There are kid friendly height chairs and tables for the young ones to feel like adults. Books are easily within reach for every young age and the librarians are so helpful. The kids can practice checking out books at a kiosk in the children's section that is lower in height. There are online options for reserving books and looking at the selection available at Champaign and Urbana library. It's so easy to find a book you want and have it reserved for pick up .The library is open 7 days a week which gives ultimate flexibility.

It is a 40-foot tall stone tower with a working Seth Thomas clock from the first decade of the 20th Century. It works on one winding for 8 days. One of the highlights of a Route 66 Motor Tour was being on site and at the clock one Sunday afternoon when it was time to wind the clock.
