As you walk into Severn there are two things I noticed, the intense heat and the aromatic smells. Initially the heat was a nice change from the icy weather outside, although did get quite uncomfortable whilst eating a hot curry! There was a fair wait from sitting down to them taking our order, but once we'd ordered it was fairly quick service. We had popadoms with all the trimmings which were good. I was a little disappointed with my main I ordered the chicken Jaipuri special, it wasn't very tasty and hotter than expected, the chicken was a little dry as well. We also had a mushroom pilau rice and chilli coriander Naan both of which I enjoyed. The service could have been better it was a bit hit and miss, one of the waiters was especially grumpy and the fact he teared strips off another waiter whilst clearing our table really put us on edge. But on the whole they were attentive and ensured we had what we wanted. Nice touches were the 'half time' oranges they bought out at the end of the meal and a complimentary liquor. It was reasonably priced as well, for the money you pay I'd say it was good value. Also they are open till 3 am so might be a good stop off after the pubs kick out!

The food is good so long as you don't mind a hostile atmosphere. We were given items we didn't…read moreorder- which it was implied were complimentary, and we were then charged crazy prices for. Beware when ordering poppadoms, you'll be given more than you order with 'dips' that aren't on the menu and which you didn't ask for. When we queried this after we were given our bill, the waiter was immediately hostile about this, claiming we'd ordered these items and that we should've guessed these off-menu complimentary items were actually going to be added to our bill. The waiter yelled at us all, kept giving us different prices for things- and was clearly making up prices based on what he thought he could get away with. Eventually knocked off some money from the bill but a big scene was made over it. Make sure you don't let them put anything on your table unless you ordered it- or else you'll be charged through the arse.

One of our group ordered a family Naan bread to share with his girlfriend as normally they are quite small, so he wanted to be sure they had enough to share, well the family naans are even bigger! Generally the food was perfect too. First the Popadoms. The favourite snack/starter for any Indian meal. They were so fresh and crisp, perfect actually. Everyone had something different and one of our guests had never eaten Indian food before and was quite worried. Her boyfriend ordered a chicken masala for her and she loved it. She now eats Indian food! We were all chuffed with the service, the food quality and presentation and of course we didn't stop talking about the Naan breads. We were also super lucky, as it was so close after New Year and a Thursday, not many folks have started going out on a Thursday night, so we had the restaurant to ourselves. We concluded that after having eaten there for the first time will definitely be back. Ask for Mr T. who is the owner. His nickname for short is actually T, but I call him Mr T. Go and check it out and definitely order a Naan bread!

We both had the lamb, and unfortunately had mild food poisining as a result. The other person in the group who had lamb was unwell also. Everybody else was fine though, probably just a one off. The food itself was fantastic.
