Verve is a cool place fond in heart from my days at uni. It's a great little hang out that has a good transition from day to evening, and is massively helped with a cool atmosphere, really friendly staff, low level soft and squishy leather sofas, freshly brewed espresso and a selection of cocktails, spirits and beers in conjunction with an awesome little menu, with a combination of staples and a selection of specials that change weekly, all at good prices with hearty portions. Oh and the puddings are yum too!
Two levels and two entrances. A couple of sofas of the first level with a few chairs and tables dotted around, there are a few steps up to the next level or you can walk up the full set of stairs to another slouchy seated area. Down a few steps from the top seated level is a level of chairs and tables all nicely low lit and great to sit down over lunch or dinner with some friends or over drinks. Lovely.
Pleasant seating area outside too for sunnier climates and it's one of those places where I've never had an ounce of trouble, no matter what day or time of the day I've ever been in. There's always some kind of funky music playing throughout the day and when the day has turned to night a DJ takes over for more tunes.
Oh oh oh the walls are covered with art by local artists, which incidentally is available to purchase! And there is a particularly kickass one on the backwall of the mid level which is 3D and purdy. read more
