Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9983 was Originally established on 17 October 1957, in the city of Surf City in the state of North Carolina then known as New Topsail Island Post 9983. In the year 1979 the location of Post 9983 moved to its current location in Holly Ridge at 188 Hines Stump Sound Church Rd.
