I reached out to see when they were coming and was told that they already cleaned my gutters, roof, & house. When I told them I couldn't tell and had pictures showing dirt that I wiped off on a napkin and pictures showing everything was still dirty, they said someone would contact me, but no one did. So I contacted them again, and the person said they would come back out or follow up. I repeatedly reached back out and no one ever came back out. The Pressure King does not stand by their product. I would AVOID this company and call one of the many other options in Middle TN. I wish I did.

Adulting doesn't get easier. You just get more used to doing it. In my latest adventure in…read morepretending to be a functioning adult, I realized that I needed to get my house washed. Thanks to the naturally rocky soil in Nashville, we're plagued by the wooden weed called the hackberry tree. If you have too many of those damn trees by you, you, your home, your car, and everything else will be covered in black soot. I think that black soot has something to do with aphid waste but I try not to think about it so I don't go crazy. So, living on the east side = being covered in disgusting black waste. Yay. As much pride as I take in my home, I could take more. I should take more. Home maintenance is no joke. It's a constant grind. Something is *always* requiring your attention. Thus, pressure washing. I was a bit dubious of it after reading article after article about the potential danger to your home it can cause but after seeing how much better my neighbor's house looked after having it done, I knew I couldn't put it off any longer. I did my research and came upon The Pressure King. I liked that pressure washing was their specialty. When needing something specific, go to someone who just does that which you need. It's a safe rule. I filled out their online form and received a telephone call in return. I was a bit surprised that I could get a quote without having someone out to eyeball my house. I was a bit concerned but tucked away that concern because 1.) they warranty their work for a year and 2.) after doing only this, they probably know what they're doing. I made the appointment and went about my day. Cleaning day came and it was 34 degrees. Oh dear. I'd read that low temps can jank up pressure washing. My tech was professional, on time and very polite but none of that can overcome low temps. He washed the house and checked in with me about what I thought. We both noted that it wasn't very clean. He called in to his boss, recalibrated the mixture and water temp and redid his work. We got much better results but the (white) wood on my porch and deck was still pretty gray. Wondering if that's just the way it was, I started scrubbing the wood with a paper towel and leftover chemicals (not very smart of me) and noted that the dirt came off. The tech and I spent some time scrubbing the wood but my hand cramped and he had other jobs. He apologized and said he would tell his boss about the difficulties. To their credit, both the owner and scheduler were apologetic and offered to take some money off my bill. Additionally, if I sent photos, they said they'd consider sending someone out to fix the work. Awesome. I sent the photos and they rescheduled another clean. I mentioned that I wanted to be home to make sure only the deck/porch wood got treated. In cleaning my home the first time, some of the stain came off my front door. I know it wasn't done on purpose but it was a new problem I would have to fix. In having that conversation, though, I was told that for the purposes of house cleaning, my deck was an extra fee. I didn't quite get it. Decks aren't a part of the house? This is when, I think, having someone giving a quote in person would be helpful so that they could see what they're talking about. Not wanting to take on added cost, I told them to forget about the dirty wood on the back on my home and just do the front. The scheduler mentioned that she hated for the work to be half-done. I agreed but I wasn't going to pay more for a treatment I'd already paid for -- especially when realizing that scrubbing wasn't part of this service. The original tech came out, apologized for the communication breakdown and did his thing on the front of the house (what he was able to work on; turns out part of my porch wasn't considered part of the home wash quote). As much as I appreciated the interest in getting the job done, I was left a bit confused about what was and wasn't part of my home. Rather than belabor the point, I'll just look for a painter (I need to get my front door re-stained) and call it a day. I'm still 85% satisfied with the work and feel confident giving my experience 4 stars. As is the case in most things home related, go over everything beforehand, during, after... and do it all again.

They Came, They Snaked, They Conquered…read more THE PROBLEM: Sunday night. The disposal side of my kitchen sink quit on us. Full stoppage. Water just sitting there... dark gray, murky, and spiritually unwell. Then, as if to join the chaos, my dishwasher randomly turned on and sounded like it was trying to flush out its regrets. I went to Yelp and fired up one of those project requests. Out of all the companies that got pinged, only one called me directly that night: Devin, the owner of One Source Renovations. At 8PM. On a Sunday. Let that speak for itself. Immediate trust unlocked. We scheduled a 9PM service. At 8:30PM, I get a call from Jamison, the tech. Another emergency had come up for them. He asked if we could reschedule our call to 8AM the following day. I gladly accepted the change. Here's what set them apart: Both Devin and Jamison communicated professionally. Respectful. Clear. No ghosting. No "we'll get back to you." Just a real conversation and a new plan. THE SOLUTION: At exactly 8:00 AM, Jamison showed up. Not "between 8 and noon." Not "running late." Just... there. Like a legend. Jamison explained everything clearly, treated us and our home with total respect, and got to work. 1. Vacuumed the standing water out of the sink 2. Removed the disposal unit to access the drain 3. Snaked the pipe to clear the blockage 4. Reassembled and tested everything. Clean, quick, efficient. He was done in under an hour. And when I say he left the workspace cleaner than when he found it? I mean it. The man wiped surfaces like he was being judged on presentation. THE TEACHABLE MOMENT (AND SOME SCIENCE): Jamison shared some knowledge: "Eggshells were the culprit." I then learned that providing a large brunch for my family can be the gateway drug to pipe failure if mistakes are made. He explained that when you grind up eggshells, the calcium from them will form with the grease and soap residue to create the perfect storm inside your pipes. The crushed shells form a gritty paste. The grease binds everything together. And the soap just helps it slide into place and coat your pipes like jelly. Pipe jelly. That's what I made. And now I'll never un-know it. His advice? "Food doesn't belong in pipes. But if it happens, run ice cubes and Dawn dish soap through the disposal. It'll help break up the sludge and keep the impellers moving right." No judgment. No condescension. Just solid advice that actually made sense. THE BONUS ROUND: While wrapping up, we chatted about future plumbing work. I have a few projects I've been putting off. I didn't want to scope creep his day, but he asked about a slow-draining sink in the primary bathroom and said, "Mind if I just knock that out real quick?" Five minutes later: Problem solved. Something I'd been living with for weeks was handled like a light switch. No fuss. No invoice. Just excellent service. THE VERDICT: 1. Devin called immediately when no one else did. 2. Jamison showed up on time, worked fast, solved the issue, educated me without talking down to me, and even won over my dog. 3. They'll absolutely be back soon to handle the rest of the work we discussed. So if your sink's acting up, your dishwasher's channeling demons, or you just need someone who knows what they're doing? What sets One Source apart? They show up on time, do the job right, explain things without talking down to you, and somehow leave you actually wanting them to come back. That's rare. They're timely. Professional. Educational with zero ego. And genuinely good people. You don't just hire them for what's broken. You hire them for everything else you haven't trusted anyone with yet.

I was hesitant to call them at first because they did not have one single review on Yelp. However, on Google, they have well over 300-5 star reviews. With that being said, I called them on a Friday morning. They picked up within a couple of rings. They were actually going to send someone out to my place to evaluate my roof damage that day. Unfortunately, I was not available. So they came out on Saturday. They gave me two fair quote options. The first was they could repair it immediately, but the shingles would not 100% match. Option 2, delayed repair but with exact match shingles. I went with option two which was to get an exact match. They told me that they would need a day to find the exact match. Sunday night, I received a text that they would be out Monday afternoon to repair my roof. Unbelievably, I received a text Monday morning, telling me that they would actually be out a little sooner cause they were ahead of schedule.
