a must have local experience. I also did the boat ride tour which was could but not necessary as the ride is kind of short. I was seating in front of the water Ina restaurant for like 3 hours! The waiter in Italy let you enjoy your drinks and meal. They kind of just let you be. In Italy they do not bring you the bill to show you your time has ended as is custom in America. The Italians let you enjoy the moment, la dolce vita, the essence of the place, the laid back vibe, they don't believe in rushing anything. I love the interior clock of the Italian culture. Maybe this is why everyone in Italy feels more calm minded and pleasant? When I was ready to go, like 3 hours later, I had to ask for the bill so I could check out. This was a lovely experience. Come to Naviglio with time to enjoy the present moment with fresh air, great views, sunsets, and excellent food and wine. Where one can just enjoy the moment as it is, and just be, feeling naked in soul and one with the world.

There are literally tons of bars and restaurants advertising their aperitivo hour and trying to scoop you up into their places. It's the largest duomo in Italy (St Peter's is in the Vatican) and we both thought it's the most impressive on the outside. The history of the duomo is fascinating as you will learn about its construction on the tour. BTW, there are basically 3 areas to tour 1) duomo outside and interior 2) exterior roof tour, and an artifacts tour underneath the main floor. Construction began in 1386 and the cathedral wasn't officially completed until the 20th century. The architectural influences in that time are incorporated - medieval, Renaissance and later. Unlike most cathedrals, you can walk extensively across the roof during the roof tour between the flying buttresses, and pinnacles. The roof has 135 spires and thousands of statues, making the exterior astounding! At the top of the central spire stands the famous golden statue of the Virgin Mary, the symbol of Milan. The interior is very unique as well. One of the most unusual features - an astronomical clock built in 1786!At solar noon, sunlight passing through a tiny opening creates a spot of light on the line, allowing the cathedral's astronomers to determine true solar noon.
